  1. $75,000 isn't very much at all. Karl Rove got something like $3 million for his advance. If anything, it's such a paltry figure, it means he probably didn't do it for the money.
  2. I didn't think about it like that. Sawyer has seemed protective over both Claire and Hurley this season. He's becoming more and more like Jack, which is probably intentional. I also think Sawyer might prefer it on the island, anyway.
  3. He was in the Matrix sequels and was Mercutio in Baz Lurhman's Romeo + Juliet. Which is probably more high profile than anything else anyone had done at least in terms of box office movie hits . He was the only one I recognised in the pilot. My point was that Lost has a great cast, but a lot of the actors are under utilised while some of the cast are overexposed. I think Jack, Kate, Sawyer and possibly even Locke have had more flashback episodes than they really need.
  4. During the hiatus they can, but I don't think they can do anything during filming which is like 9 months of the year. Or that's how most tv shows work. I think Harold was always angry because he was probably the most famous actor when the show started, but he never had anything that good to do.
  5. Regarding Perrineue: I've read its actually quite frustrating to be an actor on lost if you aren't one of the major characters (locke, kate, jack, sawyer). Because its such a large ensamble cast, the pay isn't terrific and they don't get that much air time. I think that was why Harold left the first time. I remember Dominic Monaghan saying a lot of the cast just hang out with nothing to do for days on end and it was quite frustrating. Look at Emilie De Ravin: Her character's been doing nothing for the past 2 years and now she's doing even less with this whole claire gone AWOL storyline. But she's still under contract so she can't do anything else. When you get episodes centred around Jack and his tatoos, I could understand why the rest of the cast feel under appreciated, like Perrineue does.
  6. Harold Perrineau is pissed! http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/tvguide/365208_tvgif30.html
  7. That's just completely wrong. I don't see how him making a choice to jump out of the chopper to save everyone else was anything other than him choosing to stay behind. Jack made it sound like a completely different sitation to what it was though. And was Sawyer supposed to do? Kick Hurley or Kate out of helicoper? Jack wasn't going anywhere, so Sawyer had to sacrifice or they would all die. He didn't have much of a choice at all. For Jack to turn around and say 'he choose to stay behind' is pretty dickish.
  8. Thank God they didn't go with the Sawyer in the coffin ending. That would have made even less sense. Locke is the only one to make sense outside of Ben. What the hell could Desmond or Sawyer do to really impact enough lives on the island. With Locke leading the others I can see him doing a lot of bad, with good intentions. I hope they keep most of the show on the island next season. I understand they're going to have to be flash forwarding a lot, but the show is best when it's on the island. Anyone care to guess the amount of forwards to backs next season 80/20? 90/10? Are they really flash fowards anymore? Woulnd't it be less trouble to just skip foward the people on the island three years? And have everything, except flashbacks, take place in the present?
  9. Thank God they didn't go with the Sawyer in the coffin ending. That would have made even less sense.
  10. If Hurley doesn't go w/ Locke, Jack & Sawyer wouldn't have had to go back to rescue him, and may have been able to start the island evacuation earlier, possible staying ahead of the freighter explosion. I dunno, I'm just pitching here. That line does seem very odd now. That wasn't the quote. I forget what it was exactly, but something along the lines of going w/ his emotions caused something Sayid regretted. Nothing about not killing someone on the island. Even then, it doesn't make sense. Unless it happened after he left and it possibly caused Nadia's death. I do remember hearing that line and thinking Sayid had the chance to stop someone/something but didn't, and now people on the island were dead because of it. I was actually waiting for that moment in the finale but it never came. I think they probably exaggerated a lot in the flashfowards for dramatic effect: Jack saying Saywer chose to stay behind, when its very clear he didn't choose to stay behind, Hurley emphaisizing how much of mistake it was going with Locke when it wasn't that big a deal, Kate acting with disgust at the suggestion she'd go to Locke's funeral (even if she was angry with him, she'd still care he was dead), they do seem odd when you align them with what actually happened.
  11. I get the feeling Locke was murdered. I'm a lot more interested in what's happening with the people left behind, rather than the O6. I hope they don't shift the attention too much from the island in season 5. I assume they'll still have flashbacks, since we havn't got all of Miles/Charlotte/Farday's backstory.
  12. There were a couple of things that still bother me Hurley telling Jack he should have never went with Locke like it was the biggest mistake he'd ever made...but from what I can see there were no tragic consequnces to him siding with Locke. Ben saying in the The Ecominst Sayid had a chance to kill someone on the island but didn't and now he regrets it. When did this occur? The whole Claire/Aaron helicopter vision of Desmonds...a pretty big deal considering Charlie killed himself because of it. Kate not caring that Locke was dead, or anybody but Jack going to the funeral. I know Locke wasn't always popular, but he did a lot for the people on the island, and probably saved Kate's life more than once. Although, I can probably answer that myself since I think it was written with Michael in mind, but they changed their minds later.
  13. It was an season 1 actress, so its either her, Sun or Kate. It's obviously not going to be the other two because they're looking to be heavily involved next year.
  14. I feel quite bad for Juliet now. Everyone else still on the island wants to be there, but she's been desperate to get off for years, and now it looks like she was there for another three years? And Jack left her as well? Crikey. As far as Clare goes: I've read the actresses' contract has been put on hold, so she won't be in season 5 but will be in season 6.
  15. I know. I don't give a shit who Kate ends up with, but I really want a Des/Penny reunion.
  16. Personally, I think Nick and Hulk are just marginalizing the guy in their mind now, so they don't have to face up to what Nick's done. I
  17. Nick didn't go to jail because the kid got hurt - he went to jail because he drunkenly raced and crashed his car. The kid's injuries is what made it impossible for Nick to get out of it with a "boys will be boys" slap on the wrist. The fact that Nick bragged about getting pulled over - repeatedly - while doing 100+ mph probably didn't really help his case, either. No, Brooke looks like a douchebag in this case, too ... she's the one that posted on her myspace that the kid with the crushed skull was 'never home and always at our house' as if that proved that his mother wasn't a good parent or something comparable. How about this: most kids would hang around at their rich friend's house, especially if that kid's parents bought him beer and pretty much let him do what he wanted. It has nothing to do with how bad of a parent the other kid's mother was ... it's how bad of parents the Bollea parents are. I'm not defending Brooke but at least her and Linda seem to care about John Graziano. I totally disagree with Linda saying she cared more about him than his own mother, but she does seem to feel something for the poor guy. He may actually have been distanced from his family and closer than to the Hogans, we don't know. But it could be a valid point. Compare this to Hulk and Nick who just coldly dismiss the guy and say he deserved what he got. That's borderline sociopathic.
  18. Strange. That ended up being the saddest thing I've read today. The sooner that guy kills himself, the safer we'll all be before reality implodes in on his mental retardation. For fuck's sake... "Muslim"... "pastor". No, just no. Fail. I found it scary that he's the highest elected official in the county. So, he's one of the smarter ones!? I don't know if he is genuinely that ignorant or its a willful ignorance, where he knows Obama probably isn't a Muslim, but doesn't pick up a newspaper or watch any of the news shows, so he can keep believing it.
  19. I can't imagine how awful it must be to lose a child because of this war, and then have someone so heavily involved in the administration turn around at say 'it wasn't neccessary at all'. Mcclellan saying that Bush wanted a war so he could cement his legacy is horrific...so thousands of people are dead because one man wanted to boost his ego? Wow. I hope the guilt haunts him for the rest of his life. All the reporters now denying the blatantly true allegations that they went along with the war, and didn't ask any questions, have blood on their hands too.
  20. Poor Bill. He's just really desperate for Hillary to win. Which is quite sweet. I think he knows its over but he can't bring himself to tell her.
  21. This has to be the funniest thing I've read today
  22. Nathan Fillion and Amy Acker were probably the best actors out of the bunch and the ones with the most potential. Shame they're both stuck in cancelled tv show hell. With the right movie, Fillion could be huge. He reminds me of Harrison Ford a lot.
  23. I liked Gellar in Cruel intentions. I think her problem is she just made some very bad movie choices, and nothing that really showcased her talent. She's still miles ahead of the likes of Jessica Biel and Megan Fox. I hear she's actually going back to television now because she doesn't like the scripts she gets offered.
  24. RE: the coffin size. I don't think even the writers knew who was in the coffin last year, and I'm sure they've said they changed their minds more than once on it, so you probably can't look too much into it. .
  25. Death race got moved up to August from September as well because the test audiences went crazy for it, which is a good sign, but Statham's box office record is very hit or miss and there seems to be a backlash against remakes nowadays. I've heard The Happening is really crap. And the trailer doesn't make me that desperate to see it either. I'd be surprised if it managed to make $100 million. I can't see the love guru doing that well, since, despite what many seem to think, Jessica Alba isn't a box office draw. Neither is Mike Myers, apart from when he's doing Austin powers or voice overs for Shrek (and shrek would have been successful without him). I have to agree with the people saying sex and the city won't be a huge hit either. I don't remember that television show being as huge as people act like it was. And I know the x files actually was quite big for a while, but a lot of people went off it in the last few years it was on. I can see tropic thunder doing very well although it looks like it cost a lot, so it might have to do amazing business to just break even.
