Guest Lil Naitch Report post Posted March 22, 2003 What was cut out? I loved the cheesy little opening credits and the "The End" It was just done so well. And did everyone do their own singing? In that one scene it really looked like Dawn wasn't doing her own singing. Dawn had a song that was cut out of the re-broadcast. I never got to see the full version since we don't get UPN in St. Louis. When it comes out in Region 1, however, I will get it.
Guest Mole Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Plus the fact that in the next episode, don't know the name, she did the spell with bunnies. I remember watching that episode last year, and not gettting it because I don't watch the show. My ex-gf was laughing the whole time, but I didn't get shit because I didn't watch the show. However, watching it now was great because everything was just sooo funny, and added humor to a episode that turned out to be sad as fuck.
Guest Mole Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Quick question, how come Buffy was brought back not whole human? What's the deal with that?
Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted March 22, 2003 "Plus the fact that in the next episode, don't know the name, she did the spell with bunnies." The name of this ep would be 'Tabula Rasa.' And what you're asking was explained in 'Dead Things.' Buffy was indeed brought back human, but underwent a very minor molecular change that was able to fool Spike's chip. "Well, I said that there was nothing wrong with you but… you are different. Shifting you out of from where you were, funneling your essence back into your body… it altered you on a basic molecular level— probably just enough to confuse the sensors or whatever’s in Spike’s chip— but it’s all just surfacey physical stuff. It wouldn’t have any more effect than a bad sunburn." - Tara
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted March 22, 2003 The name of this ep would be 'Tabula Rasa.' Which has the classic. *after Spike finds out he's English* Giles: "You think we're brothers?" Spike: *snarl* "Father....oh God, how must I hate you." Spike/Randy: "Randy Giles? Why not just name me Horny Giles? Or In Desperate Need Of A Shag Giles." Giles: "Randy's...a family name." Spike/Randy: "I knew I hated you for a reason."

Spike/Randy: "I knew I hated you for a reason." How awesome was Tabula Rasa? I loved the interaction between Giles/Spike/Anya. Very good stuff. The "Randy" cracks were all hilarious, due to the fact that my name actually is Randy. If you translated my name I'd be "Horny Lion" or "Desperately In Need of a Shag Lion". *sigh* But yeah, Tabula Rasa rocks...a real gem in Season 6.
Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Not to mention that it had a few past references to watch out for too. Willow's "I think I'm kinda gay" line was from season 3's Dopplegangland. And Spike was wearing the same suit he wore in Restless, the ep in which one of Xander's fears was that Spike would become like a son to Giles instead of him... Then in Tabula Rasa, Spike actually does become Rupert's son. Great episode.
Guest Mole Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Yes, that episode is classic. Two great eps in a row with OMWF, then 'Tabula Rasa'. From what I have seen of season 6, I don't see why people flame it so much. The Three Nerds kind of remind me of the Mayor, just funny ass heels.
Guest Kingpk Report post Posted March 22, 2003 The season starts to suck over the next few episodes. It gets really bogged down in some dumb stuff. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Willow's "addiction" to magic, especially I put the spoiler tag there just for people who may be seeing this season for the first time. Guest Cavi Report post Posted March 23, 2003 *Scooby Gang decides to leave the Magic Box and head to the hospital* Buffy: "Any suggestions on how we're going to get there?" Spike: "Dad can drive. He's bound to have some classic midlife crisis transport. Something red, shiny, shaped like a penis."

LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): I had no problem with the storyline about Willow's addiction to magic. It set up her heel turn quite well I like season 6. Maybe I'm just a sucker for character development.
Guest Cavi Report post Posted March 23, 2003 I also liked the season. I'm certainly not one of the many Season Six haters out there. I have been having fun lately watching all of them again on FX in the mornings.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted March 23, 2003 I'm not a season 6 hater, dammit. It was just my least favorite. Excluding 1 cause they had to rush character development in only 12 episodes, I cut it some slack. I would watch Tabula now, but I just got Angel season 4 episodes 7-12 in the mail from a buddy...gotta get caught up.
Guest Mole Report post Posted March 23, 2003 I am defiently digging season 6 so far. I've seen it before, sort of. I wasn't into the show, so I half assed watched it. I just watched "Wrecked" and this was a great episode. The whole thing with Willow and her addiction to magic is great. Even though it's kind of embarrasing with the whole underlining drug thing. I wish they could just come out and say, "Its like taking drugs."
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2003 I have mixed feelings about Season 6. Loved the Trio ... loved Evil Willow ... didn't care for Dawn's social issues ... can't stand to watch the whole Buffy / Spike relationship (disturbing much?). "And here's the scene where Spike nails Buffy from behind on the balcony at the Bronze...And here's the scene where Spike nails Buffy outside of the Doublemeat Palace...And here's the scene where Buffy treats Spike like shit..." Lovely. I gotta get me one of those relationships!
Guest Mole Report post Posted March 24, 2003 I can't believe I am about to say this, but I actually like Dawn in the past few episodes. Maybe it was because she was so damn cute, but I do like her. Of course my hate will come back when she becomes super bitch again.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted March 24, 2003 I can't believe I am about to say this, but I actually like Dawn in the past few episodes. YNA: "Hey Molestomp, come here, I got something to show ya." MS: "Sure, what is-" YNA: *SMACK!* I hate hate hate hate Dawn. The only time I even slightly marked for her was in "Conversations With Dead People." Other then that I hate hate hate hate Dawn. "Anchovies, anchovies, you're so delicious. You're my favorite of all the fishes." And that's it! They matured her character so poorly. Although so say something that would sound better coming from Spike. "She's a tasty little nibblit, that one."
Guest LaParkaMarka Report post Posted March 24, 2003 Does anyone else think Alyson Hannigan taking the role in American Pie has effectively killed her career? When I introduce people to Buffy, one of the first things they say is "Hey, it's the Flute Girl!" and then they laugh, and most of them can't take anything Willow does seriously since she's just the Flute Girl. Did anyone who watched American Pie before Buffy have this kind of attitude towards Alyson? Did you eventually move past it, or is she still Flute Chick first, Willow second? When I introduce people to Buffy, one of the first things they say is "Hey, it's the Flute Girl!" and then they laugh, and most of them can't take anything Willow does seriously since she's just the Flute Girl. Did anyone who watched American Pie before Buffy have this kind of attitude towards Alyson? Did you eventually move past it, or is she still Flute Chick first, Willow second? American Pie came at a time where I wasn't watching Buffy any longer(or anything besides sports on TV for that matter), so when I say Alyson in American Pie, I knew she was on Buffy and that was where she came from, but didn't think she were Willow while watching the movie. So I had no problems seperating the characters. On AP she was the Flute girl, but on Buffy she was Willow. I don't usually have problems with distinguishing characters. Like now I watch Dragnet, but Ed O'Neill isn't Al Bundy. You would think with Al being so iconic everyone wouldn't be able to get past that character. But to me he isn't Al Bundy, he's Joe Friday(btw, Professor Walsh is also on Dragnet, just about every show I watch has some link to the Buffy/Angel universe, weird huh?). But, back to the Aly part. When discussing things with other people and I refer to Ms. Hannigan(for whatever reason), they are all like "Who?" and inevitably I have to say "the flute chick from American Pie", which kinda sucks because she's been on Buffy longer and all. She was Willow first. Oh well.

Six degrees of Buffy begins now... Ethan Emby stars with Ed O'Neill in Dragnet... Ethan Embry was in 'Can't Hardly Wait' which starred Seth Green, Amber Benson, and the bully from 'The Zeppo' (This also works quite easily for 'Bye Bye Love' starring Maggie Walsh, Amber Benson, and the lovely Ms. Dushku)

She was Willow first. Oh well. Actually this is what happened to me. I knew Willow before Aly appeared in AP, but now whenever I see an older episode (Season 1-2 really, Willow didn't "mature" untill mid-way season 2) I keep expecting Willow to utter that famous phrase: "Well, there was this one time...at band camp..." At least there are simmliarities in both characters (a strong willed woman trapped inside a "geeky" shy persona) what do people do with Seth Green being Oz, the laconic but sharp witted wearwolf on Buffy and is also known as the perpetually pissed off at his father Scott Evil in the Austin Powers movies (sort of like Connor on Angel) Steve

LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2003 Okay the commercial said Buffy has 9 weeks left. Is that 9 episodes or just nine weeks including reruns? And tonight's episode looks good.
Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted March 26, 2003 Nine weeks including reruns. Tonight's ep, 'Lies My Parents Told Me' is #17. A spoiler tag may be needed here, I guess. So after tonight there are only... Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Five new episodes left. Or four technically, if they go with a two-hour finale. And yes, I read the spoilers for tonight's ep ahead of time. It looks great.
Guest DawnBTVS Report post Posted March 26, 2003 What is it with Giles sneaking behind Buffy's back? First the Helpless deal and now this? Gah...and next episode looks awesome! Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Evil Spikey!!! Also great to see more backstory on Spike. They could easily have a spinoff devoted to Spike's backstory at this rate. Guest Cavi Report post Posted March 26, 2003 Next week is indeed a rerun. In fact, the next new episode isn't until April 22. They are thankfully doing the last five all in a row. I enjoyed tonight's ep. I'm always a mark for flashbacks.
