  1. Eric Milton was a flyball pitcher with a higher than average ERA when the Reds signed him to a 3 year, $25.5 Million deal. He went 8-15, 6.48 ERA and gave up 40 HR's his first year. Next year = 8-8, 5.20, 20. Last year = 0-4, 5.17, 4 HR in 6 starts. I seem to recall that his salary increased in each year the way it was set up. If anyone has relative salaries for the free agent pitchers the year he was signed, I'd appreciate it for comparison's sake. Final stats as a Red: 16-27, 5+ ERA, and 64 HR's in 66 starts. I don't think it is necessarily the worst contract ever, but I don't know what the Reds were thinking when they paid that much for a pitcher that didn't have that big of an upside. It is easy to look back and say he didn't produce, but I don't know many people at all that thought he would produce in the first place.

  9. Damn you, Venkman! You beat me. I was going to make the more obvious and use my own name, so touche for going the higher route, which was even funnier. By the way, my birthday is the day after Enigma's. I'm pretty sure he got a birthday thread and I didn't. Sad, huh?
  10. Happ birthday to Al, Czech, King, UT Broward, Si82, and SnukaIsSexy, whoever you are.
  11. Made this name possible.
  12. Yeah, I said I'm getting it done over the weekend and early Monday morning. Thanks for the congrats...I've been working hard.
  13. I figured it was the battery, but fearing it was a bad alternator. It ended up being the battery. I bought a new battery after getting a boost, just in case. Renting a car wouldn't have been bad at all as far as costs go, because the pay out would be much greater than the cost of renting said car. However, I lived on the phone today and worked out the closing of the deals for over the weekend and EARLY Monday morning. That way, I can get back to my office on Monday morning and just have the files dated for today.

  16. I believe without a doubt that Bonds used steroids. Some of them he might have used unknowingly, not knowing for certain that they were steroids. Some. However, athletes train hard to stay in the elite or make it to the elite. The man had personal trainers, personal chefs, and a very nice gym in his house. If I had that sort of set-up, I would be able to change my body fairly well. Supplements are deemed okay as long as they don't contain anything on the banned substance list. Well, a lot of what Conte was using with his athletes were not banned substances because they hadn't been "discovered" yet. The problem I have with it all is the media is acting like Barry Bonds would still be a 160 pound man like when he first came into the league if it were not for him juicing up. The man got bigger and stronger as he got older just like a lot of people tend to do. I have friends that don't lift weights and they are a lot thicker and more muscular since high school and college. Bonds may have taken steroids, but he was putting up good numbers before, like Cheech said, and he was getting bigger before he supposedly got on the gas. Some people make it out like he would only have about 300 homers if he never juiced.
  17. Maybe they have some things planned that need to happen now so it will have time to develop for the Rumble? I think it would be cool to have a couple of guys make a good showing in the battle royal so they were "signed" to one of the shows. Great way for D'Lo to return, but if Sid could pass the wellness tests, it would be even better for him. Imagine him tearing up shit and eliminating the majority of the others in the battle royal.
  18. It wasn't my choice. The employees of this group I am working with had 90 days to enroll in our Long Term Care package. They were given the cutoff dates. A ot of people wanted to wait to the last minute. I would have signed everyone up on day one and had no problem doing so. I can't make people sign up early.
  19. My car won't start this morning, not even a clicking sound. I was headed on a long trip to close four deals which would pay me a decent amount and allow me to hit my year end validation numbers. I spent the early morning getting ready, packing up my things, dismantling my dog's kennel and getting her things ready, then loading the car. The trip was going to be to my parents' house two hours away to drop off the dog, drive 45 minutes to close the first two deals, drive back to my parent's house, then meet with the other two people. I have called to touch base with everyone, but due to their schedules, I won't be able to get down their in time. It wouldn't be so bad if today wasn't the deadline on closing these cases due to a 90 day enrollment period. My only hope is that it is just a dead battery (which I have under warranty), and when my neighbor gets home we can boost it and go get it replaced. I would hate to pay to have it towed to a shop where they are going to charge an arm and a leg to hook it up to their computer and make me pay outrageous prices for whatever part is bad. As for my four cases, I can only hope that I can meet with them early Monday and date the paperwork for today. This sucks!

  21. I hope they got my screening completed before they go to jail. I'd hate to not get a return on my $50,000.
  22. Thanks. I have always been thought of as a funny guy for as long as I can remember, but the total lack of posting I would do on here obviously wouldn't show that. I would like to thank God, more posting time, and Carlito Brigante being retarded for my rise in funniness. Edit---Oh yeah, KOAB has a crush on me now.
  23. Put together a pretty kick-ass page about this board.
