Tikhonov (the Russian head coach) pulled Tretiak (arguably the greatest goalie of all the times) after the Americans scored a bit of a soft goal near the end of the first period. Totally boneheaded move. The saddest part is that goal was only half his fault. The defense had completely given up on the play, and he should have never eve had to face that shot. I'd say it was 3/4 his fault. The defense quit on him but he all but passed Johnson the puck back and let him score on the rebound. Probably the worst rebound he ever gave up.

If there's any truth to these Pronger to Boston rumors I officially have no opinion. I hate the fucker but a top 4 of Chara/Pronger/Wideman/Ward all but guarantees conference finals.

I'm just relieved that 202 will likely be unaffected as neither show is really a hemmorhage of cash. I will be happy once this is over and they stop pulling replays because of controversy too. Also if we could get some of the old XM music channels back, that would be great. Instead of "let's include both company's music channels" it was "let's get rid of every XM channel and just make the entire platform Sirius". They got rid of some great channels and really changed some of them badly. And while I don't think Howard will be kicked off, I can't see him getting huge money to re-up with SiriusXM. He's Mel's boy and rumored new boss Charlie Ergen HATES Mel. They've had issues in the past that have ended with Ergen posting Mel's home phone number online.

Agent's recipe of course works for just about any meat you'd use. I made turkey gravy on thanksgiving that was little else but the turkey drippings in the roasting pan and me whisking flour into it over medium heat. Packet gravy is way too salty for my liking. We unfortunately had a dinner ruined out at a diner when they decided to cover my pot roast in this disgusting, brown "gravy" that tasted like salt mixed with some meat juices and water. Truly awful.

The Bruins seem to be falling back into "We get two points just for participating" which is incredibly dangerous. They did not play well today on the powerplay which is starting to slip in quality thanks to the addition of Axelsson on the right side. There are many better options on the wing on the powerplay other than a player with little offensive skills. Wheeler was benched after that "hooking" call late in the second, but there's still Krejci, Kobasew, Kessel, Lucic...even Bitz. Instead, Claude has fallen into the trap of relying on Axelsson at key points. Considering the last time he did this their powerplay began to suffer, I'm wondering about this. Wait, no I'm not. Axelsson is one of the best penalty killers in the league. He's not to be used on the powerplay. Fernandez played very well for a guy playing his first game in a month. Claude needs to decide what he's doing. Either Thomas and Fernandez are 1A and 1B or Thomas is the #1 and Fernandez is the backup. Since the latter seems to be true, maybe getting Fernandez some decent playing time might help with his being effective stopping the puck. They're in the important part of the schedule. They need to start playing like a playoff team so Chiarelli can determine who needs to be brought in to help. Tkachuk? Weight? Or do they make this rumored deal and bring in Cole? Chiarelli might have to shake things up slightly, they seem to be resting and expecting to win just because. That's not going to cut it. I'm going to go listen to The Band and fall into a stupor. I hate sports sometimes.

Because this is a big stretch for the Bruins, they're playing good teams and the effort doesn't seem to be there on most nights. And having to play against the Flyers and the refs isn't helping here. They needed to use this game as a tune up for a big time test against the Sharks on tuesday, instead they're letting an inferior team hang with them. It's unacceptable.
