Paid in Full is a great, great album. That's such a typical thing for a hipster who's marginally interested in hip hop to say, but it has to be said.

Then again, a good sixty percent of the shirts I own are from Abercrombie and Fitch, so what do I know?

Top Concerts

5. Weezer, July 12th, 2005, Colisee, Lewiston, Maine. Just 75 minutes of hit after hit. I wish they had played longer but their set had no filler really so I couldn't complain. Plus as a "bonus", I got to see The Fray (who opened) before they were "stars"

4. Ben Folds, April 3rd, 2006, Maine Center For The Arts, Orono, Maine. Folds just blew me away. I saw him once before 11 months before at the University of New Hampshire and he was pretty good but I thought it was a pretty uninspired performance compared to the live stuff I've seen and heard of him before. But he just blew me away, with the energy he poured on stage, on a Monday night in a 1500 seat theater in a small college town in Maine.

3. Bob Dylan, August 27th, 2006, Merchantsauto.com Stadium, Manchester, New Hampshire. I heard very mixed reviews of Dylan, some saying he outright sucked and others saying he was as good as ever, luckily he fell into the latter category for me. The way he rearranged his great songs was incredible. I'm really looking forward to seeing him again in November.

2. U2, October 3rd, 2006, TD BankNorth Garden, Boston, Massachustts. It's U2, 'nuff said.

1. Prince, August 18th, 2004, TD BankNorth Garden, Boston, Massachusetts. Prince, 'nuff said.

Honorable mentions: Queen and Paul Rogers. Alice Cooper. G. Love and Special Sauce/Blackalicious

I only have three, so

Tonight's The Night

After the Gold Rush

Harvest

'after the gold rush' is my least favorite. though i attribute that to only owning it on vinyl and almost never breaking it out for a listen. there's also something about putting those CSNY-type harmonies into almost every song that just bothers me.

I'm a complicated man. No, seriously, I'm from Texas and country radio makes great driving music. I love old country...Patsy Cline, Farron Young, Willie, Waylon, the boys, all of that ilk. I really like most singer/songwriter types from the 80s-90s...Randy Travis, Alan Jackson, Garth, Vince Gill, et cetera. I like the new wave of outlaw country artists-Hank 3, Shooter Jennings, et al. I only like a few of the new country artists. I like Dierks Bentley.

My third list of the day-Involving another random artist I had the desire to listen to today:

My five favorite Alice in Chains songs:

1. "Don't Follow"

2. "No Excuses"

3. "Over Now"

4. "I Stay Away"

5. "Rain When I Die"

I guess that makes it semi-obvious what my favorite AiC CD is...
