Him mixing up the Hardyz with each other and Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho with each other is when I got the clue that he was losing it.

The Hardyz I can kinda see since I didn't know who was who at first either.

However, a pissed off, squat-looking wrestler with a beard and short hair confused with a long-haired wise-ass of rather small (for a WWE wrestler) build? Sure, both named Chris, but usually they are referred to by their last name if they have a first and a last ring name.

The only thing that really annoys me about Ross is that he almost never calls a wrestler's trademark move by name (like it took him a long time to call the Shining Wizard). His hypocrisy/hyperness is pretty funny most of the time. My favorite was when HHH interfered in the Austin/Angle match and laid Austin out with a pipe...and Ross is all "DAMN YOU TRIPLE H!!!!!! YOU SCREWED AUSTIN YOU SON OF A BITCH! DAMN YOU! DAMN YOUR SOUL!!!!!!!!!!!" And Hunter's standing right over him posing on the announce table. The look on Ross' face was classic too.

Hell Ross was bent over screaming into his mic to try to get the best effect.

You know I'm going to laugh when one day he's all like "DAMN YOU TO HELL!" and somebody walks over there and slaps him for it.

I haven't enjoyed Ross whatsoever since 2001 when most shows revolved around Austin and he shilled quite well for him. Without Steve in a big match, JR seems to lose interest the whole time (as do I, though) even when calling his beloved Hoss's matches.

Guys, didn't you know? James Ross died a long time ago from the Bells Palsy. Vince knew the time would come when JR just couldn't keep goin on announcing so he had the scientists at Titan Towers CREATE a whole new breed of announcer...

They came up with: JR-BOT 2000~!

He is programmable with 25 cliches and 10 moves names along with the entire roster of Superstars.

I mean, how else could you explain:

"Bah Gawd what an inverted slam by... 'Bob Holly'"

or

"Bah Gawd... 'Matt Hardy'... with a.... 'Swanton Bomb'"

(Glitch in the system)

or "'Victoria'... is crazier than a pet coon"

"TYSON TYSON TYSON RIGHT HAND RIGHT HAND RIGHT HAND AUSTIN AUSTIN AUSTIN STUNNER STUNNER STUNNER!"

(Feedback loop)

The JR stuff goes further back to 1989 lol

Watch the Flair/Steamboat blowoff match at WrestleWar 89 I believe, where JR says something like "This is the NWA... where we wrestle! We don't pose... we don't come out to Rock and Roll music..."

From WrestleMania 13 "It's not about posing, it's not about covering a bald spot. This is about athleticism!"

Before WrestleMania X8 on the subject of Hulk Hogan "the fans are cheering because of nostalgia"

After WrestleMania "It's not about nostalgia... it's about respect!"

Senile JR said the Tenth Anniversary of Raw was fifteen years in the making.

Did I miss something? Did some prototype of RAW debut five years prior to the real RAW or something?

Actually, yes.

WWF Primetime Wrestling ran on USA on Mondays (sometimes Tuesdays) from 1985 to Raw's debut. Timeframe's still wrong though, as it'd make RAW X an event eighteen years in the making.

Who should they get as replacement PBP then? And they should get a new color as well. If the circumstances were right, Curt Hennig would make a damn fine color. Or Bobby Heenan.

All Hennig would probably do is take more potshots at Lesnar(even if he replaced The King on Raw, which isn't the show Lesnar's on anymore).

As for Heenan, I don't know how good he would be anymore due to throat cancer, but at least he hasn't lost his humor.

CanadianChick, I know what you mena. I noticed it too. Another thing i noticed is that he likes to talk right through a Y2J promo and is ALWAYS running him down. Even when Y2J was a face JR never really got excited about him. I thin there's genuine dislike there for whatever reason. Probably because Y2J isn't over 6'3 and 280lbs. He never gives Y2J any credit, but is quick to sing the praises of how impressive Batista is when he hits someone with a freakin clothesline.

Bollocks, sheer and utter. JR went nuts for face Jericho. Exhibit A, Royal Rumble 2001, Jericho-Benoit ladder match. JR just spazzed out completely when Jericho won it, screaming "JERICHO! JERICHO! JERICHO!" at the top of his voice. He was like this for all of Jericho's face matches. Rewriting history = suckage.

It's strange. Practically everyone else on the roster, regardless of whether they are a heel or face, get some sort of praise from JR. The most Y2J gets is "he's athleticlly talented" but then followed up with an insult. Ya know, if JR is going to do that , which I have no problem with since he is the facce commetator, he should be consistent, just like The King should be consistent in cheering for heels.

HHHusHHH, CHHHick, you have no idea wHHHat you are saying.

I actually theorized this same thing long ago, but his hoss-obsession seemed to rule that out since I don't remember JR doing that before. :P

Maybe it's addition Vince had put in, though.

See, that's what I was thinking, but with JR I had no clue.

I think JR probably just screwed up. I doubt they would actually acknowledge Prime Time.

You know, I intended to come on here being a parody of JR. But then I realised no one does a better Parody than JR himself. The hypocrisy is unbelievable..

Typical wrestling match...

Heel interferes.. "Mah Gawd, What business does he have out here, he aint in the damn match! Damn him to Hell"

Face interferes "Good Gawd Almighty King!! Business is about to Pick Up!!"

I can't wait for the day that he slips up and calls HHH a "jezabel".

Yes, at Vengeance JR first screwed up and forgot where WM 3 took place, then when he issued his correction he screwed up again and gave the wrong date.

I was introduced to pro wrestling during my first few months (the time when you're the biggest mark you'll ever be) listening to Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole from Royal Rumble 99 to the main event of WM15 or so. I guess that's why I don't hate Cole with a firey passion like so many do, but merely find him irritating.

When I saw this Ross guy, I had to post a "WTF is this guy and why the hell is he here?" post on a newsgroup. I was immediately chewed out and told I was disrespecting the greatest commentator in the history of the business.

Well, fuck those people, because it's four years later and I still think JR is crazy and out of touch. Sorry.

I know what you mean about the mark thing. I used to be a SC mark. Hell, even in my 'newbie' stage, I could tell how bad HHH's wrestling was. I especially remember a match of his with Angle...I think it was during SD. H's punches were the biggest 'air' punches I've ever seen.

I can't wait for the day that he slips up and calls HHH a "jezabel".

That would be just too funny. But what would be even funnier is JR trying to correct himself.

I loved it the night after the 2001 Survivor Series when Heyman came down to the ring, only to be fired and he tried to jump over the announce table to his chair. JR was just laying a beating on the poor guy that was so funny you couldn't help laughing your ass off watching it.

O_o

I could never be an SC mark. I never liked the guy from the start.

Mick Foley wrote that he never wants to meet the guy who thought his infamous I Quit match was great. I'm probably that guy. That was the first match I saw (well, Road Dogg vs Bossman was the first match I saw, but let's forget about that because that's a terrible start for a wrestling fan) and what made me say "I guess I have to see this Monday night thing tomorrow to see where this goes" was Rock/Foley in I Quit. I'm not a gore hound, but there was no way that performance could go past my vision without taking my attention with it (does that even make sense? LOL)

I never could mark for SCSA because I was a mark for Rock (although nowadays I treasure every time a crowd turns ugly on him, in hopes the heel Rock I liked who thinks he's some kind of godlike person can return) and I marked for Vince/Corporation in general. I used to really like McMahons the on-air character (I was happy to hear Vince won the title in late 99, never once crossing my mind how stupid it is for a promoter to give himself his own championship title) until WM in 2000, when I finally realized I'd had my fill of McMahons and could live peacefully if they retired their on-air personas.

HHH/HBK SummerSlam proved I still like to root for the "average guy" anytime a non-wrestler takes on a regular worker.

It was Vince that drew me in with his "Kiss My Ass Club". The first one I saw, thank God, was when he ordered Steve Austin to kiss his ass. Of course, we all know how THAT went. I wanted to see what Vince would do to get his revenge...and slowly I became hooked.

Yeah. Although I've been doing my best to rent as much PPVs as possible. So, unfortunately, I can only see the best things (E & C, DX, etc) in clips/video packages. I think the first PPV I rented was Invasion, and the first video I bought was DX.

How could anyone be drawn in by the Kiss My Ass club? I was there live when that paticular incident you are referring to happened......it was terrible.....

If everyone's taking a trip down memory lane then I will to! The thing that got me hooked on Wrestling was seeing Ric Flair walk out holding THE REAL WORLD'S HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP! WHOOO! I was like "Man who's this guy and what's with the belt!?" *i was only like 6 and had never heard of wrestling* and I watched it and thought it ruled all. Now 12 years later I still recognize the man!

^ I can see how someone who isn't familiar with all the happenings of 1998/99 would see that and be like "whoa no way, that's cool, he's attacking his boss". I envy you actually.

If you get a chance, try to pick up a tape WWF released a whle back called 'Austin v McMahon'
