Guest fazzle Report post Posted November 25, 2002 Austin holding McMahon Hostage was quite easily the best RAW of that summer. Vince 3:16 says I just pissed my pants... that was a classic You have GOT to be kidding me. That's easily one of my least favorite Stone Cold moments. Anyways, I voted for Kid over Ramon. Sure, nowadays it's seen as "just X-Pac" and "clique politics" but back then, it was fucking awesome.
Guest Olympic Slam Report post Posted November 25, 2002 I voted for "It Never Happened." However, the moment would still mean a lot more had Jericho not won the Undisputed Title.
Guest Hogan Made Wrestling Report post Posted November 25, 2002 Austin vs. Tyson for sure, it was such a huge moment in wrestling history and unlike really anything else on RAW before or since. After that, basically all of the Hart foundation stuff, and the stuff leading up to it, including: -Bret goes berserk before WM after losing to Sid, and a wild brawl starts (including Vince). -Shawn superkicks Bret in the wheelchair. -Bret stops the Owen-Bulldog match and the Harts reunite. -Austin attacks Bret in the ambulance. -Michaels/Austin vs. Owen/Bulldog, plus the beatdown on Bret at the end. -Hart anti-USA promos, particularly the one in Canada that drew enormous face pops. Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2002 Since i really didn't follow wrestling all that closely until the summer of 99 i wonder something. I remember seeing Vince McMahon on Jay Leno once and they were promoting a Vince/Shane vs Austin for ownership of the WWF. Did that ever happen and if so what was the results? Austin wins?? AND was that a RAW moment, because that just sounds like an Austin ran WWF would rock my vote.
Guest CanadianChris Report post Posted November 25, 2002 On heat they just said that the special will be live from the world and that many past raw personalities will be there. You goota be kidding me...and I just had a thought that someone over there would think of doing a retrospective, in this era of "season premieres" and "guest stars" on wrestling programs. What's next? You guessed it... "Tonight, on a very special RAW...the superstars hold an intervention for Jeff Hardy."

It was a ladder match that involved a briefcase that held the "documents" that would allow the winner full ownership. Vince and Shane won, though after a nasty spot where Austin dropped the entrance set (stacked ladders) on them. There was supposed to be some kind of underlying angle, as someone lifted the briefcase just as Austin was about to win the match. In the Vince Russo era of WWF programming, however, it wasn't mentioned again. Surprise surprise. It didn't matter really. Steve went on to win the title the very next night. I believe before that however, Austin was given power by Linda McMahon and even went as far as to Austinize Vince's actual office in WWF HQ. I didn't care for the angle as I hated Steve's character then.
