Guest godthedog Posted November 30, 2002 Report Posted November 30, 2002 the refreshments, 'banditos' dishwalla, 'counting blue cars' folk implosion, 'natural one' stone roses, 'love spreads' goldfinger, 'here in your bedroom' freedy johnston, 'this perfect world' i've got about 4 mix cd's filled with singles from the 90s done by people never to be heard from again. i'll have to post the playlists sometime.
Guest Incandenza Posted December 1, 2002 Report Posted December 1, 2002 OOOOOOOOOOOOH! Local H's "Bound for the Floor"!!!!!!!!!!!! Their first and most recent albums sucked, but As Good as Dead and Pack Up the Cats rocked da hizzy.
Guest Kinetic Posted December 1, 2002 Report Posted December 1, 2002 Has anyone mentioned Fastball yet? "Fire Escape," I think it was. I don't remember how the song went, but it was a pretty big hit.
Guest Incandenza Posted December 1, 2002 Report Posted December 1, 2002 I thought Fastball did "The Way." Also, since godthedog mentioned it, I thought the Freedy Johnston's hit was "Bad Reputation."
Guest Kinetic Posted December 1, 2002 Report Posted December 1, 2002 You're right. "Fire Escape" was the inevitable follow-up single that failed to catch on. I believe I'd consider Everything But The Girl to be a one hit wonder, as the only thing I've ever heard from them is "Missing." Not a bad song, either.
Guest goodhelmet Posted December 1, 2002 Report Posted December 1, 2002 as i recall 'the way' was a big hit and they followed up with another song that garnered much radio play... 'out of my head'
Metal Ed Posted December 1, 2002 Report Posted December 1, 2002 "You're right," is what I would say if I was Kinetic. As it is, I ain't sayin shit since I don't pay attention to no sissy pop music.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted December 2, 2002 Report Posted December 2, 2002 Metal Ed is like Bad Medicine, but Bad Medicine is what we need.
Guest JangoFett4Hire Posted December 2, 2002 Report Posted December 2, 2002 i've got about 4 mix cd's filled with singles from the 90s done by people never to be heard from again. i'll have to post the playlists sometime. God, please do so.
Guest Sassquatch Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 I did like the Sneaker Pimps "6 Underground" when it came out in 1996 for Val Kilmer's "The Saint" soundtrack.
Guest godthedog Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 I thought Fastball did "The Way." Also, since godthedog mentioned it, I thought the Freedy Johnston's hit was "Bad Reputation." whoops. 'bad reputation' was the song. i was thinking of the album title.
Guest JangoFett4Hire Posted December 4, 2002 Report Posted December 4, 2002 The Flys aaaa-whooooooooooo-ooooooooo Got you where i want you... Katie Holmes was in that video, right? *drools*
Guest hardyz1 Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 Soul Asylum also had "Misery". I think New Radicals had another song, too. "Someday We'll Know" or something like that.
Guest HungryJack Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 to whoever aid on the first page that Tonic was a one-hit wonder: I'LL CUT YOU! They've had so many verifiable hits . Open up Your Eyes, If You could only see, Sugar, etc.... Tonic kicks ass. Fuckers.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 Has anyone mentioned Dog's Eye View yet? I remember that band, but not the song they did.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 Gotta love that Dog's Eye View
Guest treble charged Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 No and no. Damn, you're impatient.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted December 5, 2002 Report Posted December 5, 2002 I vaguely remember them being some kind of innocuous radio crap like Third Eye Blind and Matchbox 20, but I could be wrong.
Guest Bosstones Fan Posted December 11, 2002 Report Posted December 11, 2002 Has anyone mentioned Dog's Eye View yet? I remember that band, but not the song they did. The band was Dog's Eye View, and the song was called Everything Falls Apart.
Paul Stanley Posted December 12, 2002 Report Posted December 12, 2002 Guilty - Gravity Kills Day Dawning (I think that is the name???) - Placebo Sodajerk - Buffalo tom The hell, Placebo isn't a one-hit wonder.
Guest godthedog Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 and who can forget the timeless hit by del amitri, 'roll over me'? EVERYBODY CAN! CAUSE IT'S SO FORGETTABLE!
Guest Incandenza Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 I had no idea Placebo ever had a hit. Where was I?
Guest Bosstones Fan Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 I had no idea Placebo ever had a hit. Where was I? Drunk? High? Or both?
Guest godthedog Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 you should download it: 'pure morning'. pretty bitchin track.
B. Brian Brunzell Posted December 13, 2002 Report Posted December 13, 2002 and who can forget the timeless hit by del amitri, 'roll over me'? EVERYBODY CAN! CAUSE IT'S SO FORGETTABLE! Well, that just brought back bad memories. Nothing more frightening than seeing their lead singer's head in a baby carriage. Well, besides Les Claypool in a green crushed-velvet suit wearing a big mask and doing funky jigs all about in the video for "Mr. Krinkle."

Well, besides Les Claypool in a green crushed-velvet suit wearing a big mask and doing funky jigs all about in the video for "Mr. Krinkle." i thought the image of the primus guys in the big cowboy outfits with the slightly creepy lighting in 'wynonna's big brown beaver' was more disturbing, but to each his own.

That's also a bit troubling, but the thing that really made "Mr. Krinle" horrifying for me when I was younger was the circus freaks in the background doing all kind of crazy shit. The first time I saw that vid I must've been 12 or 13, and watching that on The Ball, I was like "OK, this is the scariest shit I've ever seen."
