Especially the bit where desmond gets through to penny, which was of one of the best acted lost scenes ever, I thought. The econimst wasn't the strongest Sayid episode ever, either. It felt like Andrews was just playing 007 for an episode.

Tickets for the new Batman movie The Dark Knight are so in demand, movie theatres across America plan to open all night to accommodate filmgoers. The film, which officially opens in the U.S. next week, has sparked a frenzy among American moviegoers, who want to catch a glimpse of Heath Ledger's highly-anticipated performance as The Joker as early as possible. Some movie theatres across the U.S. have added 6am screenings for film fanatics who can't be accommodated at the earlier midnight and 3 am showings. Online ticket vendor Fandango.com reports over 1,500 showings for The Dark Knight have been added to theatre rosters across America. In a recent survey, the website estimated 38 per cent of ticket buyers planned to take time off work to see the superhero flick. Batman Begins, the series' last installment, earned over $200 million (GBP100 million) at the U.S. box office after opening in the summer of 2005. imdb.com $200 million dollar weekend here we come... I know all the talk is about ledger getting an oscar nomination, but if its as good as everyone's saying it is, it could end up with a best picture or best director nod. I know the oscar people tend to prefer serious, more realistic films but if LOTR can get oscar wins in the big categories, and that's got elves and hobbits in it, I don't see how batman could be too far fetched for them. Take away the superhero element and its basically a crime drama about a vigilante.

Apparantly, the reason Will Smith turned down the Matrix when he was offered it was because he wanted Neo to tell more jokes. That doesn't sound like an actor who wants to play the same role every time?

You can tell the talented actors when they make even the bad movies seem decent, Deja Vu is a laughable movie, but Washington holds it together. Same with Harrison Ford. I find with people like Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy that when the material sucks (the love guru, Norbit) they usually do too. I like Will Smith but with the exception of Ali he plays the same role in every movie he's in. Maybe that's why he's so successful. Bruce Willis seems to play disgruntled cops an awful lot too.

Its actually been written by forbes that Crowe is one of the worst inversments in hollywood. He's had a lot of flops (Master and commander, a good year, cinderella man) and not that many successes (gladiator, a beautiul mind) and he's still asking for $20 million a movie. I'd also put Nicole Kidman on the list of not being able to justfy such a big check: its been years since she's been in a hit. Bale is interesting. The dark knight is going to be huge, but it might be like Toby Maquire where no one's bothered about seeing them if they're not playing their signature character. He'll probably get paid a fortune for the 3rd batman film though.

I suppose you could include Tom Hanks as well. Since he's always performed consistently at the box office.

It picked a bad time to come out. All the buzz is either for Hancock or the dark knight. To be honest, I don't even expect it to take the top spot.

Angelina Jolie was one of my favourite actresses, but she, brad and their numerous children are everywhere now, and I honestly don't feel like watching her anymore. I think guys like Matt Damon and Christian Bale have the right idea: be as private as you can be. I also think the superhero franchises tend to sell themselves,regardless of who's starring.

There's a clip of an out of it Amy performing ain't too proud to beg with the rolling stones, and all through out Keith Richards was giving her this total 'WTF?' look. You know things are bad when even Keith Richards is appalled at the state your in. Jaggar was a professional though and managed to lead her throughout and stop her from falling down.

Well, yeah. Talk about a lucky escape.

Michelle might as well make the most of the power she has right now. The whole 'you leave your wife and kids for me, and we'll be perfectly happy because its true love' scenario has always been pretty flawed to me anyway. If Taker got bored of his wife that easily who's to say he won't get tired of McCool once the novelty wears off?

Yeah, that was the worst part of the stalker storyline. DDP is married to a woman like Kimberly....and he's going to stalk Sara?

I've heard this version of events for the McCool/Benoit affair - they were having an affair -she left and divorced her husband Jeremy for him, and expected him to do the same with Nancy - He didn't leave Nancy -she broke if off and then found someone who would leave his family for her. Assuming this is true, why Michelle can't settle for a single guy and not have to go around breaking up families is beyond me. I suppose on the brightside, Taker's divorce means we'll never have to put up with Sara's atrocious acting again.

this has got to be one of the worst pics I've seen of her. She barely looks human. I do feel bad for her dad in all this. Unlike Dina Lohan, you can't really accuse the guy of not caring. From what I've read, he just seems to be following her everywhere now, and- uselessly- pleading with her not to do drugs anymore as she goes from one crisis to the next. I dread to think how many interventions he's staged. His daughter is basically dying in front of him.

I remember they played 'love don't cost a thing' at the end of the wedding planner starring Jennifer Lopez, which just seemed odd because the subject of that song (a guy trying to buy a woman's love) had absolutely nothing to do with the plot of the film.

Winehouse is probably a lot worse off than Britney ever was. Britney had drug problems, but even at her worst she hadn't had the type of physical decline Winehouse has had. She's incredibly thin now, and looks about 35. I don't think Britney ever stooped to actually doing drugs while onstage either.

Whenever I see her perform onstage (drunk, doing drugs) I always feel sorriest for her band. I know the money must be good, but who could put up with that?

I would avoid the aintitcool reviews. There's one line in one of them that gives away a lot of the movie. I don't know if the guy meant to do it or not, but I think he might have spilled way more than he meant to.

As far the the chair and gas chamber are concerned, in America at least, I think the prisoner gets a choice between that or lethal injection now. And I have to assume most of them go for the lethal injection. In this case, the man was facing lethal injection.

Elle McPherson was one the worst parts of Batman and Robin, atrocious acting on her part and their relationship wasn't even resolved by the end or anything. Of course the whole film was awful, but she didn't help. I liked Nicole Kidman in Batman forever, though. She had enough star power to make the token girl character interesting. Katie Holmes was just horribly miscast in batman begins, and the best thing they did was dropping her from the sequel.

Why? What is the benefit of letting someone like that live? I believe that if someone allows themselves to devolve to the level of an animal, they should very well be euthanized like a dangerous animal would be. Personally, I think life in jail without possiblity of parole is a lot more of a punishment than a quick, painless death. To me, the arguement isn't whether or not child rapists deserve to die- they do- but whether or not its more of a punishment. Why should they get the easy way out? Life in jail for a child molestor is notoriously awful ( and it wouldn't shock me if this Patrick Kennedy has already had a taste of his own medicine). I'm willing to bet he would probably welcome death at this point. Ian Huntely is actually a good example of this. The guy knows he's going to be in jail forever, and he's tried unsuccessfully to kill himself several times. But there's this feeling of satisfaction and national justice that the guy is rotting in a jail cell when all he wants to do is die.

I was a little shocked when I read that. That's just bascially asking to get fired.
