Just watching the Fable2 announcement now, looks really good to be honest. I like the Co-Op idea, seems to work well!
-
Well, its what Newcastle do best to be fair. Buy people on their name and then wonder why they're shite - however, we also give people a chance, which again is probably our undoing (Joey Barton). Aimar want to Benfica in the end, turned down both us and Everton to go.
-
Looks like the papers are finally catching up with the inside scoop http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/16072008/1/t...aimar-deal.html

Would you have wanted him at Derby last season if you had the chance, Franchise?
-
Still a good pick for a quick pick to be fair!

I'll try and keep this thread on track and not break into Football/Championship Manager haha Talking of young ability harnessed into great players - it saddens me when I realize Newcastle United are not a team to do this. They're shit at it. We've let Beardsley and Shearer both just waltz out of the club for one reason or another, then had to pay for them to return. We've never developed a good young player in the 18 years I've followed them. The closest we've got is Steve Harper and Steven Taylor, then if I REALLLLLY want to stretch it. Steve Howey Steve Watson Hang on... anyone called fucking Steve! Lee Clark Robbie Elliott (who's returned to the Toon as a coach now)

All-Time Wrestling Roster Draft
Obi Chris Kenobi replied to PILLS! PILLS! PILLS!'s topic in Draft Faggotry
bps21 has my vote for best roster so far ... only cos he has Owen Hart mind you. -
hahaha what a tit! Its odd like as you'll see the youth players running through the village to get the training ground and you're like RUN FOOL RUN! When I worked at game I freaked this one kid out and made his day at the same time. He was buying a game and had a game card, and I was like hmm Daniel Leadbitter, where do I know that name... you play for Newcastle youth team don't you? He couldn't believe I knew - but truth was I had released him the morning before on Football Manager, I didn't tell him that part.
-
If I could really be bothered, I go stick my head out of the window and see if I could see him at the training ground haha I live right next to it (well 5minutes). It moved to the Old Blue Flames center in Benton and I live in Forest Hall which is just down the road. You see them arrive every morning in their flash cars and 4x4 - gits.

Aye, that's Spiderman. Aimer is in Toon for a medical now apparently...

Comments that don't warrant a thread

Got that game today for £15, seems ok! -
Holy shit apparently Newcastle United have signed: Pablo Aimar! I'll try not to get my hopes up too much, considering it happens every season. We sign some amazing player from South America and he turns out shite for us. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ted/7485663.stm

According to wiki (source of all internet rumors) he can't talk at all anymore and is having reconstructive surgery on his jaw Hope they don't go over the top LoW style presentation, Beefcake Bret Hart didn't do much for me.

Little, Big Planet is the only other game I'm aware of at the moment that I'd get on my PS3, love the idea behind it.
-
Well, I'm going to hammer home my WR to be a possession guy, going to put a few weeks of heavy training into catching and maybe strength. I did notice in the last few games I seemed to have double coverage on me at most times. Is there anyway to combat this?

Surprised Andrew hasn't been posting around here lately, guess he's on another forum

OK, so Microsoft did some good work yesterday with a little coup on gaining Final Fantasy for the 360. Though most Sony fans have went over the top with their reaction. PS3 are STILL getting FF, and its still exclusive to Sony in Japan - so if they were worried they shouldn't be. Ultimately, it won't affect much other then stop 360 owners in US/EU buying a PS3 for FF. Sony will still gain alot more sales in Japan from FF so its not 'Doom and Gloom', if anything it just smells of selfish Sony 'Fanbois' upset that someone got the same toy as them for Christmas. Last night was also EA's conference, haven't heard much from that yet, will dig around and see what I can find to share in the thread. Here's some info on EA's E3 stuff: http://kotaku.com/5023931/eas-e3-line-up-+...-bigger-website Mirror's Edge Madden LITTLEST PET SHOP and others... Today is Nintendo and Sony. We've had some Nintendo wish lists, noticed ALOT of Wii Ware requests, is that what the console has became a port to the past to old favorites? I'm really not sure what Nintendo has to offer me personally in regards to a game that will go 'Yeah, I want a Wii now and will play it more then 15 minutes alone.' As for Sony? Kingdom Hearts 3? New Tekken Game? Gran Turismo Announcement? HOME COMING SOON! (Delayed again) Any other ideas? There'll probably be some God of War 3 as well.

Up until the last five minutes I really enjoyed it, even the faster 'Priceless' music haha. Spotted more signs that normally would be removed, most notably this week... "CENA IS A TOOL" clear as day in the middle of the screen, especially during the Santino match. CHAOS WITHOUT McMAHON!

Starring at Leftback... Bixente Lizarazu Ok so he's never played in Black & White... Ok, so a SLIGHT break from tradition with him never have played in the Black & White stripes (of ANY team before). Hell, he's even played in the crappy Red & White stripes... however, it was him or John Beresford, and while I have a warm place in my heart for Bez he's not really up to the caliber we're after now is he? Well, he might do well against the Girly all American Team So, a bit about my starting XI. The defense is solid, something Newcastle United have lacked since... well forever. If we're to assume all of the picks are when the players in their prime (some of them still are) then its one of the toughest, skilled defenses out there. Zambrotta and Lizarazu at full back will bomb it up and down the flanks provided support for the wingers, they both possess a fair bit of pace and can actually defend too. The Center Backs Puyol and Cannavaro both natural leaders, and probably the two best CBs in Modern Football today (along with John Terry). The Midfield is a bit of an indulgence, with 3, almost 4 flair players. Ginola is known to be lazy getting back in defense, but he more then makes up for that with some of the best dribbling down the wings, and is able to mix it up with crosses or through balls... oh and he can score a few goals too... I really think Ginola is VERY under rated, and if he hadn't had a falling out with the France Manager at the time (same with Cantona) he would be one of the most cherrished French players in modern times. Newcastle haven't really had a left winger like him, I'm sure Tottenham and Villa fans will say the same thing. On the right is Garrincha, who if he was playing in modern times would probably be in the same kinship as Man U (Real's?) Ronaldo. Another player who can dribble, dribble, dribble and dribble. Can score the odd goal, though there are question marks over his over all team play. In the middle is Dunga, who would probably be the captain (though the team itself has no less the five club captains in the line up already). He can spray the ball around the park and is probably the only true 'defensive' minded player I have in midfield. That finishes my starting line up, and now a guy to manage them all... Sir Alex Ferguson Do what he says or he'll volley a boot into your face, pretty boy One of the most succesful club managers of all time, great with tactics, and getting the best out of his players. Personally, I'm not a huge fan, I think he's a tit, but I can't deny what he's done.
