I thought I summed it up. Eddie bladed and lost a lot of blood. Though he was attended by trainers, he did not go to hospital and get a blood tranfusion. I guess he thought as a champ he should set a standard of persevering while the belt was around his waist. As a result he ended up suffering from shock and blacked out due to the lack of blood in his system. he then ended up going to hospital anyway. I believe they played off it in an angle at some point also.

He drew poorly even though his shirts sold. He pushed himself to meet self imposed expectations of how he should have been carrying the company, leading him to be mentally and physically exhausted. I believe he crashed a car when he fell asleep behind the wheel. He got into it with Kurt Angle twice (one week Angle and Luther apologised even though they felt Eddy was in the wrong, the second time saw Angle frontfacelock Eddie and keep him face to the ground until agents stepped in. I believe Eddie and Angle got called before managment to settle things and shake hands to settle matters). When a handful of German fans started chanting "Eddie Sucks" at a house show, Eddie, rather than play along and act like a rudo or even ignore the chants, took offense and screamed over the house mic, "Eddie doesn't suck, Germany sucks!" which is not exactly a slogan you want associated with a face champion. His health suffered following the gory bladejob he did to put over JBL but he refused to go to the hospital, which led to his system going into shock since he was missing vital pints. All in all, he pushed himself to hard to try be the champion he thought he should be and ended up becoming a champion that managment felt bad about putting the belt on in hindsight. I have read about it in the last two issues of UK wrestling publication Power Slam. Apparently they have had it planned but the sports governing body is giving the problems over promoting the match as a barb wire match.

Breakout Fighter of the Year Ryo Chonen. Well rounded with great subs and defense who defied expectations against Newton and surprised many against Anderson Silva. Upset of the Year Randleman over Cro Cop. KO of the Year Silva KO'ing Rampage. Sub of the Year Either Chonen's "spider killer" heel hook or Minotauro's Anaconda choke. Bad Awards: Worst fighter of the year Wes Sims. Worst fight of the year Ogawa vs Leko. Worst show of the year I can't think of a show I saw without some redeeming matches. Biggest fall Tito, Kerr, Newton, Lawler... there's as few. Biggest Disappointment (fight) Vitor vs Randy @ Supernatural. Biggest Disappointment (card) I was actually a little let down by the PRIDE news years show. Worst decision Hughes vs Verissimo or Hunt vs Silva. "What the fuck?!" They don't remember HHH beating Benoit in his first match or that Edge and Christian are brothers, I doubt they've got a Tenay sense for back referencing matches given one is a lech who can barely remember he's at work and the other sounds like a senile football fan who calls every other move as a "sidewalk slam".

How can a book run for like 500 issues, and then end up having two restarts in the space of what, 6 years? You know what these books need? Consistency and quality, not revamps/reboots/restructuring. A new number 1 will sell primarily on it's possible future value regardless. If it's doing the same sales with each following issue and actually gets into triple digits before the next reboot, then it'll be really noteworthy.
