As Plashke says, you can't keep Manny! He's too old! Too expensive! -
Ongoing Impact spoilers for this Thursday

Styles vs Sting is what we all wanted, and that's good, but I just like consistency. Booker just pinned AJ at the pay per view. How does this work? And the Guns finally get a win, but over the X-champ? I think Bashir actually has a lost more matches than he's won since winning the title, which may be some kind of weird record. And, of course, Roxxi and Kong get TV time, but the champ is nowhere to be found. -
I'll probably go to the Anaheim one. It's an hour drive, but I'm still betting on tickets being available at the door.
-
Except for the part where the rest of the match is not as interesting. And Alexander Scriabin reference in the TNA folder. I think I just had a stroke. Heck, I'm having one seeing that someone knows who he is.

The Things That Anger You Thread.

Aren't you guys used to it by now? This happens every year. I think Mother Nature is just trying to extinguish Los Angeles' sprawl. Yeah, enough with the houses in the mountains, already. The fires should be enough to deter people from living there. -
I just knew that my shadow would have some words for me, and a 2 for 1, at that. A great rivalry isn't dependent on both teams being good, but competitive with each other. Yankees-Red Sox is just annoying, and I don't see any other rivalry that comes close. I've never claimed to be an Angels fan, but even if I were it wouldn't stop me from seeing the bigger picture with LA fans. And I can't believe there's another LA/Orange County discussion.

It's kinda difficult with the Dodgers and Lakers, but I really think that the Dodgers are L.A.'s biggest love. I think it's partly economical. The Lakers are about Showtime, superstars, and expensive tickets. The Dodgers are usually underdogs, and their biggest hero is Kirk Gibson. Almost anyone could afford a World Series ticket. What's interesting is that these two teams represent the parallel universes of L.A. The Lakers have the glamour, which is an easy view of Los Angeles on the surface, and thus an easy reason to choose them, but the Dodgers are for the meat of the city; the hard-working and the lazy, the ones getting screwed by the LAPD and chickenshit tickets, the ones that want to forget about the smog burning their eyes for 3 hours. It's really no use comparing the two, but Vin Scully is more universally loved than Chick Hearn. It's the innocent story-telling that has really gripped people from childhood. The Dodgers also have an enemy, and with that the best rivalry in baseball. There's a lot of frustration building up in Los Angeles, as well as, let's face it, dangerous people. Directing all that anger at the Giants is the outlet that L.A. needs. The Lakers have the interesting dynamic of the Clippers and the hope of a Hallway Series, but there's really no hate there. There are the Celtics, but they just beat the Lakers every time, and are too far away.

The San Fernando Valley is on fire again. -
The late sonatas of Alexander Scriabin, particularly No. 10 often have the climax of the piece come in the middle part, with an additional recapitulation, and extended coda leading into the ending. It is a bit puzzling at first, but really adds to the mysticism, and, frankly, the genius of the composer. Nothing wrong with taking out Abyss with the fire, and continuing the match.

Anyway, you have to go to the old school names. Trolley Dodgers. Knickerbockers.
-
A clipper's a boat. What do you say if you join Minnesota? "I'm now a Wild?" And Kings changes too easily into Queens to be respectable.
-
Very bizarre that Sting has won the title a BFG 3 years in a row. I just can't dislike Sting, though. I was never a big fan of him, but he just has something. Hopefully he can have a longer reign this time.
-
Yeah, but the DS is the closest thing I have to a next-gen system, and there are still a ton of PS2 RPGs I don't have.
-
I just don't want interference like that in the main event of the biggest show of the year.
-
Well the king is just a facet of the outdated monarchial system. I'm pretty sure that AEG is the worst owner an LA team has had recently, worse even than Fox. The youth has accumulated enough to increase expectations, and they did get Kopitar, and apparently Leiweke is now aware that operates a hockey team, but it might not be enough. But I like the Clippers, and their owner just pulled a mini-Al Davis with Elgin Baylor, so whatever.
-
Another terrible ending.

Tritones don't work for a face.

What about Oregon? I like how the Kings have these kinds of slogans every year: "PRIDE = PASSION = POWER" I don't even know what the Ducks' is, if they even have one. I guess "come." will do.
-
Mongo's horrible counting strangely added to the craziness of the match.
-
Moreno Valley? You're a lot closer to another hockey team. Come.
-
I'm glad Bashir retained, but the 3 count looked a little off.
-
What would be a correct call if there's an injured defensive player on a play like that? Issues like that make it look like football and its rules are all still in progress of being perfected.
-
The card does look pretty good. I'd think that Angle and Joe would both win. Styles ultimately beating Joe would be the best, but that probably won't happen.
