Well, since I've been a fan, it's Hogan-Andre WMIII. However, the Inoki-Ali is right there since it was in 1976 when Ali was still a huge deal as a boxer. Kaufman/Lawler got a lot of mainstream pub when that went down as well.

The death of VHS is coming very shortly.

Magnetic tapes 0wn your faces!! -
Ragu or Prego. Can't really go wrong with either of those 2.

This was from the Observer... Looks like TNA might be going head to head with WWE without even moving. (at least in certain big markets)

Cause he's Vince. Any threat, even if remote and small, to his monopoly of the industry is viewed as very bad. Can't have options you know. It's either you're in WWE and your prosperous (and worked like a dog) or it's off to the indies working for peanuts. God forbid the wrestlers have options in this day and age. I'm not against WWE. Wrestlers should have the chance to show their skills with the biggest pro wrestling company in the world. They should also have a chance at getting paid to do so. I'm more of a guy that likes options and alternatives for both my viewing of wrestling and the wrestlers themselves. As Konnan said in 101 Reasons not to be a Pro Wrestler, it's a promoter's (Vince) market right now and that is good for one thing-WWE. The industry as a whole is suffering for it.

From what I understand, he's not well recieved by teammates. No one cried over him being dumped by the Lakers. He was a huge reason for the Mavs playoff success in 2003 (I'd go so far as to say the sole reason the Mavs even got past the Webber-less Kings) and then they dump him as well. Word was he rubbed Dirk and Nash the wrong way. In GS, he was nothing but a whining ass bitch and his stint in Portland was viewed as negative cause he doesn't get along with people. Maybe cancer was a bad term to call him, but he is definitely not the most popular guy amongst his peers.

Not sure about Van Exel in SA. He's a firecracker for sure and when he's hot, he's as good a shooter as anyone in the league. Problem is he's a cancer on pretty much every team he's been on and hasn't shown he likes to play defense, something Popovich and Co. put a premium on. I figure if Van Exel doesn't fall in line with SA doctrine, he'll be gone by midseason.

Good point, Ripper. That point was why I questioned why T.O. was hinting he wanted to go to Atlanta. Has he figured out they are a running team? Vick has physical talent up the wazoo, but he hasn't shown he'll be getting the ball downfield unless he is the one running it there.

I wouldn't mind at all if these spots were built up. The spot yesterday was to wet the appetite some. Each week leading to Impact's debut they could make the spots longer and more dramatic. Hell, by the last Raw, I'd love to see a 1-2 minute full on music video "Desire" style right before the Main Event or something. That'd be the way I'd do it.

I will definitely look into that Google Talk program. Admin-Mike actually found a way to get a convo going that I've tested and it's pretty good. I just need to find a way to convert the file onto my sound program. However, the Google Talk may help with people who don't want to download the program I plan on using convo for.

Cool, get it in cause I'm recording tonight!!

Will The Pepsi Plunge Be Seen On WWE TV?
Dangerous A replied to daileyxplanet's topic in The WWE Folder
Why is there all this talk about Punk and him possibly using the Pepsi Plunge in WWE? He hasn't even reported to OVW yet for deprogramming and even then, they'll probrably change his look and gimmick quite a bit. I am looking forward to seeing what Heyman can do with Punk for however long Punk is in OVW. -
Suge is just bad for hip hop. I wouldn't doubt if Kanye is pissed because of the negative attention his party got as a result of Suge's presence. Something tells me if Suge doesnt' show up, there isn't a shooting at Kanye's party. While I don't wish death upon anyone, I wouldn't mind seeing Knight being locked up for a long while. The man is an arch criminal and has shown little change in the last 10 years whether locked up or not.

I work in SF Mike. It's so-so happening. Not 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath= 1 million dollar home happening though. (not an exageration on the housing prices in SF either BTW)

I totally agree that the Dudley Boys were stale as hell in 2001 after their WMX7 TLC match. They peaked with a spot-fu match and haven't gone anywhere since. However, you are assuming TNA will make them champs. Hell, they haven't even been hired yet. If their asking price for indy shots is an indication of what they want ($5000 a match, $10,000 for the duo) then they will not be TNA bound as they simply don't have the jack for it and they would upset the payscale because even Jarrett is only making around $2500 a match, and he's tops in payout. You can't assume just because Bubba Dudley says the TNA lockerroom is similar to ECW's in terms of working together, that TNA is going for a rehash of ECW. I will wait until TNA makes a mistake like trying to be another ECW instead of just being themselves before making pre-emptive criticisms.
-
I couldn't have said it better 2GOLD. The McMahons will be playing the "it's unfair, we're victims" card if, and that's a big if still, TNA were to gain an audience of any kind from these spots.

Mike, a 4 bedroom house in the Bay Area is going for at least $600,000 or more, and that's in a bad neighboorhood like West Oakland. My friend just got a house similar to what you described and while it's still high, it was at least in a decent neighborhood and the house was actually very spacious. The weather is the only thing keeping me happy here in the East Bay.
-
You ain't kidding JotW. I live in the disgustingly high cost of living Bay Area. My wife and I look at houses and we cry tears of blood because a mediocre house is going for half a million or more.

NJPW G1 Climax v AJPW Champion Carnival
Dangerous A replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
Well, I think Carnival 95 is probrably the best of all the Champion Carnivals and G-1's and the finals ends with a ***** match with Taue v Misawa. However, G-1 has more prestige and a better number of tourney's. Memorable G-1 Matches.. Muto v Vader 91 Chono v Muto 91 Chono v Rude 92 Hashimoto v Hase 93 Muto v Hashimoto Finals 95 Choshu v Hashimoto 96 Hashimoto v Tenryu 98 Hashimoto v Yamazaki 98 Nagata v Muto 01 Takayama v Nishimura 02 Takayama v Chono 02 Tenzan v Akiyama 03 (both block match and finals) I haven't seen G-1 '04 or '05, so I couldn't tell you if there were any kick ass matches there. -
As stated in my original post, I have my doubts about a Vader-only DVD being released. It would only really appeal to hardcore fans and that alone isn't enough to do it. Plus, his WWF/E run wasn't all that and because of that, I doubt you'd get a Vader DVD. Much more likely to be a part of a theme or compilation DVD than anything.
-
If WWE could work out something with the Japanese promotions, they absolutely have to get Vader's 1/4/96 Dome show beating of Inoki as well as some of his late 80's/early 90's NJPW matches and late 90's AJPW matches. The Inoki beating has to be first priority though. Everything else would be icing on the cake.
-
According to PWI Insider.com, Vader has signed the legends deal that WWE has been offering to former workers of theirs. A lot of fanboys on other boards seem to think this will spark a Vader DVD, but I don't know if that will be the case. Personally, I'd love to have Vader v Sting from GAB '92 and Vader v Flair from Starcade 93 on DVD, but I don't know if WWE views Vader in a good enough light to warrant his own DVD. Perhaps a spot on a Greatest Stars of the 90's or something? Discuss.

Next show should be done by Tuesday and up that night or Wednesday at the latest. I was trying to get one up before Raw today, but there were PC issues. Now things should be ok. The topics will still be the same. I may try to get shows up on Tuesday or Wednesday since Mondays are no good for me. That's where things stand right now.

Here is a highlight music video of "Sacrifice", a sample of the action Jericho "could" be a part of... http://zerovids.cjb.net/ Actually, this thread has a lot of traffic and I wanted to direct some folks here to watch a well made TNA highlight video.

Update for Coffey and anyone else who wants to email the show... (taken from General Wrestling pinned topic folder) For the next Danger Zone, here are the topics I'll be touching on that you can email me on. I will look to incorporate your emails into the topics you touch on (if you send me an email on Smackdown for instance, I'll throw your email in the Smackdown segment of the show) I'll be doing an entire segment on just general questions and thoughts on any topic in wrestling. Here are the topics I plan on doing segments for... Look at the last episode of Smackdown and the move to Friday nights TNA- thoughts on Jericho, the idealistic and realistic in regards to coming in and his latest "stunt", who should TNA be looking to add on to the roster in time for Impact on Spike TV. ROH- look at Kobashi's 10/1 and 10/2 matches along with Gibson winning the ROH title and the effect of having a person who everyone knows is not staying has been having on the group. And a whole segment on whatever you want to email on. You can comment on things I talked about on the last show, ask questions, request my opinion on something, WWE, TNA, ROH, shill yourself, shill a site, shill a blog, whatever. No limits in this segment. All I ask is to keep it as clean as possible. (kids might be listening ) This is your chance to be a part of the show. Send those emails to- [email protected] Hope to hear from you! DA
