Actually I'm pretty confident that Punk will retain, which is why I'm worried. Cena and Batista are faces, Jericho is busy with HBK, meaning JBL is the only top heel. What is Cena and Batista going to do unless JBL has the title? For Punk loving competition, winning the title like he did doesn't jive with that character.

Only way I see Punk holding the title for more than a month is if he becomes the leader of Dibiase and Rhodes. It doesn't have to be a second generation stable, and Punk was mentioned as a possibility of being part of it. Otherwise he's not going to be accepted in the league of Cena and Batista, or HBK, Jericho for that matter. JBL will probably be Punk's first challenger if they want to give him some run, if it's Cena or Batista he'll drop it quickly.

How quick before he loses it? Too bad this show wasn't in ROH country.

Actually I believe the plan is for Undertaker to crash the ceremony. However Undertaker could demolish Edge and then Punk could come out and take his title - sorta like how Edge stole it from the Undertaker last year. There is also the rumor that there will be a Edge/Alicia (the wedding planner) sex tape unearthed - so it could be a helluva night for Edge - his wedding is crashed by The Undertaker, Somebody (probably HHH) shows Vickie Edge cheating on her (so Edge loses all power) and then Punk takes the title from him. CM Punk isn't in the dog house that many still seem to believe. Even if the writers and roadies hated his guts (which they don't) he moves merchandise which means Vince will make sure he's pushed.

Punk craves competition. He'll challenge for a title when the champ is perfectly healthy and ready for the match - and promptly lose.

CM Punk should cash in the MITB now, off air, and win the championship. The Raw tomorrow will be "tune in to see what happened when the PPV left the air and how CM Punk is now the Champion."
