Bah...I professed Aly love long before either of you two, case closed.

 

Anyway, new eps sounds good, even though Dawn is going to be a SIT...2 eps from now looks decient..I am mostly alone in my season 4 love though.

I've only seen a few eps of season 4, and what I did see, I thought Riley was kind of a tool.

 

However, I didn't see enough to make a real obversation.

 

What's wrong with Spike's chip? When did they talk about that? If he has a soul, why does he need his chip to work? Doesn't make any sense. Angel was fine when he had his soul, and didn't have a chip. So, why does Spike need one? I'm lost.

 

Help me fellas. Youth or Edwin can probably can answer that the best, so please do fellas.

I think they only made the chip cause they wanted Spike in a non threatening villan roll from seasons 4+

 

The chip was fine in seasons 4 and 5...acted a little screwey in 6...but now in 7 it just seems to be about 50/50 if it's gonna work.

 

With him having his soul I don't know why they keep stressing the chip. Who knows, maybe they don't trust him full, and probably shouldn't...he left in season 6 to get the chip out, not to get his soul back, the Scoobies think otherwise though.

 

And Spike was only being good cause with the chip he HAD to...it's not like he could be bad and get away with it, there wasn't a lot he could get away with.

I just don't get why he needs a chip, when he has a soul.

 

I guess you're right, they don't trust him.

 

I'm sure Joss has his reasons for this.

Well, it's probably just easier leaving the chip in then taking it out. As long as it's not messing with Spike there's really no reason for it to come out, even with him being all full of soul and whatnot.

 

The only reason they would remove it is so he could hit humans now...which doesn't makes sense.

 

He's tried to have it removed a couple times already, with no luck.

I'm convinced that Spike went to get his soul back, not the chip removed. For instance, early in the season he said (in his quasi-crazy state) "He does what he must...for her".

 

All the dialogue he used making the audience think he was getting the chip removed so he could take out Buffy also works for him getting his soul back and becoming more of a man so he would deserve her. Classic Joss swerve.

Apparently, word out is that we won't get a definitive answer as to Giles' mortality until episode 7.13.

Where did you hear that? If that's true then we only have two episodes to go.

Got it off of aint-it-cool-news.com. Their TV guy, "Hercules", is a HUGE Buffy (and Whedon) fan, and somehow manages to review every episode a day or so before it airs. He's posted numerous rumors on the site before, and many of them have been accurate. Some haven't been, I must be honest, but if Herc says that we're going to get an answer on the 13th episode, I'm inclined to believe that we will, one way or another.

 

And frankly, at this point, I'm kind of scared that he is dead. Because why would we need to know that we're getting an answer if it wasn't that he's already dead? Look at the show now. The implication (to the average viewer, not to those of us who obsess over each detail) is that he's normal, and alive.

 

Maybe in the 13th episode, we find that he is in fact not.

 

I'm hoping the character isn't dead, seeing as I'm still pulling for an eventual BBC "Ripper" series.

BTW, anyone hear Emma Caulfield's interview on Howard Stern this week. It was pretty good. She was there to plug her new movie ("Darkness Falls"), and was pretty candid about herself.

 

She said two interesting things about the show.

She's not going to be back next year.

 

The show, in all likelihood she says, won't be back next year either ( ), but if it does come back for an 8th season, she will not be among the cast. So we may be in store for an Anya death later this year.

It says they have no luck getting a hold of him so I doubt he's coming back......in that episode atleast.

 

What I'm gathering is that Spike's chip starts acting up in the next couple of episodes.

I am storing that pic in the memory bank for later mast...err...

 

I only want a season 8 if SMG is on board...she's not even one of my top characters, but you can't have the show without her.

 

7 years is a kick ass run for a show of its kind...maybe it's time to cut it before they overstay their welcome. I will be sad when it's over though, since it pretty much is my favorite show of all time.

 

And I will just not watch DAWN: The Vampire Slayer if it comes to that.

I'm more curious to see how they handle Spike this year...soul and all, last season everyone at the board shit all over it...I think it could turn out pretty good though.

i agree the spike with a soul angle could be pretty good i still have the episode when tara got killed and willow set it off that's a classic

Why is it that Buffy has to get a job? Since she is the slayer, why can't the council pay her money for the job she is doing?

 

If she is a slayer, she will need to be awake mostly during the night when she is patroling, as all of you know. Since she is doing that, she will need to sleep during the day, and not have enough time for a job. So, why doesn't the council pay her money? It would make sense, atleast to me.

 

What do you fellas think?

I think if you start looking for loopholes you'll never stop.

 

Buffy with a job...hmmm, you'd think she'd get something on the side, I dunno...maybe she needs to look like she has normal employment.

 

I don't think she patrols every night...only when things get hairy

I was just noticing on my Season 3 DVD's that the season finale had a two month break between the airing of parts 1 and 2.

 

That doesn't always happen that way does it? I don't feel like waiting that long to see the last episode.

That's actually less than one month. But still nearly one month, which is a fairly long time to wait for the finale. Wasn't part II delayed because of a school shooting?

"Earshot" was delayed until months after the finale due to Columbine. "Graduation Day Part II" was held off because they were worried it'd give kids the idea of stashing weapons under their ceremonial gowns.

Graduation Day Part II was indeed held back because, following Columbine, the powers at be didn't think it would be the best idea to show an entire graduating class bringing weapons to school...and the school blowing up part probably didn't help.

 

Anyone check out the premiere of that new political drama show on NBC ("Mr. Something or other" ... the independant senator)? It featured both Travers (of the Council) and old Xander (from the wedding episode) as senators.

 

I saw on MTV News yesterday that Ashanti is going to be in an upcoming episode as a potential love interest for Xander. I got the impression she might be a slayer in training.
