  1. I feel sorry for any reporter forced to attend the SNE premiere. Can you imagine being trapped a giant surreal inside joke that you didn't get?

    46. Rest of the lists.

You never talk to me on aim .
  3. In that period, no, Hunter never beat Benoit in any fashion. I don't think he even got his job back when Benoit went back down the card. Yes, he got his job back.
  4. Why the wrist? I've been designing my future tattoo for awhile now and I made a decision to get it on my 25th birthday. I figure if i means something to me now, it'll still mean something to me at 25. I guess, I got 5 more years of life to go through to really decide what I want to represent for myself. When I was 18, I was certain I wanted this skull tattoo on my left shoulder, I'm glad I was wise enough to not do it. I am currently trying to blend a tattoo that'll have a certain inspirational lyric that I always connected with and use that with an image of an eye(I'm hoping to use my future wife's eye as my final motivation for that specific eye).
  5. I don't know if I like the idea of a promotion built around "wrestling as a sport" having slow-motion spots in a wrestling match. Ring of Honor seems to want to cater more to "smart marks" these days instead of hardcore fans of professional wrestling. Comedy matches have always been in the business. ROH hasn't done the "wrestling=sport" since the early inception in 2002. It's been storyline drive since late 2002, with a stronger emphasis on fuller cards rather then the indy dream match shows of 2002/2003. The difference between ROH and TNA/WWE, the stories are creative, simple and effective and it's still about the quality inside the ring. Kikitaru is a comedy worker as Delirious can be from time to time (he's now pushed as a more credible wrestler, rather then a comedy act). It's hardly a negative to have a lower-card comedy match that actually delivers. Of course they want to cater to the smark mark crowd, that's their niche market they design the promotion around and they have been succesful at it.
  6. Two undeserved MVPs Delgado should have got it in '03 and Ortiz last year How did Ortiz deserve a MVP? A-Rod beat Papi in every meaningful stat aside from RBI's and walks (which wasn’t a big gap, anyways). He was just as "clutch" as Ortiz and he actually played defense, something Ortiz doesn't.
  7. -The usual Pre-Show Matches (i) Bobby Dempsey d. Rhett Titus with a death valley driver. (ii) Top of the Class Trophy: Derrick Dempsey d. Shane Hagadorn with a spinebuster. Main Show (1) Colt Cabana d. Kikitaro via powerbomb (2) Homicide & Ricky Reyes d. Dunn & Marcos in 7 minutes when Reyes made Marcos tap to the Dragon Sleeper - Adam Pearce is out, appealing to Homicide to join Team ROH. He says CZW has been kicking their ass and 'Cide has been a part of ROH since day one. Pearce says 'Cide needs to make a decision tonight and what he wants his legacy in ROH to be. 'Cide threw down the mic and left. (3) Jimmy Rave d. Jimmy Yang via Greetings from Ghana in about 12 minutes. Yang went up for Yang Time, but Daizee got on the apron and knocked him down, allowing Rave to hit Greetings from Ghana... Daizee also interfered earlier in the match and apparently hit a sweet inverted DDT out of a tilt-a-whirl set-up. HUGE TP shower for Rave - way more than last night, apparently. Good match. Post-match, Yang got on the mic and said some stuff (not sure what - probably the usual thanks) and then called out Bruce Leroy, who came out of the crowd to join him in the ring. Yang then challenged Rave & Nana to a tag match with he and Leroy on 6/17 in NYC. Leroy got on the mic and challenged Nana. No response from the Embassy. Nigel's out for a promo. Shelley's not wrestling, so Nigel issues an open challenge to any champion, past or present. Enter: JAY LETHAL. I could hear the crowd going nuts for that. (4) ROH Pure Title: Nigel McGuinness © d. Jay Lethal in about 15 minutes after two Towers of London. Really good match, Greg said. Crowd was way behind Lethal. They announced a return on 8/5 with KENTA. -Starts with Danielson cutting a promo where he calls Delirious stupid and says he doesn't deserve a title shot. Says Nigel doesn't deserve a title shot, either. Then he slammed the fans for wanting to see christian and called everyone in the locker room retards - singling out Samoa Joe, Daniels, and Delirious. He offers Delirious one last change to chance to leave and go home. Delirious wasn't moving through this whole spiel; Dragon mocks the crowd some more. Then Delirious got up and took the mic - he cuts his usual charmingly incomprehensible promo, the gist of which is that he's gonna win the title and kick Dragon's ass. Crowd was WAY behind Delirious.- (5) ROH World Title: Bryan Danielson © d. Delirious in 25 minutes with a small package. Delirious got out of the crossface chickenwing and out of cattle mutilation twice. He almost got Danielson to tap with his crossface cobra clutch. He was making a big comeback at the end when Danielson got the small package out of nowhere. Awesome match. (6) Christopher Daniels d. Matt Sydal in 16 minutes with a roll-up counter when Sydal went for the Angel's Wings. Really good match. Post-match, Daniels got on the mic and put Sydal over, wished him luck in Japan, and asked him if he'd please stop challenging Daniels to matches. Sydal said maybe one more after he got back from Japan. (7) ROH Tag Titles: Austin Aries & Roderick Strong © d. Jay & Mark Briscoe in 20 minutes. Finish was a little complicated - Jay hit Roderick with the spike Jay-driller and went for the cover; at the same time, Aries rolled up Mark for the cover. So it was a double-pin situation, but since Aries and Mark were the legal men, that was the pin that counted. Definitely looks like they're setting up a rematch. Great match - all action and the crowd was really hot for the finish. (8) Samoa Joe NC (?) Necro Butcher The whole thing went around 25-30 minutes, Necro came out through the crowd and knocked out Cruse... Then Joe came out. Necro KO'd the ROH ref (Kehner) and Joe KO'd the CZW ref (Remsberg). They fought around the ring for like five minutes and then Hero came out and they beat on Joe two on one. Claudio came out with a chair and nailed Joe. Then Pearce and Whitmer came out and they brawled all over the arena for like 15 minutes. The students carried out Joe. It was Hero/Necro/Claudio vs. Pearce/Whitmer and they teased a bunch of table spots (like powerbombing Hero from the apron through a table on the outside) The CZW guys went to superplex Whitmer through a table with Pearce on it and everything went dark and Homicide's music hit. Place went NUTS. 'Cide teased siding with CZW, then started beating the crap out of Hero. The students & co. drove out Hero and Claudio, which led to: (9)Homicide d. Necro Butcher in a crazy brawl. Sinclair came out and rang the bell, so this was an official match. They brawled around the ringside area for a while, then 'Cide told the fans to help him out. The threw a TON of chairs into the ring - Greg estimated at least 50% of the chairs were in there. Necro was laying on the mat, BURIED under chairs. 'Cide went back in and gave Necro a piledriver - kickout. Necro gave 'Cide a tiger driver - kickout. Then 'Cide suplexed necro off apron onto a bunch of chairs on the floor. He rolled him back in ring - Necro kicks out. He gave him a splash (I think) - kickout. Then 'Cide nailed him with a lariat for the win... Post-match, 'Cide said Necro can come back to Ring of Homicide anytime he wants.
  8. Isn't Over the Hedge coming out that weekend too? See no Evil is going to die a quick painlful death. A kids movie and a movie for the middle age folks, leaves SNE as the virtual teen/young adult movie. It'll finish 4th but won't bomb.
  9. For someone who hates ESPN so much, you pay alot of attention to that network. Yeah because there's other networks airing the game... No, but there are other networks and media outlets covering the game. He's talking about the hype and coverage.
  10. Great, the LAST guy you want at the plate with RISP. edit: told you
  11. In 40 years, it won't be Rudy or LOTR that defines Astin's career but Encino Man.
  12. Then change that.
  13. Joe/Punk II ( I-***1/2 and III-****3/4). Actually, I perfer to watch JvP III over II because It manages to get you so caught up into because it actually has a finish and the intensity and pacing of the match is so different from the first two volumes. II, was just a better match period. Joe/Kobashi was a hands down ***** and it still holds up as a spectacle and a match. I didn't rank it #1 in 2005 though, I actually gave that to Gibson/Danielson(but it's not a ***** match and I actually have it at ****3/4, which I'm sure is confusing). Those were the last two ***** I felt comfortable with giving that prestige too. You might have to go back awhile to get another 5* from me.
  14. The only guy I can think of that he might've ruined is Mark Prior, and even that's iffy. The damage of Kerry Wood was done well before Baker arrived. Is there anyone in San Francisco he wrecked? He wrecked his credibility as a father but as far as his job with pitchers? No one, I can recall.
  15. I hate espn. YOU IDIOTS. I want the reds to win too but you don't mention this until the 9TH! Told Ya. It's your fault ESPN. This is easily the 100th time in the last 5 years they jinxed a pitchers Perfecto by cutting in and it's broken right away.
  16. A really good pitchers duel in Cincy right now. edit: idiot McCracken. Seriously, how you not catch that ball?
  17. For someone who hates ESPN so much, you pay alot of attention to that network.
  18. It would require something really creative because doing the old "evil ref doesn't make the final 3 count" or the "mass run-in causes a non-finish" or the double pin or god forbid, the Montreal finish won't make any impact.

    46. Rest of the lists.

How did I get on this list? beyond our shared love for Katharine (but I'm hardly the only one) I do agree with your top(bottom?) 4 for the bottom list. Almost dead on.
  20. Problem is that Edge is the only credible and legitimate main event caliber heel on the Raw roster. Edge, was a draw and continues to be and Cena regained interest from the crowd during that brief period with Edge in January.
  21. Adu, hasn't gotten to the level they need for WC play and he isn't even a sexy name anymore, so the whole "marketing political" excuse isn't there.
  22. Squash matches always served a purpose and that is to put that team over. It was a very standard practice to have tag teams squash jobber teams. That went away during the ratings war and it's good thing they are going back to that formula because you can't give away matches that could mean something every week. Advance the storylines, put the teams over and make the match mean something. Also, it is way to early to throw Lashley into a program with JBL over the title. The plan is Angle/Lashley at Mania (something I don't agree with), you cant stick Lashley into a world title feud now. You need to build that momentum. He's still very green and has alot of room to improve. JBL, as champion doesn't give you many options but not many do. Smackdown needs new blood now that Angle, Rey, Orton are gone. Batista is still 2 months away and it would appear they are going with Booker/Batista upon his return. Of course, you always have Benoit as an option but JBL/Benoit has already been wasted and we know they aren't making that move. Basically they are booked into a corner. Actually, I would bring Angle back around mid-june after JBL spends the time cowardly defending the title against jobbers like Gibson, Nunzio and Hardy. JBL complains about the lack of real challengers, Angle makes a surprise return. Sets up the challenge for GAB. JBL, cheats to win the match. Batista returns at GAB to announce he has been cleared to return to the ring, he confronts Booker T and they start up their deal. JBL/Angle, which will probably be loaded with badly acted comedy skits is carried over for SummerSlam in a gimmick match, Batista/Booker in a street fight headline Smackdown's side for 'Slam. Angle wins the title and Batista goes over Booker. I would perfer Batista/Angle to get a long build up for Mania 23, as I think that match would have MUCH more to offer then Lashley/Angle. However, You can't depend on Batista or Angle these days. Have a credible back-up plan in line just in case Angle or 'Tista go down again before Mania.
  23. Kikutaro, right? Yes, aka Ebessan (btw, what's the story behind the name change there?)
  24. On-Going results Pre-Show Matches: 1) Bobby Dempsey & Alex Payne defeat Ernie Osiris & Rhett Titus. Osiris pinned by Bobby Dempsey after a Death Valley Driver. 2) Pelle Primeau wins the #1 Kikitaruship Four Corner Survival. Pelle Primeu pins Derek Dempsey with a rollup in about 7-8 minutes. Other two in the match were Shane Hagadorn and Mitch Franklin. Top of The Class trophy was not on the line. Pelle vs Kikitaru later tonight! Ring Of Honor - Long Island, New York 1) Matt Sydal defeats Jimmy Yang after a Shooting Star Press in about 9 minutes. After the match, Yang is on the mic and told the fans to check him out on WWE.com. 2) Four Corner Survival - McGuinness vs Cabana vs Delirious vs Daniels Interrupted during intros by Christian Cage. Christian asked Colt Cabana to be his tag team partner tonight...Colt Cabana accepted. Cabana & Christian vs Danielson & ??? as of now. This brings out the "American Dragon" Bryan Danielson. Danielson is asking Christopher Daniels to be his partner. The match is set- Bryan Danielson & Christopher Daniels vs Christian Cage & Colt Cabana. Danielson also promised Daniels a future title shot. Match changed leading to... 2) Three Way Dance: Delirious defeats Nigel McGuinness & Kikitaru Lots of comedy, including slow motion spots. Delirious makes Kikitaru tap with his relatively new submission finisher around the 10 minute mark. 3) Alex Shelley & Jimmy Rave defeat The Rottweilers by DISQUALIFICATION. Match lasted around 19 minutes. Lots of interplay between Prince Nana and J-Train. Rotts were DQ'd when Julius Smokes interfered and attacked Jimmy Rave. After the match, Homicide responded to Jim Cornette with "F*ck you people, and f*ck this company" and the Rottweilers left. Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli have stormed the ring. BJ Whitmer and Adam Pearce enter. 4) KOW Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli defeat Adam Pearce & BJ Whitmer. ROH Official Todd Sinclair was going at it with CZW "ref" Bryce Remsburg during the fight. The Necro Butcher aided Hero in pinning Adam Pearce. Samoa Joe hit the ring, but CZW retreated. Return- August 4 w/ KENTA & AJ Styles INTERMISSION **Attendance "about the same as Glory By Honor". Big pop for Christian, but during his promo the crowd seemed 50/50 split between Danielson and Christian.** 5)ROHvideos.com Match: Samoa Joe defeats Apocolypse in 5 minutes. Joe wins after the Musclebuster. 6) Mark Briscoe defeats Roderick Strong in 15 minutes. Briscoe wins after the Wrist Clutch Burning Hammer type move. 7) Jay Briscoe defeats Austin Aries in 18 minutes. Briscoe made Austin submit to the Cobra Clutch. Briscoe worked over the shoulder of Aries throughout the match. 8) Christian & Colt Cabana vs Bryan Danielson & Christopher Daniels. If Daniels & Danielson win, Bryan Danielson owes Christopher Daniels an ROH World Title Match. 9) Christian & Colt Cabana defeat Chris Daniels & Bryan Danielson in 28 minutes. Christian pins Daniels after an Unprettier. Daniels & Danielson didn't get along during the match. At one point, the crowd chanted "F*ck TNA" but Christopher Daniels got on the mic and shut it down saying "this is about pro wrestling, not about TNA". No title shot for Daniels for now.
  25. It's funny because some idiot local sports talk idiot was saying eariler that having Junior on the team again hurts them more then it helps and that the team is better off with Junior on the DL. That shut him up.
