cawthon777 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2003 Friend of mine forwarded this to me (unsure of the website it was initially posted on, but it's reliable). Spoilers within. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Word is that Sarah Michelle Gellar has pretty much decided not to sign on for another season, so Joss Whedon and Co. are heavily weighing spinoff possibilities--and Faith the Vampire Slayer appears to be the front-runner. There's just one issue, though: Does Eliza want to do it? Last week, I had the pinch-me pleasure of visiting the Angel set, as they taped what looks to be a stunning upcoming episode. (Stay tuned for all the juicy goodness from that visit, including a sitdown with David Boreanaz and Charisma Carpenter.) Both Alyson Hannigan and Eliza were on hand as guest stars, and though I wasn't able to ask specifically about a Faith spinoff, they did offer up a bit of insight. When asked if she still plans on going back to school, Eliza replied: "Each year, I say I'm going to go to school next year. And it's inevitable that I'll end up getting my education. But I love working--I'm a worker bee at heart. I love coming here. It's such a stimulus. When I'm not doing anything, that's when I'm freaking out. I get neurotic and analytical and like, 'I need a shrink!' I'm trying to figure it out. I'm definitely conflicted as to what happens from here." I also asked Eliza if she wants to stay in TV or do more film. "It's been nice working on Angel, because it shoots here in Los Angeles," she said. "I can drive myself to work, then drive home and visit my friends or my brothers. But it's also kind of cool to shoot off and do a movie for three months. You're in, you're out, boom, you get the final product. I don't necessarily love one more than the other. TV can be a long commitment, but at the same time...you never know."Ain't that the truth, sister! So, it looks like we'll just have to wait patiently (grrr, argh!) to find out whether the "conflicted" Eliza is here to slay. As for the rest of the Scoobs, Hannigan mentioned she's "not sure" about the spinoff thing, saying, "It really depends on what it is, and who's involved." But she says James Marsters and Nicholas Brendon would definitely be on board. "Nick is like, 'I'll be a janitor or something!' And I'm, like, "Don't you care what it is? C'mon, Joanie Loves Chachi didn't really work so well.' But he's, like, 'Nope, don't care. I'll be a janitor!' "
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 2, 2003 I think a spinoff is the only place to go...they've gone as far on Buffy as they can. Plus they can't do the show right without Sarah.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 3, 2003 Spinoff? NO!!!! If Buffy goes down the show goes down with her. Also, I've decided that Giles wil be the big bad this season.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2003 Giles? That would be NASTY!! What's your theory though? Dames
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 3, 2003 I, like everyone else keep waivering on whether or not he is alive, dead, the first or a good ghost like Joyce may be. This has to be done on purpose to mess with us. I have no further idea.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2003 Giles the big bad? SACRALIGE! BLASPHEMY!
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted February 3, 2003 I'm not up on my rules of the First, even though they seem to get bent sometimes... I just think it would be neato if instead of killing Giles, Giles became a human host of the First in order to get close to Buffy and the other slayers and take them all out. I mean...the first knows her weakness and she couldn't possibly kill Giles. I'm sure it breaks the rules...but dammit...that's what I want to see. Sure to include some great Buffy emoting. Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted February 4, 2003 Giles was too insistent with the Eye thing though. If he was the first, why didn't he just shrug and give up? Unless...if he is the First, he could have been searching for to see if there was any way he could be defeated. Just wanting to make sure and all. Wouldn't the Eye deal figure out who it was though? Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted February 4, 2003 I think the all-knowing Beljoxa's Eye would have sensed something, anything, if it was in that close of contact with The First. And I'm sure that the First would be way too smart to inhabit himself in a mortal's body. You have your plus side, in being able to get close to the gang. But being placed into a host body would (conceivably) be a huge danger, far outweighing the good aspects, as it would probably offer a way for the First to be extinguished, should the host body die. I mentioned this on a different message board, but I think Giles went in protected by a spell of some sort (by the never seen Coven, most likely) before being attacked by the Bringer. I totally agree with that. Giles and Willow both knew something big and bad was coming - it would make sense for him to protect himself given the severity of the situation. ...But the fact that it hasn't been proven one way or the other bothers me (damn you, Joss ... damn you). I guess we find out tonight.
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted February 4, 2003 In the paper today, under the TV listing for Buffy, it says "The gang is unhinged by a discovery about Giles." Hmm....
Guest Lil Naitch Report post Posted February 4, 2003 Quite frankly, I would watch a spinoff. I watch for Willow and Xander now mostly, Buffy is a runner-up. Or better yet, put in Faith, or activate Kennedy. That way, Buffy can retire and make cameo's in future eps. And as I've read spoilers for tonights' episode (since we in St. Louis don't get it untill Friday'" I can say that it's going to be a good episode. Don't miss! LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Giles is alive!!!!!!!!!!!! whooo hooo Great episode tonight........I was almost crying when Willow was crying. Line of the night: "You think I'm evil for taking some girls camping and NOT touching them?" - Giles
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Wow, whatta episode. Looks like we'll find out what happened to Giles next week (unless I missed it). Kennedy and Willow = Yum.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2003 So here's the question of the week........to remove the chip or not. Do you think she'll have it removed?
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Well, if Spike gets it removed, does that mean he'll become an Angel-type vampire? Meaning that will he lose his soul if he has one moment of true happiness?
Guest Cavi Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Thoughts on tonight's episode... I didn't realize while watching, but my sister just pointed this out to me - the Initiative was filled with cement (or at least that's what we were led to believe). Maybe they will explain that (I avoid the spoilers, so maybe they do, who knows). Other than that, I liked the episode. Buffy has a bit of a conundrum on her hands with whether or not to get Spike's chip taken out.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Well, if Spike gets it removed, does that mean he'll become an Angel-type vampire? Meaning that will he lose his soul if he has one moment of true happiness? No because the only reason Angel lost his soul during true happiness was because of the curse.......it's not a normal vampire rule.
Guest DawnBTVS Report post Posted February 5, 2003 I liked the episode...loved Willow as usual. Warren(Crap, can't remember the actor's name) ruled in this episode. Great job being Willow while being himself as well. Andrew was funny too and loved the "Giles touching" scene.
Guest Cavi Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Adam Busch is his name. Guy definitely has the acting skills. The stuff with Willow was indeed excellent. Alyson is so awesome at crying on camera.
Guest DawnBTVS Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Yeah, thanks for the name btw To me, Aly's one of the few who can make their crying seem realistic and not put on.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted February 5, 2003 <--Would Hit Kennedy like a Friday Night. Otherwise, not a great eps. but Andrew definitely should get his own spin-off show cause he's the fuckin MAN. Maybe put Xander and Chandler from Friends on too - and put it on FOX. And then put a really hot chick on. Oh the humanity.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 5, 2003 What can I say, another great episode. I thought it was a little lame they brought Willow back with just another kiss, should have been a little more to that. They seemed to leave a little open for next week. Giles going into detail about what happened to him. Spike and the chip. I see no harm in keeping the chip in if they can fix it. Why would he need it out? So he can harm humans? There should be no problems with the chip staying put. Yeah, when they were going back to the Initiative I thought it would be cement..."fill the Iniative with cement, salt the earth, gentlemen." or something like that. I'll post again later I'm sure
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2003 I have a question. How did Amy hex Willow before the kiss?
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted February 5, 2003 I thought it was a little lame they brought Willow back with just another kiss, should have been a little more to that. Youth, they can't show THAT on TV. Mmm, Comfy. The chip has been in long enough - now its time to see if Spike really is bad... Put all the pressure possible on the Gang. They gave out lil eps. like this to make you feel comfortable, foreshadow and to set somethings out - the shit will hit the fan soon.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted February 5, 2003 The reason the kiss brought her back was because the whole reason she was turning into him was because the hex worked off her guilt. She felt guilty for kissing Kennedy because it meant she finally let go of Tara. Kennedy had to show her it was alright.

And not a lot of Dawn in this episode
Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted February 5, 2003 Fun episode. I loved the stuff with Xander/Anya/Andrew...and Giles was awesome. "So...you thought I was evil because I took the girls on a camping trip and didn't touch them?" And I also would hit Kennedy six ways to Sunday. Mmm, Kennedy.
