Props to Rave and Richards working with broken glass. Jacobs is going to get himself killed if he keeps working with Whitmer. A powerbomb to the crowd, that is plain nuts. I find it interesting Homicide issued the challenge six months in advance but it makes for an intriguing build up.

Is Dick Bavetta ref'ing soccer now?

I predict USA gets a 1-0 lead and gets cocky and that pisses Italy off and they go on a scoring rampage and finishes USA off 4-1.

Prince Nana is having a huge celebration for his players tonight. Good job, Ghana.

Pretty much. Lower card matches shouldn't have to be "lesser", but they should to be somewhat different than the other matches on the card. I guess all that really means is not doing any "important" spots that certain other matches might be doing. Anything else should be acceptable in the time given. If two guys steal the show (according to the majority of the viewers) in the first match, maybe their talent doesn't belong that early in the card. What's funny about this is that Punk bemoaned this concept (of overcompensating and trying to steal the spotlight and such) and said the whole show needs to build to the main event and that sometimes you have pull yourself back when you need to for the better good of the show. Yet he actually works against that idea. He talks about if you are the popcorn match, don't go into it thinking you are a main event act. Punk isn't over-rated nor is he under-rated. Punk has proven that he can flat out work and Joe put all the credit for the success on the triology on Punk saying Punk did everything in and out of the ring that made it work. He is brilliant at playing to the crowd and I honestly believe he is one of the best at it, not to mention his superb promo and commentary skills. He has a huge upside for him but his reputation as a trouble making, egomaniac won't help him out.

Yeah, what he said. I figured it was kinda obvious why you can't donate blood. Not only are you worthless with girls, making shit income, hair-less but you also can't figure out simple logical things like that and assume you have HIV. That's like getting a pimple on your ass and saying you have a tumor.

How can you not find it? Go to ROHwrestling.com and click on SHOP ONLINE and go to RING OF HONOR DVD's and select the show you want. A handful of shows are out of print (being remastered) but about 90% of them are available for purchase, including the highly praised Milestone Series.

We have a Chuck E. Cheese somewhat nearby and it's still a good place to go. I loved this place as a kid. I had 3 straight birthday parties there and recently as in 6 months ago, I took my 8 year old cousin and my ex and her little sister to C.E.C and we had a blast. Pizza was so-so but it was all about the games and the mini-playground. There's something fun about being 20 in a ball-pen with your lady.

I'm a jerk to people with any bumper stickers in general. Stop trying to distract me, assholes. -
Because the falls will probably be short, I'm guessing the first fall will be Flair trying to school Foley on WRESTLING but only to be shocked that Foley came ready to wrestle and loses the first fall. Then Flair ramps up the brawling and surprises Foley by being an aggresive "stunt-man" style worker and Flair scores a bloody pin. I think that'll be the sell, the wrestlers doing the opposite of their "expertise". It's 2/3 falls because of the natural historic connection with Flair and Steamboat.
-
The only thing worthwhile is to see exactly what will Foley do with Flair as the heel. I like Foley as a heel and I think he works best in that role and playing against the ultimate face in his home crowd? Foley will be interesting to watch. Flair will bleed and bump as that's all he is good for aside from the occasional good promo. The crowd will be hot which is a given. This match meant something five years ago, when the whole thing began. Now Flair is even more broken down and Foley's smarky persona is more exposed then ever.

6:14: Busting Budgets, Squatters And Balls

Yeah? I was there for my final 2 years of school. Having went to each HS's, it's night and day. I always found it fitting that the LAST graduating class of your HS was pretty much considered the worst and most embarassing class in Mason's history. It was the perfect way to close the proverbial doors on it. I was one of the rare people who enjoyed the old HS building more. Sure, maybe the new building had an incredible AC system, state of the art top of the line entertainment center, the harvard rooms, the plush reclining seats, the huge cafe, the swimming pools but I liked sweaty hot delapidated building much more. That felt like a HS, the other one was a mall. -

Wow. Even more things I have in common with Swift. I too, went to Mason High. -
That's just the eyeliner fading out. I'm just surprised he hasn't gotten rid of Maria yet. I figured he would be on at least 3 divas by this point.

I'm going on a limb and saying you're embarrassed to be a wrestling fan. T-shirts that read "SIMPLY RAVISHING" or "Mr. Perfect" without a oiled up half naked guy on it would sell better and aren't embarassing.

Aww come on now..I didnt notice that post about moving until today and it reminded my of the fact that my supposed ideal match is in Alaska somewhere. oh, and to answer Hawk34, um..I dont have an excuse, but since I haven't heard from my friend or this girl since, Im asuming, to quote the magic 8 ball.."outlook not good". Of course, I never really got my hopes up about this anyway cause I figured I blew it to start with so its no big deal. Yeah, you blew it. No question. I hope that meager paycheck you got will provide comfort.

The show took a slight dip from last week but that is to be expected. The difference was that this episode was much more comedic then last week and that felt fresh. Probie not knowing his age, Lou's drunken stupor, Teddy's love for prison, Lou's rage and Tommy's interaction with Mrs. Turbody.

It's only a matter of time before TNA books a show in NYC.

I know it isn’t normal of me to follow up a blog so quickly but I was bored and I know I am coming down with something. Whatever trendy summer flu is around, it’s seeking a home to bury these bones. I only get sick (really sick, not the sniffles or headaches) but the kind of sick that renders the toilet seat to be your lone comfort and essentially drains you, once every 2 years. Since I have a really bad feeling that it’s time for it again (last visit was winter 2004)…I went ahead and finished up as much work as I could today in preparation for the days I’ll miss. Luckily, we’re smooth sailing and my absence won’t detour things. The real bitch is? I will obviously be using my sick days, I hate losing these. I was supposed to take a vacation with my gf sometime in the next month or so (naturally we haven’t planned a fucking thing), so that might be in jeopardy. I get paid vacation, but if im going to be off for a few days. I might have to X the trip. I never get sick when It would benefit me. It’s early this summer, but I am already thinking about college. I want to take a full semester of classes again but I can’t with work…I cant decide at this moment what is better for me… Pursuing my education or leaving it for a well paying job that I don’t enjoy. I’ll struggle with this (in)decision for the next two months until I finally decide. - It’s June 14th, and roughly that means it is basically the mid-way point of 2006 and I’ve made a rough edition of my BEST OF 2006 lists Wrestler of the ½ Year 1. Bryan Danielson 2. Mysterio 3. Chris Benoit 4. Kurt Angle 5. Samoa Joe 6. KENTA 7. Austin Aries 8. Marufuji 9. Nigel McGuiness 10. Roderick Strong 11. Christopher Daniels 12. Finlay 13. Paul London 14. Homicide 15. Shawn Michaels (After a down year, Benoit is back in form. Samoa Joe hasn't busted out his now annual 5* match but there is still 6 1/2 months left and the inevitable Danielson/Joe re-match. McGuiness is the biggest surprise this year as he has improved tremendously, which has to be attributed to his NOAH tours and his elevated efforts in ROH. Homicide will probably have a hot second half as his shoulder is healed and he's done with the blood feud with Cabana. Match of the ½ Year 1. Blood Generation Vs DO-FIXER (3.31-Supercard of Honor) 2. Kurt Angle Vs The Undertaker (2.19-No Way Out) 3. Jack Evans and Roderick Strong Vs Briscoes (3.25-Best in the World) 4. Bryan Danielson and Samoa Joe Vs KENTA and Naomichi Marufuji (3.25-Best in the World) 5. Kurt Angle Vs Mysterio (6.2-Smackdown) 6. Chris Benoit Vs Finlay (5.21-Judgment Day) 7. Samoa Joe Vs AJ Styles Vs Christopher Daniels (2.12-Against all Odds) 8. Colt Cabana Vs Homicide (4.1-Better then Our Best) 9. Bryan Danielson Vs Roderick Strong (3.31-Supercard of Honor) 10. Mick Foley Vs Edge (4.2-WrestleMania 22) 11. Mysterio Vs Finlay (3.24-Smackdown) 12. Bryan Danielson Vs Nigel McGuiness(4.29-Weekend of Champions Night 2) 13. Jimmy Jacobs Vs BJ Whitmer (3.30-Dragon Date Challenge) 14. Samoa Joe Vs Christopher Daniels (4.13-iMPACT) 15. Randy Orton Vs Chris Benoit (1.27-Smackdown) Surprisingly stronger year from WWE thus far then 2005.

You could drag Chris Kreski's corpse out and ECW will still be doomed with you know who having the final say.

There was a big deal made in a mid-size suburb outside of Cincy last fall when a local tavern owner placed a sign that read "FOR SERVICE SPEAK ENGLISH" and it was there for about 3 months and no one said anything until some uptight hippie saw it and went crying. The bar owner basically said "Fuck you, we don't have non-english speaking servers. If you don't speak english, we cant serve you." So the moron who got all upset got his group together and tried to protest but even the local mexicans told them to fuck off. I guess the hippie group didn't bother to notice that the tavern was located in the "ghetto" (which isn't remotely close to an actual ghetto) of the overly white upscale community. So the tavern mainly served the people this group thought was being discriminated. The sign is still up there today. -
HTQ on the debut of ECW on Sci-Fi
Hawk 34 commented on Hunter's Torn Quad's blog entry in Straight Shooting
*Yawn*. I've found ranting about last night's show to be almost as boring and meaningless as the show itself. What did people expect? They rushed this with zero prepreation, direction and focus. McMahon is out of touch and Heyman is a puppet. Angle is a joke as EXTREME and the entire "promotion" is geared towards a RAW storyline that isn't even neccesary. Vince did this with the XFL as well. He rushed it with virtually zero prep time and mass hype. The first product out of the gate was a BOMB and it never recovered despite the increase of quality later that season but it was already finished. Vince has only done two things right and both of those were ideas he took from someone else (AWA with Hogan and Attitude from ECW). He makes money because he is a good businessman when it comes to wrestling but a horrible creative mind. ECW might improve in 4 months once McMahon gets bored and Heyman finally gets to play with himself but ANY chance of gaining relevance was essentially thrown out the door last night for good. -
So what excuse are you going to use this weekend?

So they canned a guy who can still provide actual comedy and is servicable on Heat and popcorn matches but they'll push worthless bums like Tatanka.
