Yes those ECW house shows that mean so much they draw less than half the people that the Raw/Smackdown ones do. The ones that mean so much that they are being ended after November. The WWE doesn't give a flying fuck about the 1000 people that attend the ECW house shows that's apparent right now. They probably view the fact that the ECW show has blah ratings and crappy house show attendance compared to the other 2 shows as a sign that RVD isn't a draw. The thing is though, RVD is a proven draw or at least fan favorite amongst the Raw/Smackdown fans as well, as he was getting pops before the return of ECW. RVD is the guy on his own level amongst the new ECW, because he has had success in the original ECW as well as on WWE programming. Right now, when you watch ECW, whether it is in front of an ECW crowd or Smackdown crowd, it is very obvious that RVD is the ascending star of the show. Anyone who can't see that is stupid, and to put the belt on anyone else RIGHT NOW is fucking absurd. Goes like this though.....when you aren't a WWE pet project which RVD isn't. When they actually do put a belt actually 2 at the time on you.........it's not best to royally fuck it up. Because now everyone who doesn't like him or want him pushed in that office can go "see like we said he's a fuckup".

How many of the old ECW fans are going to go apeshit here at the end of November? Because you know alot of those guys like say.......the FBI, C.W Anderson, Danny Doring and the like just have jobs to fill out the house shows. When they put those matches on the Smackdown/Raw ones they won't need those guys anymore......so they'll likely be let go.

source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter Bob Collins, a long-time promoter with WWE who worked on WrestleMania III, has been regularly covering the Detroit area in the build to WrestleMania 23. He has been telling Ford Field officials that the only match WWE has decided upon for the show is Hulk Hogan vs. The Big Show. However, that match is not 100% certain for the time being. Though, if it does end up taking place, it could very well be the final wrestling match for not one star, but both stars. Big Show's contract expires in February and he is in a great deal of physical pain nowadays. Big Show legitimately weighs 520 pounds, finds traveling very difficult, and has already been taken off of most minor ECW house shows. Due to these problems, plans are being made to get the ECW title off of him soon. The problem with this is that Rob Van Dam is the only ECW wrestler in a good position to win it, yet Vince McMahon has been said to be determined to not to let him be the champion again following his arrest the last time around. McMahon also feels RVD cannot draw as a champion, although other WWE officials believe the crowds will be the same no matter who has the belt. Big Show has been telling people that he is considering leaving wrestling next year and going into acting, since his size and comedic personality makes him rather unique and should get him plenty work. His original contract, signed in 1999, was $950,000 a year for ten years. It was renegotiated in 2000 when management felt he wasn't working hard enough and sent him to Ohio Valley Wrestling, with Jim Ross cutting it down to $1,000,000 a year for eight years. Eventually, Vince got irritated about paying that much for anybody in developmental and they just took him as he was in early 2001. John Laurinaitis started talking to him about a new deal recently, which involved a major pay cut. After Kurt Angle left the company, WWE had more money available for wages and he was offered a five-year extension at the same wage, which he turned down. The company was shocked by his rejection, yet Big Show doesn't believe that he can continue due to the severe pain he is experiencing. His back is shot and he fears that he may start rapidly physically deteriorating like Andre the Giant did at around the same stage of his life. Because they cut back his dates, he has agreed to work through February unless things get extraordinarily bad. He will then take a hiatus and hopefully recover enough to return for WrestleMania. Big Show is in a secure financial position, but he may never be able to handle a full-time schedule again. He has not confirmed anything about WrestleMania yet, but the feeling is that he will work the show due to Hogan's involvement unless he is physically incapable. It's in there.......

I think it's more that he was dumb enough to do it while he was driving......so he got arrested. Not exactly a model for being reliable.

Now I generally don't agree with alot of stuff the WWE does but.....can you really blame Vince for not wanting to put the belt on RVD? RVD royally fucked up and pretty much blew all trust anyone in management would have had in him. RVD isn't one of their pets he basically had one chance and he fucked up worse than anyone could have imagined.

From WWE.com: World Wrestling Entertainment has come to terms on the release of producers Tim Horner and Ted DiBiase as of today 10/26/06. We wish Tim and Ted all the best in their future endeavors.

They're getting divorced.....keep in mind she also just had cancer. That Batista a real stand up guy.... I'm sure many wrestlers, like other spots stars, mess around on their wives/girlfriends/husbands/boyfriends. What makes it funny is Batista lost a ton of respect from the other wrestlers for dating Rebecca and the whole situation with his wife. You know what you are doing is fucked up when even the other wrestlers who have likely done fucked up shit look at you and go "what the fuck is wrong with that guy?" It would be more fucked up if Lita and Edge were two of those people to hate on him. "Dude, CANCER Dude" "Yeah, canther..." She only talks like that because she's had so much dick in her mouth it just made her voice like she always has one in there.

To the point it's been reported he's miserable and wants to be moved to Raw.

As much of a fan as I am of Punk, I have not really enojyed his matches in ECW, save for the second Justin match. With a wrestler like him, you need time to develop a match. 3-5 minutes will not due. He is similar to RVD in that aspect. While true.....getting more than 10 minutes is going to be hard in an hour show. Hell it's hard to get more than that in the WWE 2 hour shows.
-
Rebecca DiPietro, former Diva Search contestant. Thanks. Also Batista's girlfriend.....

So the idea was to take the last two guys that RVD had good matches against go against each other. We know that neither is a good wrestler, but they had good matches against RVD so it couldn't be RVD that carried them, right? HHH is coming to kick your ass for suggesting RVD can carry someone.
-
It's not easy to look great when you're working 5 minute matches, especially when you're the type of wrestler punk is. A quick squash might do fine for a guy like Umaga but that isn't exactly Punks thing and it doesn't go with how he looks, let's wait till he gets a few longer matches before we decide he sucks.

So when Big Show goes to climb the ladder will the rungs bend?
-
I'm guessing a good majority of the WWE fan has no clue who Monty is. Maybe if TNA was a bigger entity like WCW was that would happen but I don't think that right now till I see it. CM Punk and Jeff Hardy both worked in TNA, albeit Punk burried TNA after he left but neither of them have gotten jobbed out by WWE.
-
That acting like he doesn't have athletic talent is short sighted. Monty Brown is everything the WWE likes in a wrestler. He has a look, he's in great shape, he has a legit athletic background and a natural charisma that they can harness into promos. In the WWE they can work with him and show he can cut a promo and protect him in matches where he'd come off 1000 times better than he never did in TNA where they don't seem to know how to hide anyones weaknesses. No, you're right. In WWE, they go out of their way to expose those weaknesses instead. They've done pretty well at hiding Cena....guys who get exposed are generally guys they don't feel do what they need them to do, like Shelton Benjamin. Not that I defend that line of logic but if you show star quality the WWE will protect you and Monty Brown can do that.
-
So is it a foregone conclusion that ECW is going to get 2 hours at some point?

Yea man, Monty Brown only played in the NFL for several years I'm sure he's just a run of the mill athlete.......alot of guys in pro wrestling could make it in the NFL.......
-
They can't put him on Smackdown if they sign him........fans will think he's the smaller shittier Lashley. I'm guessing alot of WWE fans don't know who Monty Brown is so if he's around Lashley they'll shit on him as a Lashley ripoff.
-
Monty Brown makes sense for the WWE, he's big has a look and some natural charisma. I just hope if he signs with them he realizes he's going to be working 200+ dates not 2 times a month and his personal trainer career he loves so much will be over.

Some more news........ PWInsider.com has reported that WWE have signed the son of Afa the Wild Samoan, Afa, Jr. It is not known if it's a developmental contract or a full deal but he skipped an indy date over the weekend telling people he was skipping the date because he was signing with WWE. They also signed Eddie Colon, according to Victor Jovica. Word has it that Claudio Castagnoli recently had a tryout at DSW. CHIKARA have promptly announced an 8-man tag team tournament, with the winners ranking up the 3 wins to get a title shot. This could be coincidence, but it could also be a way of hot shotting the belts off of the KOW. Granted, nothing's definate. They may be doing this as it's a cool thing to do, or just to add speculation that KOW are going to drop the belts.

nah..what happens is DX beats Orton/Edge even though Bischoff is the ref.. Bischoff gets pissed and needs to drag "The nWo" in it..although he doesn't tell anyone who "the nWo" is..its a secret tba at SS.. and it ends up being..who knows.. If they really job Edge and Orton at CS that will be some really really bad booking. Of course I guess we'd know right way of HHH has a desire to get Edge away from the mainevent scene.
