Guest Kingpk Report post Posted August 22, 2002 I'm guessing Jamal Anderson to the Patriots (what Im hearing) means unless the Colts are stupid, Ricky Waters will be in a Colts Uniform. Really, JA to the Pats? Well I guess they're finally going to get rid of the waste of uniform named Kevin Faulk then.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted August 22, 2002 I think he likes the Pats over the Colts because of playing on grass vs turf, but IMO the Colts need a backup worse than the Pats do.
Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted August 22, 2002 Just to let everyone know, I'm going to be moving back to college this weekend...so if anybody's trying to contact me for trades or whatnot, that's why I'm not replying. No idea how long it'll take me to get settled in, though.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 23, 2002 Yahoo sucks...where the hell are the guys like Anderson, Watters and Antonio Freeman.
Guest cartman Report post Posted August 23, 2002 They are all unsigned free agents...so for some dumbass reason they omitted them for now. If/when they sign they will be made availible and I wont have a shot in hell of getting any of them...just because.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 23, 2002 If they go on the waiver wire when they put them in the system then i won't have a chance of getting any of them either. I'm #6 on the waiver order list so i have no shot at good waiver wire pickups.
Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted August 26, 2002 Antonio Freeman got signed by the Eagles yesterday, but he's not on there yet.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted August 29, 2002 It looks like I have lucked out RB wise. Aug. 28: The New York Jets have been trying to find a way to get LaMont Jordan on the field more this season. According to the Bergen Record, he could become their goal-line specialist. "We're looking at some of that, and we're also looking at LaMont in there in the red zone," head coach Herman Edwards said. "He's a little different runner than Curtis, and that takes some of the whacks off Curtis, too." Views: This is not good news for Martin, who is coming off of a 10-touchdown season. That total will most certainly fall if Jordan gets the ball at the stripe. If Jordan becomes the red zone back for the Jets, he probably ends up having more value than Curtis Martin, thus making Jordan my steal of the draft if it happens. I'll believe it when I see it, but if it happens, Im happy..!!
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 29, 2002 one week away from the season, time to make the final cuts. Gus Furote is my steal of the Free Agents, if only if the Bengals had some decent WRs I am hoping the rookies and 2nd year guys will produce this season
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted August 29, 2002 Razazteca: Gus Furote is my steal of the Free Agents, if only if the Bengals had some decent WRs Well the Bengals do have some decent WRs they just need consistent QB play. With consistent qb play the Bengals would surprise alot of people. Frerotte or Kitna don't have to play great either they just need to be consistent and not make alot of mistakes. Marvinisalunatic: If Jordan becomes the red zone back for the Jets, he probably ends up having more value than Curtis Martin Now i wouldn't call him more valuable then Martin. Martin will still get good numbers and be a reliable back, but yes Jordan would also have alot of value.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted August 29, 2002 Hmm. 1 Rush TD= 6pts 20 Rush Yards= 1 pt Martin would have to get 120 yards rushing to equal Lamont Jordan scoring a 1 yard TD run. Whoo! Of course, Martin could bust a few long TD runs.. Im happy for Jordan, he was underated coming out of Maryland when the Jets drafted him last year.

Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 30, 2002 everybody is reviewing the Pre Season games for some sleepers!?!
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted August 30, 2002 With 20 teams, I don't think there are many sleepers left. EDIT: I really hope no one has backed out of this.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted August 30, 2002 Hmm. On the subject of backing out, the other two leagues Im in are dead as well. Im hoping things pick up, but I dunno.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 30, 2002 well the public league I'm in is alive as I was able to trade Antowain Smith for Shockey. the 1st week game against nutcracker could be a tough one for me as he is a WR mark with talent from top to bottom but he only has one RB. Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted August 30, 2002 Im bored so Im gonna do a quick review of my Week 1 Matchup. Maybe everyone should do this weekly. Lunatics R Us 0-0-0 vs The A Team 0-0-0 QB Jeff Garcia vs Michael Vick Advantage - Lunatics R Us; Garcia isn't just a better QB, but he has much better targets to throw to. Vick might get points for rushing, but he isn't going to get many passing. WR Tim Brown and Rod Gardner vs Randy Moss and Joe Horn Advantage - The A Team; Moss and Horn are two of the premier WR in the NFL, and though they are both up against tough defenses (Chicago and Tampa respectively) they will easily outperform Brown and Gardner just about any day of the week. RB Jamal Lewis and Lamont Jordan vs Michael Bennett and Charlie Garner Advantage - TIE; There are questions surrounding Jamal Lewis coming back from his torn ACL, and there are questions as to how Bennett will perform in Minnesota. Jordan has the opportunity to score TDs with the Jets, Garner will probably end up racking up a good deal of yardage but no TDs. TE Todd Heap vs Dwayne Carswell Advantage - Lunatics R Us; Todd Heap is probably the Ravens #1 reciever going into week one, depending on how bad Travis Taylor is hurt. Carswell will probably see limited action with Shannon Sharpe starting in Denver. WR/RB Tim Dwight, Santanna Moss and Chad Johnson vs Amani Toomer, Curtis Conway and Ricky Proehl Advantage - The A Team ; Really hard to call, but I'll give the nod to the A Team. K Olindo Mare vs Jason Elam Advantage - TIE; A tough one also, since Mare is kicking against Detroit whereas Elam is kicking against St. Louis. Both should get several PAT attempts, and I doubt either will have more than 1 or 2 FG attempts. DEF Pittsburgh (@New England) vs Seattle (@Oakland) Advantage - Lunatics R Us; Seattle is going to have a hard time on the road vs Oakland, Pittsburgh and New England should be a tight defensive game. Uh..I could I suppose, I was just more interested in seeing how I stacked up against the A Team (I had never really looked in depth yet..) Probably going to be close.. Guest converge241 Report post Posted August 30, 2002 great!! now i can call my bookie and place a sawbuck on all the winners in your lock of the day lol j/k i think the TT will be in full effect by next thursday at the latest
Guest razazteca Report post Posted August 30, 2002 QB Rich Gannon @Sea is going to put up big numbers WR Derrick Mason @Phi & Jerome Pathon@TB is going to be tough as the opponets are defense minded teams, but as both guys are Kick/Punt returners the extra yards will give 1 or 2 fantasy points RB Antowain Smith@Pit again tough defense with an out of shape player, production is questionable, but with Jamal nearly signing with the Pats, Smith might overacheive just to prove everybody wrong. Ron Dayne@SF should score at least one TD since 49ers are weak againt the run and Dayne is the Red Zone FullBack TE David Sloan@TB as the Bucs try to double team the WRs, Sloan can sneak a few recptions WR/RB Frank Sanders@Was, Shawn Jefferson@GB, Darnerian McCants@Ari these Wrs could be my sleepers as McCants was the fav WR for the new starting QB of the Redskins in the last preseason game. Guest cartman Report post Posted August 31, 2002 I'm bored i'll do my matchup... Poortucket Patriots(Me) vs. Fear The ~! Daunte Culpepper vs. Trent Green Advantage: Push. I think Culpepper has much more weapons and is always a big threat to run as well as pass for TD's but he's going against Chitown's insanely good D, and Green has a chance but I think the Cheifs as a whole stink and that includes Holmes. James Threash/Antonio Freeman vs. Ed Mcaffrey/Mushin Muhammed Advantage: Poortucket Patriots Thrash and Freeman could have BIG games against Tenn. with McNabb becoming even more of a premier QB than ever before. I think McNabb will be the big breakout QB of this season BY FAR. Mcaffrey is always solid and will probably be thw go to guy in denver as long as he stays healthy and Mushin the same, except he has nobody throwing to him. Garrison Hearst/Travis Henry vs. Marshall Faulk/Eddie George Advantage: Fear The ~! Faulk is unconsious as we all know and should put up big numbers in ever way and George has to do something for Tenn to even have a chance so this is a big advantage for Fear The ~! On my behalf my RB core sucks bigtime but I can always hope Hearst comes up big because of the spread out D that garcia and his recievers cause and same with henry in Buffalo with Drew running the show. D'wayne Bates/Donald Driver/Donald Hayes vs. Travis Taylor/Jermaine Lewis/Deshaun Foster Advantage: Poortucker Pariots Bates is going to be HUGE for me I believe starting opposite Moss, Driver has Brett Farve throwing to him...nuff said. Taylor left the last game with a non-serious injury but should be OK to play but with the QB he's got throwing to him....doesn't look too good. Jermaine Lewis will be HUGE for Houston returning kicks and punts i'm sure on top of being a top reciever..but again no real QB throwing to him. Foster isnt gonna play til the end of September after orthoscopic surgery. Jay Rimersma vs. Tony Gonzalez Advantage: Fear The ~! If Tony is ready to play after just ending his holdout he will be some help for Green and is always a threat...but Rimersma is gonna be a sleeper with Drew loving tight ends. (I just ready that over again....ouch.) Todd Peterson vs. Brett Conway Advantage: Poortucket Patriots Peterson is gonna be working against the Pats i'm sure and Conway might not play this week. Baltimore D vs. Miami D Advantage: Push Both great Defenses and both playing crap offenses...should be interesting to say the least.

Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted September 1, 2002 I must disembowel Herman Edwards immediately. I feel like the black running back in Varsity Blues. Curtis better produce big. I picked him in the second round instead of a QB (I was going to pick Aaron Brooks, but decided to go with Martin. It worked out, though, because I got McNair in the third round). Guest The Man in Blak Report post Posted September 1, 2002 Well, if anything, Curtis Martin will be consistent. He's not a great scorer (hasn't had more than ten TDs in a year for the last five years), but he'll bull up a nice chunk of yards every game. The main issue with him is whether the wheels are going to fall off from the last four years of 300+ carries.
