  1. I voted for SS 91, since that is one of my favorite shows ever and I don't think I have a decent DVD copy of it. I kinda wish they would show the 1995 one though, just for the hell of it since I protested that PPV at the time and never wanted to see it (due to Mabel main eventing). Now I'd like the show since it's one of the few SSs I haven't seen and I'd like to get the ladder match. Also haven't seen SS 2003. With the hard on they have for these 2003 PPVs you'd think they would bust it out.
  2. I bet they show SS 92 next month, since they pimp the hell out of that show. GAB 1990 as well keeps getting shown every summer. The Benoit on 24/7 thing isn't a big deal....yet. Editing off some lame tag match won't be missed by anyone but the die hards, especially when it is during the now creepy Benoit/Woman/Sullivan angle. But as I said elsewhere, what happens when the Horsemen start feuding with the NWO? Are they going to just ignore this entirely? Are we not going to have Flair and Arn on these shows? It's idiocy. I got that new ECW show that covers N2R 95 and the Taz heel (?) turn.
  3. The Wargames on the Horsemen DVD is one from 1988 with Luger, Dr. Death and Co. against them. It's not really as good of a match.
  4. I watched that Nitro from 1997 today and did wonder if they had edited Benoit off the show. This is so idiotic. Because of Benoit they edit another 3 guys off of a show? What will they do with these Nitros when the Horsemen start feuding more with the NWO in 1997? You can't edit Ric Flair and Arn Anderson off every WCW show because Benoit was with them. To me maintaining the integrity of the broadcast for subscribers is more important than editing someone out. I can only imagine how horrid some of the 2000-01 WWF PPVs will be on 24/7, with the goofy blurred logos ruining the show as well as editing Benoit out of major matches. I think they may just avoid showing PPVs with Benoit playing a major role.
  5. Yeah if Marella just gets released soon after this or doesn't do anything more than become a jobber then he would likely make this list. Won the title on a fluke coming from the crowd, had no memorable defenses, and the guy he beat destroyed him with ease to regain. If Umaga has a solid run with the belt then he would go off my bottom 5 list.
  6. Yeah, give Crazy the title shot! I would have also gone with Booker instead of Lashley, mainly because I wouldn't do Cena vs. Lashley on such a nothing PPV. I have no idea why Booker was sent to Raw, since he has no credibility left with the King gimmick and there aren't many feuds for him. Maybe Booker vs. HBK when Michaels returns? That's about all I can think of for Booker.
  7. Nah, Yokozuna shouldn't have gone over Luger strong since it mostly just buries Luger to do it after pushing him hard. Have Fuji toss salt in Luger's face or Cornette hit Luger with the Japanese flag, give the guy a bit of protection rather than eating 5 Banzai drops in a row.
  8. What is that Ultimate X match for exactly? As in what does the winner get, an X title shot? I agree that Styles/Daniels should have won. Let's face it, there is nobody in their right mind (or maybe even not in their right mind) who thinks the Dudleys have a hope in hell of beating Angle and Joe. They aren't going to put the world title on Bubba or the X title on D'Von, so we know 100% for a fact that Angle and Joe are winning the tag belts. At least with Styles and Daniels there was a chance someone might get the X title from Joe.
  9. Cena vs. Lashley is a bad idea right now. This match is something they could actually build to and make important, not just something to throw onto the year's lamest PPV (like the SD title match). I would have rather Booker's time held up and they give him some lame duck title shot where he'd job of course. I still think somehow that ends up a 3 way and Booker eats a pin. Is Kennedy still hurt? The Super Crazy thing was more of a silly angle than a match, but Kennedy is still getting buried. Or if it isn't a burial it'll do until one comes along.
  10. Oh god, Kane gets his once a year lame duck title shot. I know it's just the garbage heap PPV known as the Great American Bash, but still. Kane is seemingly always the guy they throw in there to waste time when the main feud can't go anywhere (Edge/Batista) and there's no new decent idea.
  11. King Kamala, I agree that there wasn't a huge amount they could do with Luger as champ but the thing is they really needed to pay off the insane push. They did that a lot in 1993, stuff like Tatanka having his big streak but he never really won anything with it. For instance why not give Tatanka the IC belt at WM? If he's not that over with it, have Michaels end his streak later and regain the title. With Luger he obviously needed to go over at SS 93, since it looked incredibly stupid otherwise. They could always job him back to Yoko at Survivor Series 93 or something like that, then had the UT/Yoko feud and Luger and Bret both chase for a while since both are former champs. The problem Luger inevitably had is that fans were simply more into Bret and UT than they were him.
  12. I laughed when I heard that Orton/HHH rumor, since it's so blatant that HHH is priming Orton for another title run so he can squash him and regain the title. I'd have an easier time accepting Orton in such a position had he not been totally jobbed out. Is it against the laws of man to put someone newer in the Raw title scene? Lashley, Kennedy, anyone. It's not that these guys are serious main eventers at the moment, but I'd rather see that than combos of HHH/Cena/Orton on top. If HHH doesn't face Orton at SummerSlam there's really only one other heel for him to bury in his return match, and that is Kennedy.
  13. They just put the belt on Johnny Freakin Nitro for crying out loud. The idea of Nitro adding credibility to a title is hilariously absurd, especially given the creepy reason he was put in the title match. Of course CM Punk should be champion on ECW. He's really the only top tier face on the show right now and there are 3 heels at the moment (Corvon, Burke, Nitro). Then again, who is to say there will even be an ECW past December? What major star is going to want to go to ECW from Raw or SD at this point?
  14. It's pointless to even remove his matches or segments though, at least to me it is. Okay I might remove the Benoit/Woman/Sullivan angle from the various Nitro shows, since that now comes off extremely creepy. I can see pulling Benoit's merchandise and DVD, but are they going to start removing every match too? I mean for instance Survivor Series 2002....are they really going to remove the tag titles match because Benoit was one of 6 men involved (along with Eddie/Chavo and Rey/Edge)?
  15. I'm not sure what to make of the Orton thing since I wasn't there and don't know exactly how it went down. But I really hope they don't try to do a similar spot on TV. The "Why?" part is the odd part. The Sharpshooter is a common enough move that I wouldn't automatically associate it with Benoit if someone did it.
  16. Agreed, they definitely need to repackage Eugene and hopefully real life has made it inevitable that they do something else with Dinsmore. I like that idea where he is revealed to not really be retarded, though I don't know how anyone would think it is a good idea to play retard in order to be hired as a pro wrestler. They could just put him under a mask for a while and people wonder who this guy is, etc.
  17. The thing is, how much money do they think Die Hard movies are going to make? The first 3 did very well for themselves while being rated R. What good does a PG-13 rating do here? I remember seeing that in the late 60s and through the 70s there would be different versions of movies. For instance if you want to see the PG version of Saturday Night Fever, it's out in theaters. If you want the R version, you could see that too. I did enjoy this movie today and found it very exciting, but the whole time it did feel very watered down compared to the previous 3. Here it was like I kept waiting for Willis to scream profanities during fights, or rant and rave in hilarious fashion but due to the rating it never happened. Also a sad lack of blood compared to the first 3. It does have the most diabolical heel in the series though with the most ambitious scheme. If I had to rank them I would go as thus: 1. Die Hard 2. Die Hard with a Vengeance 3. Live Free or Die Hard 4. Die Hard 2
  18. If they wanted to get rid of any Benoit related stuff it would be a complete nightmare. We're talking virtually every WCW TV show and PPV from late 1995 till Jan. 2000. Then damn near every WWE TV show or PPV from 2000-2007, with the exception of July 2001 until May 2002 when he was out with neck surgery. There's just no viable way to do that. On a different note, I watched that SS 93 main event last night and am still in awe of how bad they fucked up Luger's push. It might well have been the worst mega push in history, from the inept beginning of it (Narcissist one day, American hero the next with zero explanation), to not doing anything wrestling related to earn a title shot (he campaigned for one in a bus for an entire summer), to finally getting said match and then not even actually winning the title but just getting a countout win. I'm not saying Luger was going to be as big as Hogan, but with more logical booking and a decent payoff the guy could have been an over draw as champion. The problem is where do you go with Luger as WWF champ? They could do a Yoko rematch, but after that the heel side of things was pretty slim. Bigelow's early momentum was gone. Michaels had no main event credibility in 1993-94. There was always Ludvig Borga I guess, but who wanted to see that match?
  19. Here is one thing I have never understood about TNA. Why the hell do they constantly have a heel with the belt? Of course we're bound to get that inspiring Jarrett face run with the title, so maybe I'm speaking too soon.
  20. I think the reason Debra is taking some flack is that she waited until now to speak up. Austin's abusive nature has been chronicled in the past, so it's not news really. Austin's a drunken, roided up wife beater....well honey, you married the guy. Anyway, the Angle/Lesnar match is intriguing. I don't know how much Angle was seriously messed up or was faking it to get out of his WWE contract. But last year he goes to ECW, gets on everyone's nerves to no end, got suspended for failing a wellness test, then came back and promptly started falling apart physically. In the house show matches with RVD he tore his pelvis clear off the bone, damn near broke Van Dam's neck with a suplex, etc. I don't think anyone knows exactly what happened when Angle met with Vince and Co., but either he demanded his release and they said "Fuck it" and gave it to him, or they demanded he go into rehab and he refused and thus was released. If anyone has further info on Angle, feel free to add to this.
  21. I think honestly he really needs to just job the belt to someone and take some time off. It's amazing that since he's been in WWE I don't recall him ever having an injury or nursing a sore knee or anything really. Cena is so unbelievably stale at this point that I'm starting to understand what fans must have been thinking during the Backlund era. The problem is though....who can you put in the spot? HHH only opens up the anti HHH sentiment again, Michaels is past his prime and currently injured, I don't even want to think about Orton getting the belt. I'd go with Lashley or Kennedy. There had to be some reason these guys moved to Raw, other than to get buried.
  22. Okay I watched the Jericho interview and here are some thoughts: --Jericho was wrong saying that Benoit was WWE Champion on Raw. He was the World Champion, Eddie was the WWE champ at that same time. But that was minor. --I thought Jericho was strangely insistent in terms of defending ECW. For any major star going to ECW is a major demotion. It is by far the lowest of the 3 shows, does the lowest ratings, and the title belt on the show is worthless. Being a major star on ECW is like being a drummer for Spinal Tap. Van Dam was busted for weed and his career was hurt, now his contract is up and he's leaving WWE. Angle? Suspended almost immediately after going to ECW, then released soon after due to his serious physical and mental problems. Big Show? The physical hardcore matches in ECW shortened his career and he was so burnt out that he left WWE once his contract was up. We don't know if Benoit took it as a slight being sent to ECW, but I can understand it if he did. As deranged as it sounds I don't think it was totally a coincidence that Benoit flipped out after leaving SD for ECW.
  23. Eh, it really only affects the MNW shows on a regular basis. I still have old ECW, WCCW, and NWA shows not to mention the various PPVs to keep me happy with 24/7. What does it matter if Benoit is on a show anyway? Is someone going to suddenly drop everything and kill their entire family due to seeing Benoit vs. Konnan from a Nitro in 1997?
  24. This match reminded me a lot of the 1999 Royal Rumble with all the bizarre away from the match nonsense, fighting in the back, run ins galore. And gee, I wonder why it's so similar?
  25. Is this why Woody mentioned not being on ATH anymore on Tuesday's show? I thought he was just kidding around.
