Chunk Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Is it true the American Dragon has a trial match on Velocity this wekk. I heard it was against Jamie Noble. I just hope ive got the weeks the right way around, because I dont want to be missing that! ChUnK!
Guest The Electrifyer Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Yeah, I think Dragon is competing tonight. It'll be the first time I actually see the guy perform. Also, Spanky's on tonight again, as the Jet I think.
Guest art_vandelay Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Tonight: Spanky vs. Shannon Moore Noble vs. American Dragon Chuck vs. Xavier
Guest HartFan86 Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 It's like a fucking Indy Wrestler InVasion.
Guest Human Fly Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Too bad Chuck's there to mess everything up
Chunk Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 It's like a fucking Indy Wrestler InVasion. Which is only good if you ask me. Pity that Chuck is on the card, but take away him and you got 3 great matches. Its a shame that all three indy guys will lose, and each match will only last about 3 minutes. American Dragon is an amazing talent, but needs a good 15 minutes to get warmed up. Why have they changed Spanky's name to Jet??? Spanky sounds fine to me. I hear that Chris Daniels was called up to the WWE again, to screw over IWA MS. Replace Chuck with Daniels, cut the recap crap and who needs The Rumble. You got the best WWE card in a long time right there. Anyone know what name AmDrag will wrestle under? ChUnK!
Yuna_Firerose Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 The RAW 10th Anniversary Spectacular rocked The World this past Monday night. Yes it did...but not the way they wanted it to!
Guest TajiriMark Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Sounds like an awesome card tonight! I don't know why they had Chuck wrestle Xavier instead of another Cruiser, but Chuck is certainly better than Bill DeMott. I also notice they only have three matches on the card tonight, hopefully that's a sign that they will give the Spanky vs. Shannon Moore and Jamie Noble vs. American Dragon matches alot of time. ~Pac
JustJoe2k5 Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 WWE has been naming Spanky differently each week determined on where they are. Last week they were in Arizona and his name was Diamondback. So, this week they are in New York and his name is The Jet. Whatever, Spanky-Shannon Moore should be good as long as WWE gives them enough time, and American Dragon-Jamie Noble should involve alot of mat-wrestling and should also be really good. If they would've made Matt Hardy-Xavier instead of Chuck Palumbo this could've and maybe still can be the greatest Velocity ever.
Guest Choken One Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Just for Fun Looked at the next few weeks of Velocity Tapings just to see what Spanky may be... Tuesday 21st Albany New York Well, Ok...Not really a Team in Albany so I expect No Spanky this week. Tuesday 28th Green Bay The Packer! Tuesday 4th Philly The Eagle! Tuesday 11th Bakersfield No Clue. Tuesday, 18th Indy THE PACER!
Chunk Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Ok, so lets get this right. Spanky, the up and comer, the man billed as the next show stopper, gets a meaningless role on Velocity where he doesnt even keep the same name for more than a week. And Bill DeMott who is far passed his prime, and Albert who has proved time and time again that he can not make it in the big time, get unreal smackdown pushes. Yep! Sounds about right! Keep up the good work Vince. And while your at it, why worry about those Low-Ki and Chris Daniels chaps, that you gave trials to. Crash Holly and Chuck are just waiting in the wings for their next pushes. And we havent seen Mark Henry in a while, go on bring him back to Smackdown. After all, thats what the fans want to see. ChUnK!
Guest Muzz Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Chances of Noble/AmDrag getting 20 minutes would be slim, yeah...? Darn.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 First of all, would Bradshaw be jealous if he heard Spanky had been called "The Packer" up in Green Bay? Or would Pat Patterson. Yes I know tacky jokes abound from me I'm sorry I can't help myself. Well, looks like I've got an pretty cool Velocity to try to recap. Oughta be interesting to see if I can keep up. Of course then Dames (or whomever) has to like mine more than oh, 10 or 15 competitors .
Guest Vyce Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 I'd like both Low-Ki and Chris Daniels to safely stay in the NWA, thank you.
Chunk Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 I'd like both Low-Ki and Chris Daniels to safely stay in the NWA, thank you. As a wrestling fan, I would rather have both guys stay away from the WWE, and fork out the money to see them via tapes. However, they do deserve a shot at the big time pay packets. I know theres more to wrestling than the money, but guys like Ki, Daniels and Dragon bust there ass to scrap by, whilst Rikishi, Crash and Henry make a fortune. ChUnK!
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 The RAW 10th Anniversary Spectacular rocked The World this past Monday night. Um, last I checked, Raw X was on Tuesday. WWE can't even get the date of their 10 year special right and it happened four days ago!
Guest Coffey Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Ok, so lets get this right. Spanky, the up and comer, the man billed as the next show stopper, gets a meaningless role on Velocity where he doesnt even keep the same name for more than a week. And Bill DeMott who is far passed his prime, Bill DeMott is not passed his prime.
Yuna_Firerose Posted January 18, 2003 Report Posted January 18, 2003 Perhaps he isn't, but he is boring.
Chunk Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Ok, so lets get this right. Spanky, the up and comer, the man billed as the next show stopper, gets a meaningless role on Velocity where he doesnt even keep the same name for more than a week. And Bill DeMott who is far passed his prime, Bill DeMott is not passed his prime. Really? You dont think that 36 is too old to be getting your initial mid card push on Smackdown. Perhaps its just me then. ChUnK!

He's masked for now, so it could only be a trial gimmick before his real push starts. Let's hope it turns out to be more than what they gave Guido.
Guest tpww7 Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Here's to hoping Noble- Am Drag is given 10 mins. But that is highly unlikely.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 So is that guy in the white tights American Dragon?
Guest tpww7 Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Yep, it's him. And Josh Matthews actually knows some things.
Guest The Electrifyer Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Josh knows more things than most other WWE commentators do.
The Dames Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Actually, although he called him The American Dragon, he said he was trained by HBK, which he wasn't. Dames
Guest El Satanico Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 They must be doing the same thing with Spanky that they did with Shane Helms. Helms had like 4 name changes before one finally caught on. However I don't know why they didn't let him try Spanky first to see how that went over.
Guest El Satanico Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 It's like a fucking Indy Wrestler InVasion. You say that like it's a bad thing...why
Chunk Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Actually, although he called him The American Dragon, he said he was trained by HBK, which he wasn't. Dames He was trained at the Texas Wrestling Academy, that HBK used to own. He was trained by Rudy Boy Gonzalez though. Thats where the whole HBK thing comes from. It's like a fucking Indy Wrestler InVasion. You say that like it's a bad thing...why I agree, why? At least there is some hope for Spanky then. I thought that his HBK connection would get him somewhere. ChUnK!
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted January 19, 2003 Report Posted January 19, 2003 Darn. I missed this Velocity. I shall have to hunt it down on ABPW then, I guess. And I'm happy if guys get in, even if it means they get crap for a while. What we need is more Booker Ts and RVDs, and guys who are only over due to their crowd heat because Creative won't give them shit to work with. Keep giving them that heat, and they'll start being taken seriously. We're on the verge where there's just too many good guys for HHH and Taker to hold the whole company down. Angle & Benoit recently graduated to the World Title picture. There is still room to breathe, at least on SmackDown.
