I honestly think they thought the fans would boo Sid for what he did to Hogan. The thing being though was that Sid was the next big thing, and Hogan was turning into yesterday's news at that point. People wanted to see Sid on top and cheer for him... not become cannon fodder for Hogan. I don't get why they didn't have Sid get dumped and then he be the one who pulled Hogan out to give Flair the win. They had to have the Sid/Hogan match set already for them to even do that ending and there was no way Hogan was going heel, so wouldn't it have made sense to have Sid screw him, then apologize and then snap on SNME.

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

I definitely remember that drawing too. Amazing! -
Do deaths count? Because Brian Pillman would have been a mega star in the Russoriffic Attitude era. He could have played so many roles too. He could have been anti-authority like Austin or he could have become a corporate sell out like Mick Foley. He was destined for an IC title run (which I think he would have gotten over Rocky) and definitely a feud with Austin as 98 rolled along. Dr. Death may have gotten over as well in 98 as Vince's muscle if he didn't tear his body up in the BFA.

Jimmy Hart trying to protect Brutus Beefcake's face from Money Inc and their briefcase on Raw in February 93.

I think Batista/Cena rematch is all but penciled in. Batista got the clean win, wins the title from Punk and then Cena gets his win back at Wrestlemania. As for SD, I think Taker/Hunter is probably going to happen. I really wish they would have Michaels stay out until at least the Rumble and then come back to set up the blowoff with Jericho at Wrestlemania in a First Blood or Street Fight.

Well, now they mentioned it on Raw, so a lot more people heard it. Plus, he was thrown 300 feet and only reinjured his collarbone? Doesn't add up to me.

Anyone think it may be a work? It was news broken on WWE.com. Maybe they are putting it out there to offset the leak that Orton would be at Summerslam.

Uncle Cletus was Tony Anthony. He managed the Godwins for about a week at the end of 1997. I believe his first appearance was the week before they won the titles. He had that horseshoe that he used to help them win the belts at Bad Blood. And then he was gone as quickly as he came. I think he lasted until they dropped belts to LOD on Raw and then they turned on him and beat him up and that was that.

I have been waiting since the post head shaving for Vince to go loony and just show up on Raw in either his old blue sportscoat or Raw is War denim jacket and act like the last 10 years have never happened. They just open the show and there he is welcoming us to Raw and being his old self on commentary, confusing the hell out of everyone.

I remember one I had a few days before Wrestlemania VIII. It was a dream that I was watching Superstars and the announced an Ultimate Warrior/Smash match for the PPV for some odd reason. Well, I was a bit freaked out when Warrior came back out of nowhere at the show right after I had dreamed he would be there.

I have some funny videos w/ John from our college TV classes. I always wanted him to make it big...a) because he is a great guy and b) so I could pimp the videos out to the world
-
He wrestles on the east coast and was the ROH Pure Champion for a while. He has done a few WWE shots as well.

Not sure if you guys would be interested, but I know John Walters pretty well and I am sure he would be up for something like this too. Gangrel one was a fun read.

1. Would you have booked the tournament (with it's current seeding) any differently? How so or why not? Well, if I had my choice, I would have had Doink in Hughes' spot from the start as he and Perfect had a couple of great qualifying matches that were PPV worthy. That said, I would have had Luger end Tatanka's winning streak in round 1 but Perfect end Luger's winning streak in round 2. Bret beat Bigelow in round 2 and is banged up going on to face Mr. Perfect in the finals. Bret beats Perfect in the Finals and they have the rematch at Summerslam to determine the number 1 contender to the World title. 2. Which tournament match is the best? Bret vs. Perfect, no doubt. Honorable mention to Bret/Bigelow 3. Which non-tournament match is the best? Not much to choose from, but Hogan/Yoko just for the historical importance. 4. Gene Okerlund being a shit disturber - is that awesome or what? Beyond awesome. That is one of my favorite backstage interviews of all time. Of course, Terry Taylor upped the ante later on when he interviewed that wonderful white trash family in the arena. "Hulk Hogan all da way!"

They did it at One Night Stand, so perhpas they are going to start doing it more as the women's division depth has increased a bit?

It was more like 7 years for Bret, unless you subscribe to the Hogan style of math

I think Jeff is headed to Smackdown to eventually feud with Edge, which is why he lost clean here tonight.

Killer Khan vs. Andre on JD 03. I mean, I know why they did it but it seemed a bit random at the time.

LaTroy Hawkins needs to go away...ASAP.

Touche. I just hate seeing nice leads pissed away less than 20 minutes later. I like Ross. And Derek Jeter getting picked off 2nd with two on and two out and A-Rod at the plate. That is annoying too.

If I see Ross Ohlendorf walking down the street I am about ready to run him down. Score 4, give it all right back...dammit.

Outside of the CW flub, I think he has been pretty decent all night, which is a step up. If they give him time to grow and learn, he will definitely improve. ECW is a good spot for him as it is often live, but is the third level show so he can work himself out on live TV without much consequence.
-
I don't think he dropped the ball, really. I think they were trying to make it that he was thinking of Jan and his "child" based on his phone call a bit later. That or he was still trying the take it slow approach that Jim kept pushing on him and it backfired.
-
Do you think that the lower to mid card wrestlers in the WWF that were stalwarts and fairly over (yourself, D-Lo, Steve Blackman, Crash, Headbangers etc.) in late 98 and 1999 were shoved aside with the huge influx of talent from WCW and ECW by 2000? Was it an issue backstage or cause any tension, because from an outsider's perspective it seemed that the new talent was immeditaley pushed to the forfront.

Duggan did commentary for the opener of WM 7. He was also a panelist on PTW in late 91/92 on occasion as well.
