Question about the Burning Hammer

In a discussion a while ago about which move was the most dangerous the Burning Hammer was being discussed, and I could've sworn that someone said that the move had only been done 3 or 4 times. Is this correct or am I misremembering? Also, about how often has the TD 91 been busted out?

I think he meant Kenta Kobashi himself has only done it three times. Unless I'm thinking of the wrong Towel Boy, and Kobashi did it to him twice.

Kobashi did it to Misawa to win the AJPW tag titles in Ocotber of 1999, I think the 2nd time was in a six man tag match, but don't quote me on that.

 

The last time was when he did it to beat Akiyama a the NOAH 12/23/00 PPV

TD 91 has actually approached bastardizing as a death move now. Misawa never really busted it out that often, but now, since puro is influencing a lot of the Indies, people use that as a finish, but people kick out. TD 91 when used by Misawa had a VERY small chance of a kick out...

See...indy guys watch these foreign tapes and see these moves like the Vertebreaker and the Tiger Driver 91 and the Dangerous Backdrop and all these other moves and they just go...OH MY GAWD!!! I'll be the most over guy if I use this as the finisher! In retrospect, while they look cool...they should also be aware that most of those moves are pulled out in only a last resort...
