Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Season 7

Wow, now everyone isn't liking season 7? All I was hearing is how great the season was, then all of the sudden, it sucks.

 

I like it, and will probably go number 2 on my list behind season 3.

I like Season 7. Some shit ("He") but otherwise pretty fun. Far from the glory days of season 3, however.

Season 7 is just a whole big bunch of blah. The only really shitty episode was Him, and the only really good episodes were CWDP and Selfless. So, nothing of note since episode 7.

 

It's not the worst season, just the most dissapointing.

 

 

Edit: Now that I think about the first episode again...whatever happened to Dawn's Scrappy gang? Not that I'd want to see them again, it just seemed like they were gonna be more than 1 shot characters.

What I can always take away from this season...

 

Episode 2, Beneath You, James Marster, Blue lit Church....greatest acting perfromance on this shows history and best performace I have seen on TV...well...I can't remember a better one.

This season has just fizzled out a bit with the Potentials crap. It started out awesome with Crazy Spike, "Is Wood Evil?" and everything, hit the wall with the Potentials, and is picking back up with Caleb (even though he should have been introduced WAY earlier).

One of the other things that's bugged me about this season:

 

Willow. She's the most powerful person in the group, and what has she done this season? Barriers, locator spells, and get licked by Kennedy. Aside from her guest appearance on Angel, when was the last time she did ANY magic?

Didn't one of them become a potential? The mousey girl, I think. Can't really remember that episode, though.

But that makes sense, given the fact that she's very afraid of becoming Evil Willow again.

She sure didn't have any problems with potential evilness on Angel. She's shown that she has more control this year, and they tried to gloss over the whole evil Willow thing with Giles' "it wasn't really an addiction" line at the beginning of the year. Not to mention how they keep stressing how important this battle is, so, wouldn't you normally take risks in important battles?

 

And no, Millie wasn't one of the Scrappy gang, she was just one of the random kids in Buffy's counseling montages before she became a SiT.

Yeah, but on Angel, that was a simple spell and she even reiterated that it was the first one she ever did (Becoming Part 2) so therefore, it wasn't something she was concerned about.

Nope. She didn't start floating pencils until Season 3.

 

Her first spell was the re-ensouling of Angel in Becoming Part 2 after she found Jenny Calendar's disc. During the summer, she started reading up on Jenny's pagan sites and began her witchcraft.

But somehow she was able to make one later that was hard enough to pierce through skin far enough to stake a vamp.

Hrm, you sure? Ok.

 

 

Plus she also did the marble spell, which, is still just about as powerful as any spell she's done on Buffy this year, which is to say not very.

That was all in Season 3.

 

The same episode where she killed a Vamp with it was "Choices" and in that episode, she was kidnapped by The Mayor and Faith.

I still really like season 7...most of the episodes have been very good, with a bit of a drop off at some points. With a good ending, I could see it ending higher than Season 2 on my personal list. As someone said above, this isn't as good as Season 3. Unless they have some crazy good ending to make up for it.

And another thing about the SITs...unless Faith dies they're completly useless. You can't tell too much with the timeframe, but they appear to be regular girls with a couple months worth of training, this a Bringer or regular vamp should be able to waste them.

 

So if Faith doesn't die soon the SITs are for nothing.

Damn, now THAT'S how you do an episode. Probably 3rd best of the season behind Selfless and CWDP.

 

Chances are spoiler-hounds already know what's happening, and spoiler free people don't want to know, so..that's why I didn't really say anything in my spoiler.

Not to mention they have messed up the Slayer mythos. I just hate the whole idea and execution of the angle.

I do kinda like the SIT though, because at least it explains how the line of slayers gets to be. I was always wondering that. But yeah, it does kinda make Buffy not seem so special any more.
