  1. Remember when Alec Baldwin said he would move to Canada if Bush won in 2004, and the Conservative Pundits were all over it, ESPECIALLY Hannity? Well John McCain on Chris Mathews Town Hall show at (I forgot which one) some college a couple of weeks ago, said that if the Dems took control of the house that he would COMMIT SUICIDE Of course these same pundits aren't jumping all over him for making devisive comments that polarize people and he is a f'n elected official...of course there also is a CHANCE the McCain suicide line was a "botched joke"
  2. ...and people wonder why MikeSC was laughed off of this board a couple of years ago.
  3. Yeah, that's great. Got any liberal editorials to derail the thread with this time? Sure...this one's for you....not really an editorial just a comment and pic from a blog http://www.mediabistro.com/tvnewser/fnc/ch...e_day_46912.asp Monday, Nov 06 Chyron Of The Day An e-mailer sends along this screen grab from around 2pm, with the caption: "It appears that they can't even allow themselves to say the Dems are leading..."
  4. One thing is for sure, now that the Dems have the house, they better well have a strategy to get something done in the next two years, because if the country is not at least headed in the direction of being somewhat turned around, then the Republicans will just pull the "See you all voted for the Dems in the house and look what they did...NOTHING" card. I almost wish that this could have been a Presidential election year instead because I think it would have been far easier for a Democrat to get elected President right now, then it will be in 2008. I am just worried that the democratic party is so full of people that don't even agree on issues right now that it could be a big clusterfuck for the next two years. Lets face it, I don't care if they are secular progressives or moderate dems that got voted into the house tonight, the fact is this election was more like a national bitch-slap to the republicans regarding the war in iraq/the economy, and corruption, so I better not see half the democrats that got elected, cave in on voting or voting against bills having to do with the war and/or tax cuts etc etc etc over the next two years. Now that they have the house, they better be DONE with acting afraid of being called "light on terrorists" and all that other bullshit that they claim they couldn't do anything about because they were in the minority in the government. The Democrats need to get their act together and decide how they plan to act strategically for the next two years to set up what is going to be another crazy presidential race.
  5. George Allen winning is a fucking embarrasment. Shame on you Virginia.
  6. Actually, ever since the ban happened in CA, it has been a god-send to bar patrons. All it really does is make people go outside on the patios to smoke, which is not that inconvenient, and it is rather CHOICE for people who don't smoke to not have to injest the fucking shit all night long. Trust me, smokers still go to bars in DROVES.
  7. Scattered polling places in the east coast and midwest are staying open later, because there was a lot of trouble with the machines earlier, causing big delays...
  8. Only time I've been to O'hare, I only had a 30 minute lay-over, so I was in too much of a rush to notice any odd odors.
  9. Candidate for what? Feinstein for the Senate....but that is a pretty safe seat.
  10. My polling place is just down the road from here, I am about to go vote in a few minutes.......
  11. Well I think the main thing is that in 2000, and even in 2004, most of the problems at polling places weren't even covered by the media until AFTER the elections were actually over, and then it gave an oppurtunity for people to write it off as bullshit. If you take the approach to COVER IT WHILE IT IS HAPPENING, it is harder to convince people it really isn't happening.
  12. I find crap like this really annoying. "If we all just sat down and worked out our problems and did what's best for America, things would be great!" You act like the there aren't real differences between the parties or between liberals & conservatives. There isn't some magical centrist approach to problems. Yes, compromise can happen at times, but disagreements exist and can't just be ironed out by some centrist white knight from Nottingham. American liberals & conservatives (or Democrats & Republicans) actually agree on a whole lot of things, but the differences & disagreements are real, and they're not going away. One of the problems is the BLURRING of terms Democrats/Liberals & Republicans/Conservatives.........I'd say Democrats/Republicans have stuff in common, but Liberals/Conservatives, not so much. The stupid fucking media has done so much to blur each respective term that people don't even have a clue that all four mean different things.
  13. The thing is, the Iraqi Insurgency is not on the same side as the foreign fighters, they just had a common goal because Iraq was being occupied by our military. Iraqis JUST WANT US OUT, and Al Qaeda(among other barbarians) just find it convenient to cross over into Iraq and try to kill our soldiers because it is a chaotic civil war-zone with no border control. If America's forces left, I am willing to bet that the Iraqis who don't seem to have any trouble getting weapons, will turn on the foreign fighters and drive them out, because hell, if I am an Iraqi, I don't want Al Qaeda in my country anymore then I want America, probably even less so, and my gun will be pointed at the next terrorist who thinks he/she is getting their hands on Iraqi oil. I mean, it's not like the IRAQI's ASKED for Al Qaeda to come in, or to have their country as the fictional "central front of the war on terrorism" Our President kind of just decided and planned/unplanned for that to happen...
  14. It's a war. There are losses. Yes, there are lots of good things happening but you have to look for them. The Mission Accomplished was for toppling the Iraqi government. That was done, and done quickly. The terrorists know their acts will be publicized around the world, especially by the likes of CNN so they keep doing them. They're blowing up their own people, just to get negative attention on the U.S. They're not stupid. Why do you have to discuss this like you're cutting a wrestling promo? (So fucking difficult?) Riiiight, this is one of my "favorite" talking points...."it's the media's fault" If Savage or Drudge puts up video of a beheading on their website it is something "Americans need to see to witness the brutality of these people" but if CNN REPORTS THE FUCKING NEWS, they are "liberal commie bastards that want America to lose" I don't know where you get your news from, but the major problem in Iraq right now is not even foreign fighters, it is Iraqis themselves that are in civil war, while each side at the same time wants us the hell out of there. It is so keen to blame the media, but a reality check might be in order to maybe realize that the Insurgency might exist because Iraqis don't want to be occupied.
  15. Anyone just about fed up with the latest invention by the media that "The Democrats are so cocky, they believe they have it all wrapped up and have already won" I mean, it is pretty much assanine that they keep repeating this, yet at the same time haven't been able to quote or show footage of a single democrat saying this......and I am talking about actual politicians, not pundits who come onto the shows to say the company line which will ALWAYS BE "I think we are going to win"
  16. Is it me or does it look like Masters is starting to put back on some muscle mass?
  17. I'm sorry, but in the middle of a war-zone, a country in shambles, and in civil war, a random school being built somewhere should NOT be the priority in the news what-so-ever. It's is like Bush, how he keeps going back to "The Iraqi people voted" yet doesn't discuss what exactly they voted for, the conditions for how the new government will run, and exactly what this means for the long run.
  18. Another problem is the hypocritical nature in people. When polled, people CLAIM that negative political ads turn them off from a politician, yet when it gets to election time, and someone has a lead, and they get some fraudulent negative ad ran about them, they magically lose their lead, or the gap closes and it becomes a tight race...... Everything now is a smear campaign. I wish people would just realize that politicians come out of the same gene pool as the general public, they aren't going to be perfect people. I understand there is LEGIT corruption in the government and that of course needs to be dealt with, but some of these attack ads are going straight for totally irrelevent character flaws that serve no one.
  19. Anyone find it kind of funny how Umaga is seemingly Samoan or some type of Islander, yet Estrada speaks spanish to him!?!
  20. Why did Cena's music hit if it was supposed to be a "save" ? Also from earlier in the night, nice how RAW can have all these NO DQ matches but Vince wants WWECW to get away from doing "extreme rules" matches....lol.
  21. Why in the hell do all the zombies in the trailer sound like teradactyls? This looks more like 28 Days Later then a true Zombie flick........consider me DISSAPOINTED!!!

    Boxing Thread

Liakovich's corner was mindboggling to me. They didn't want him mixing it up with Briggs, but for 75% of the fight Briggs's hands were down at his waist. They should have told him to move in, close the distance and throw more combos at the dude's head that was wide open when Briggs was gassed after a round and a half..... ....and what is with all this calling out of Wladimir by every fighter that gets a win. Look Shannon Briggs, congrats on the win and the belt, but if THAT is how you get in shape and get ready for a championship fight, prepared to be KO'd in less than 5 rounds against Vladimir, if Mr. Don King ever lets the fight happen.

    NFL Week 9

The Redskins/Cowboys game was one of the worst officiated games I have seen this season, so many blatant calls go without a whistle. Redskins win, WHOO!!
  24. Putting it on Test would be atrocious, he is probably the WOST of the bunch in the match, well besides Big Show.
