Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted September 8, 2002 I had a good shopping experience at Target today. I found a Norelco electric razor on the clearance rack for 35 bucks, original price was 129 bucks, and its not like its a discontinued model or anything. Im betting they mispriced it, when they put it on markdown. I also got 2 cds (Trust Co. and 12 Stones) for 7 bucks each, which isn't that bad of a price. My 3000th post?? Hmm.. Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted September 8, 2002 Those are good deals...was the store going out of business or what?
Guest MrRant Report post Posted September 8, 2002 I remember when a Good Guy store went out of business. I picked up a pair of $250 speakers for $85 .
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted September 8, 2002 Discounted CD prices are becoming an increasingly common practice among record companies, and I applaud it. It's been shown to boost CD sales, and it helps get people turned on to new artists. For what it's worth, I very rarely buy CDs outside of Best Buy. They have a huge selection, and it's generally no more than $15, which is a reasonable price. Twenty dollars is fucking bullshit.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted September 8, 2002 No, but they had a ton of stuff on clearance. I dont normally go to Target, but I recently found that I had a $50 gift certificate to Target that I hadn't used that I got for Christmas. The CDs were both on sale, and normally on sale CDs arent 6.99, but I wasn't gonna complain.
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted September 8, 2002 You don't normally go to Target? I love that place, man. Wal Mart can lick my balls.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted September 8, 2002 Eh. We have 2 Wal Mart SuperCenters here, and for the most part, the stuff I normally buy is cheaper 98% of the time at Wal Mart. I was surprised that Target had a bunch of decent CDs on sale for under 10 bucks, which is one of the things I never buy at Wal Mart (I usually by them at a local store in the Mall if I buy CDs)..I usually find Target to be a bit overpriced, but If I can get deals like I got today, I might go there more often. Guest Incandenza Report post Posted September 8, 2002 CDs at the mall? Ick. You don't have a Best Buy in your town?
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 8, 2002 We have one, it's just a 30 minute drive from here to the north area. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted September 8, 2002 I pimp Best Buy a lot. I should be getting paid.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted September 8, 2002 Nope. We have a Circuit City though which isn't bad every once in a while on CDs but they never have what they advertise.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted September 8, 2002 Circuit City--or at least the one here--can't touch Best Buy as far as their CD selection is concerned. Unfortunately, we don't have a Best Buy in this area. There's on in Arlington, which is about three hours away. I managed to find a bunch of stuff there, though; actually significantly more than I found at a Virgin Megastore the previous day. There's a music store in Abilene that's taken to pandering to me because I buy so much music, though, so it's all good.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted September 8, 2002 There's one music store where I'm from (plus the music departments of Wal-Mart and Zellers). If you want any store that has a large, varied selection, you need to drive an hour (either to Ottawa or Kingston).
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted September 8, 2002 We had two decent used CD stores here for about six months. I found some good stuff at one--Wilco, Jeff Buckley, Elliot Smith, Liz Phair, REM, and both Elvis Costello's Armed Forces and the Psychedelic Furs' s/t debut album ON VINYL--and a few decent things at the other, most notably Pet Sounds. Due to the corporate tyranny of CD Warehouse and the unwillingness of Abilenians to support any independent businesses, they've both closed. I'm now forced to tolerate fucking emo at CD Warehouse whenever I want to buy used CDs. It's awful.

Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 8, 2002 As a Tennessee Vols fan, I am required to detest every cell in Spurrier's body as well as whatever team he coaches. As such, I hate the Redskins now. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Metal Ed 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2002 I ain't got nothing to say here.
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted September 8, 2002 I can't argue with Marvin's logic. Spurrier is indeed an offensive genius, as evidenced by how impotent Florida's offense looked against Miami today under the new coach. Not only that, but Spurrier is incredibly fun to watch. Make no mistake: I mark for the visor throw. I'd take issue with Kotz's Green Bay theme, but they're no longer in the Buc's division so it's pointless. Either way...I'm really glad it's football season.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 8, 2002 I'm just as glad that they're no longer in the same division. Both of their games last year took years off of my life. I do live close to the Panthers base of operations, can I help you hate them? Fo cheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest Kinetic Report post Posted September 8, 2002 It's hardly worth the energy. I'll be living in North Carolina in just a few short months, though, so seeing them on TV every week should accomplish that quite nicely. I despise the Cowboys, for instance.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 8, 2002 Yes, imagine how angry I am when they don't show a Packers game because the 1-14 Panthers are playing the 3-12 Lions or some crap like that at the same time. Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted September 8, 2002 Ha! The Panthers couldnt sell out their stadium so their game tomorrow is blocked out in North and South Carolina. I lived in South Carolina for two years and can say that people in Charleston were more crazy for Clemson/ South Carolina Gamecock Football. Gamecocks..hehe..Marvin said cocks..Go Cocks go!..he he.. On that Note, Go Ravens too. At least they can beat Carolina...
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 8, 2002 Now I don't mind the Ravens. I also liked the Redskins until this year. You have no idea how happy I am to hear that the game will not be shown. Maybe I can see my boys play now!!! Fo sheez, Kotzenjunge
Guest MrRant Report post Posted September 8, 2002 Possible depending on how regional they go.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted September 8, 2002 Oftentimes around here, if they don't show the Panthers game, they'll show the Packers game. People call into the station and say what game they want, and there are a lot of Cheeseheads around here. In other news, your bigot thread has turned into Anglesault and I fighting over Canadianchick. Haven't gotten a good look at her yet with all the fighting, but I'm sure she's worth it.
