Who rates RVD highly in ring?

How can he be overrated when even his biggest supporters acknowledge that the guy sucks in the ring?

Shawn Michaels?! Overrated?! Are you joking?! He's arguably the greatest wrestler ever when you combine the psychology, aerial, and technical aspects. He changed the way aerial wrestling is perceived. He is NOT overrated.

Hahaha!!!

He is a "master of pshycology"?

Bret was better.

He was the best "aerial guy ever"?

Nope Rey Mysterio, Jericho, hell even arguably Benoit are better.

"Great Technician"???

Please I am not gonna go into it but to say I can think of five better right off the top of my head.

Shawn Michaels is the lucky recipient of a five year blowjob from VKM.

HAHA! Yeah, what next? "Shawn was a great world champion"?

Shawn is arguably the greatest ever? he wouldn't even feature in my top 15.

Master of psychology is a new one

Benoit, Santo, Guerrero, Juventud, and many other all topped Michaels in his heyday.

As for Benoit being overrated overall, I don't think anyone here thinks to highly of his mic work.

Notice that I said when one balances not just aerial ability, but technical skills and psychology, he's one of the best.

Duh...Rey is ten times better in the air.

Jericho isn't as aerial as HBK was.

Nobody's denying that Bret was a better wrestler when it comes to using psychology. He certainly wasn't very aerial, though. When you balance the ability of using psychology in a match, aerial skills, and technical expertise, I stand by what I said:

HBK is ONE OF the best ever (not the best; one of the best).

HBK is very good at using psychology. Watch him vs. HHH at SummerSlam 2002. That match was layed out perfectly.

His matches w/ Marty, 'Taker, Bret, etc. were tremendous in terms of the pacing, psychology used, and timing.

At the time that he retired (in '98), he was the possibly the most innovative performer ever. He competed in the first ladder, H.I.A.C., and Iron Man matches in WWE history. The spots he did were amazing at the time.

I knew someone would say it...

so you get the question.

If it was layed out so well, and the psychology was so tight...

explain to me the logic of having HBK come in with a back injury...have his back worked on for a long time...

then completely no sell it for the second half of the match.

I'm sorry, but that SummerSlam match and the first HITC are two of the most overrated matches ever. I don't want anybody to think I hate Shawn, because I don't, but he is overrated big time.

The SummerSlam match was about 10 minutes too long, and HBK made his usual Superman comeback and forgot all about the broken back he was supposed to be selling.

In the HITC match, HBK bumps around like a suicidal stuntman, which is fun, but to call it a ***** match (like Meltzer did) confuses me, somewhat.

I like HBK too...and I'm not attacking him (but if I were he'd likely kip up and no sell it...BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA)

Some of my favorite matches are HBK matches...Mind Games with Foley, the two ladder matches...and I really like his match with JJ for no particular reason it's one of my all time favorites.

Might as well be the first to say it:

They had ladder and Iron Man matches before he was doing them, and just because you're *booked* in one doesn't make you innovative. I also see that you have NEW JACK~! in your sig, along with a reference to fellatio and Hulk Hogan. Ah well....

I personally don't care about overratedness, I just go by who is worthless. We all know who the usual suspects are, so no need for me to repeat them.

*shhh*

don't question that logic gap....

and by the way HBK fan wherever you are....

Bret could be every bit as "aerial" when he felt the need...

Witness his Early-Mid 90's work.

I love how Ramsus has taken control of the thread. The creator didn't say overrated in just wrestling ability nor what I said about Angle using moves popularized by others in the WWE (not popularized overall, but I mean just in the WWE) who are still around or have been not too long ago and personally finding Eddie's promos annoying and Jericho's humor to be childish and corny aren't wrong. If you want to control people's personal opinions, go run a cult or dictatorship.

The person that started the thread only referred to the actual wrestling when he made his choices. He made no mention of "charisma" or mic skills in his choices only mentioned the wrestling.

Wouldn't you get the hint when you've been banned from every message board you've been on? Don't be such a tool man. You won't get very far.

Am I blind or is the title "Most Overrated WWE WORKER"

Are we to include all employees or take it as "worker" as in "ability to work" as in "ability to work a match"

"Is it possible for you guys who have mancrushes on Benoit to NOT be overly defensive and sensitive when someone attacks the love of your life?"

Wow a childish response.....I never expected that.

You're kidding right? That match was emotional and fun, but it was also full of bad selling.

Shawn Michaels in his prime was still not fit to carry 80s Ric Flair's jock strap.

Shawn Michaels in his prime was lucky to be among the ten best workers. Hart, Austin, Juventud, Mysterio, Santo, Guerrero, Benoit, Liger, Dragon, Kawada, Misawa, Samurai.

Last time I checked I wasn't banned anywhere. I can still go back to WDI whenever I please. Getting back on topic, I don't think Shawn is that overrated. He could certainly captivate a crowd and he had that sort of balance between flying and matwork. Granted he's not the best technician or even maybe in the top 100 but I still liked his knee moves and his armdrag/arm submissions. Shawn also could do his little bit of psychology too. He was usually believably very fatigued towards the end of his matches. Most notably, Shawn's stumbling around at times.

Shawn Michaels may be one of the greatest SPORTZ ENTERTAINERS ever.

But workers? Nooooooooo. Nope.

Not to take anything away from the guy. I mean, I'm not a big HBK fan....but yes, without question he was good in the ring.

Best ever though? No. It's not "debatable". He's not.

Hell, Kurt Angle runs cirlces around HBK in his prime, and Kurt's only been around for about 3 years now.

No one ever sells anything in wrestling. If you did, guess what, one piledriver would break your neck. One back breaker would end your career. No one ever sells. Not the crippler or HBK or anyone else.

There is "not selling" and NOT SELLING.

You know this.

Shawn is a NO SELLER.

what's the deal with shawn supposedly being a bad worker? why is it the sign of a bad worker to cover for a big guy's flaws by bumping your ass off & making him look good? he was always crisp in the ring, his timing was good...where's the problem?
