  1. 1. Why were Owen Hart and The British Bulldog feuding with Fake Diesel and Fake Razor and then Mankind and Vader in late 96-early 97 as Tag Team Champions? Did the WWF have no face tag teams at that time? So were Owen and Bulldog tweeners in those storylines? It was rare in those days for heels to feud with heels. If I am correct, I don't think they faced a face tag team until they lost the titles to Austin/HBK on Raw in May of 97. 2. Was Sid a heel or face from November 1996-March 1997. I really can't tell from the way they booked him. Attacking Pete Lotherio, and facing Shawn in his hometown, Bret, and Taker, all made the fans cheer the other guy instead of Sid. So perhaps he was a tweener?
  2. First, I'd like to start off saying, if this thread has been done already, I apoligize. If I tried to type this in the search function, I'm sure the results would be insane. So basically, if you could go back in time, to where a certain wrestler got a belt, but you felt like another wrestler should've gotten the belt at that specific time instead. After reading the What If thread and the whole Austin-RVD storyline that didn't get pushed, I'm gonna start off with that one. Instead of Angle defeating Austin at Unforgiven, RVD should've won the WWF title. It was the right time, and the crowd would've ate that stuff up HUGE. Another one I'm gonna go with was HHH retaining at Summerslam 03 in the Chamber. Goldberg was actually over with that crowd and that would've made him a monster again winning the title in a match like that. It was the right moment for him, but good ol' HHH had to retain. Vader should've won the WWF title at Survivor Series instead of Sid. I still don't understand why they put the belt on him at that time. Vader would've been a better champion, but maybe he was damaged goods by then or something. Edit: one more that popped up in my head, Jericho over HHH Raw in April of 2000. That was the right time for Jericho and once again, the fans ate that stuff up HUGE when he got the pin.
  3. So anyone got an official rating out there for the show?
  4. That's a good one. I think he would have started as one of Vince's top Corporation lackeys but then after being done, he would have done a huge face turn and become the #3 babyface in the company (Behind Austin and Mankind) Imagine that, RVD behind Mankind and Austin. So another What If that comes out of this. Where would The Rock be then? A heel? Probably not because clearly he was becoming the #2 face on the roster during mid to late 99. Also, does this mean that Triple H never got his push? Now, THAT would be a different world if RVD got a push ahead of Hunter if he was in the WWF at that time.
  5. I haven't been following Smackdown close enough lately but I have a question. The Long-Krystal-Guerrero storyline. What is the payoff here? Heel turn from Long? Long loses job to Guerrero and it was a step up between Krystal and Vickie all along? Also, is Guerrero a, shudder, face now? Is Krystal a face, heel, etc??? I do think a new Smackdown GM would freshen things up, but not Vickie.
  6. What if someone else other than BILLY GUNN won the 1999 King of the Ring? Better yet, what if Billy Gunn got a WWF World Title run? Also, what if the WWF allowed a Austin-RVD program in 2001. Would it draw money and ratings? We're talking the period here where RVD was HOT and over with the crowd.
  7. Times like this I wish Bischoff was still sending Fed Ex's of a different kind obviously.
  8. Or he could make a team out of all of the kids that he has. And those are just the ones he knows about! If Seattle really wanted to "save their Sonics" why not sign Kemp and Payton and get Detlef Schrempf and Sam Perkins out of retirement. A starting 5 consisting of Payton Green/Wally Durant Kemp Perkins 6th man - Schrempf Sign Jim McIlvaine for old times sake too. Now that is a reunion tour I'd pay too watch. Payton to Kemp! Reminds me of NBA Jam.
  9. Does anyone know if a replica WWF undisputed title exists for sale? Since it changed roughly around the same time WWF becamse WWE was it enough time to get a few out there on the market?
  10. What if WCW let DX into the building and on TV live on Nitro? Would they: a) get their asses kicked by the nWo or WCW wrestlers b) Hall and Nash align with DX c) DX suceeds and creates havoc in WCW If this happened, wouldn't WCW get the ratings since it was on THEIR show? How would WWE get ratings? This is something I've always wondered about because people would tune into WCW to see DX, thus helping WCW's ratings, so how does WWE benefit here?
  11. So anyone here gonna line up and watch it first thing tommorrow? I'll probably wait this one out and read all the reviews to see if it lives up to the hype.
  12. What a old school week. Who else will return from the past? Shawn Kemp is my pick. I think the reign man could help a team ready for a title run.
  13. Because the 10+ years before when they worked with Benoit didn't matter, right? Since it's a WWE world and they control the footage, I'm sure the heavily emphasize the Triple H feud and HBK feud during those 2-4 months in 2004. I mean, hell, one of their biggest Wrestlemania Main Events now pretty much no longer exists. It was probably one of the bigger feuds for Hunter and Shawn so its gotta take something away from their careers, albeit not as much as other guys would. I threw Bret in there because of the Owen Match and Mayhem where he won the WCW title. Sure, it may not be a long time they feuded, but those were two of Bret's better moments in WCW. So without Benoit, Bret's career in WCW amounted to nothing really.
  14. Can anyone believe it was EIGHT years ago today, one of the best, if not THE BEST debut in WWE history occured?
  15. So will they bring in Lawrence Taylor to battle Pacman? If they really want to stick it to WWE this could work. I'm sure it would get even more mainstream press.
  16. Booker T Oh yeah, forgot about him. I think they've had what? Maybe as many as 15 televised matches in WCW and WWE? He definately takes the cake here.
  17. So which Wrestler's career will be hurt the most by Benoit in terms of old footage no longer shown and them working with Benoit? Flair and the horseman from 1996-1999? Jericho from WCW and WWE? Angle? Then again, they really don't count him anymore these days in the WWE. Triple H? Shawn Michaels? Eddie Guererro? Bret Hart?
  18. Can someone tell me what was the payoff for the Luger-Tatanka feud during the summer of 1994? Tatanka claims Luger sold out, only to sell out him self. Personally, I loved that storyline, but where did it go after Tatanka turned heel? Seems the next thing I remember, was Luger and Bulldog forming a tag team.
  19. So does anyone else think that when Lashley returns, he returns a heel and gets his wish. How about him and Armando together? Heel Lashley vs. Face Umaga?

Wrestlescale - Results You are central in your beliefs about wrestling. You accept the idea of both old-school and sports entertainment but are not extreme in either way. You believe that angles and matches are equally important to create a good wrestling product. Most similar booker: Paul Heyman Most similar promotion: TNA 2005 Should I be ashamed I got the first TNA 2005?
  21. The latest on the Hart Foundation: So it looks like Teddy is the deal breaker here. Anyone placing any bets?
  22. So looking back, who knew two months after being draft by ECW, Benoit would be creamated. I guess this news story has all but fizzled out? No more mentions on Nancy Grace?

    ECW on 8/7

So is it too early, or well justified that if Punk loses again, he's a choker in the mold of Lex Luger back in the WWF days?
  24. Would that Bear do the job to this bear? Edit: After looking up the bears, I didn't know WWE had a full line of them...... That Carlito bear doesn't seem too thrilled.
  25. What if Montreal never happened? What I mean is that, what if Bret just jobbed cleanly to Michaels with a superkick, 1-2-3, Michaels wins the title Bret goes to WCW, no hype. Where would the business be?
