Guest HossSauce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Says you. Obviously, Vince McMahon must see some $$ in it because he doesn't book main events just for shits and giggles.
Guest BionicRedneck Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Oh Jesus... This is like talking to a complete mark. What next? "Brock is the best because he is the champion"
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Uh..I hate to tell you this..but.. Yes, he does.
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 And I Maintain WITHOUT TRYING TO INSULT OTHER PEOPLES OPINIONS ON WHO THEY FIND ENTERTAINING LIKE SOME PEOPLE HERE..... Taker only main eventing this time for Brock to defeat. Im not here claiming he is gonna win. Taker is gonna job for Brock...Selfish as that sounds.
Guest Brian Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Vince McMahon saw money in the Big Show. Sid. Test. Do I need to go on?
Guest HossSauce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Taker vs. Brock is gonna draw. Like it or not. It's the old unstoppable force meeting the immovable object match. You can't go wrong with it.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 But even after jobbing to Brock, UT will remain in the ME.
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 LOL Big Show with a 10 year contract... yea that was Genius up there with the XFL
Guest BionicRedneck Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Taker is in there to put Brock over. Hopefully, he will do a good job.
Guest HossSauce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Vince McMahon saw money in the Big Show. Sid. Test. Do I need to go on? You almost had an argument going there until you dropped Sid's name. In case you didn't know -- which you obviously don't -- the big lug was one of the biggest drawing WWF champions EVER. He did huge gates.
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Taker is in there to put Brock over. Hopefully, he will do a good job. That was all I was saying before the Taker Suck Bandwagon went to town.
Guest Brian Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Sid drew? Do you have numbers to back that up.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 You almost had an argument going there until you dropped Sid's name. In case you didn't know -- which you obviously don't -- the big lug was one of the biggest drawing WWF champions EVER. He did huge gates. In other news..let's defy reality..
Guest BionicRedneck Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Taker Vs Sid=Worst drawing Mania main event EVER!!!! Yeah, HUGE!!
Guest HossSauce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 I wonder where the Taker Sucks Bandwagon was in 1990-1995, when Taker actually DID suck.
Guest Brian Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 No Bionic Redneck, Taker's a draw. That's immovable object versus unstoppable force right there. It had to have done a huge buyrate.
Guest HossSauce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Taker Vs Sid=Worst drawing Mania main event EVER!!!! Yeah, HUGE!! Once again...being a good draw is based on the live gate numbers that you do. NOT PPV BUYRATES. Can I make this any clearer? Drawing power = how many people your main event draws to an arena. They sold out the Rosemont Horizon. Standing room only.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Oh, really now? I guess the number of buyrates means crap..since..y'know..millions will buy..thousands will attend. I may not have been good at math, but I know.. 1 million > 30 K
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 I wonder where the Taker Sucks ™ Bandwagon was in 1990-1995, when Taker actually DID suck. you trying to annoy me? Since I watched him since 90 and liked him then. Character and all?
Guest HossSauce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 It does matter. It just has NOTHING to do with your status as a draw. Being a good draw and a good box-office attraction are two very different things. Sid was a great draw but a poor B.O.A. Steve Austin was great at both. Diesel was terrible at both. Do you get it?
Guest BionicRedneck Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 WOW They sold out the Rosemont Horizon? HOLY SHIT!!! A wrestlemania sold out a 18, 000 arena! well, you were right about Taker and Sid!
Guest HossSauce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Hey, you said that they didn't draw for WrestleMania 13. That was a lie, since they sold the arena out. Any questions?
Guest Brian Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 You forget that this is WrestleMania. House shows were down all of 1997-1996 as a whole. That's why they moved to smaller arenas.
Guest HossSauce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 There is no question that I am right about Sid. If you don't believe me, go check with Dave Meltzer. He has all the live gate numbers.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Yeah, and it's generally accepted as the lowest bought WM ever.. In fact, you could probably sell 18 thousand for a house show in some parts..
Guest Brian Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Why don't you call the Observer tonight?
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Lets all go wake up Meltzer.... Hey Melt Its Trivia.... Trivia Who? Nevermind Tell us the gate numbers on a PPV event that happen 5 years ago Please?
Guest BionicRedneck Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 I said it was the worst Drawing Mania in history, which is true. I believe Taker headlined the worst drawing KOTR in history too.
Guest HossSauce Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 Yeah, and it's generally accepted as the lowest bought WM ever.. Do you want to talk drawing power or ratings and buyrates? Please pick a topic because I am sick of trying to explain the difference to you.
Guest Trivia247 Posted September 2, 2002 Report Posted September 2, 2002 This was also at the Height of the WCW Popularity with the nWo phenomia at its Zenth. So that is also a factor.
