Raven and Credible Released

Recommended Posts

Guest JMFabiano524
God I hate WWE! Raven is one of the most talented yet misused

wrestlers in the history of WWE. Great job Vince, releasing Raven yet keeping that piece of shit Jeff Hardy under contract and pushing Scott Steiner the biggest waste of money since Kevin Nash.

Way to fucking go!

:firing:

Yeah, let's keep Raven in a place where he is wasted, heaven forbid that he get a chance (even though it came about due to a release) to go somewhere else where he wouldn't have to worry about politics or crappy wrestling (a place like TNA, for example)

Yea- his disgusting look, his boring matches and stupid long winded promos are definetly not what WWE needs.

Yeah who needs a guy that got over huge every time he was given a chance?

Honestly, I could care less. Why is it that the internet fans think that WWE should push anybody to the moon just because they came from ECW? I swear the internet fans only seem to complain about the ECW guys not being pushed and being fired. They think that they have to be in the exact same spots like they were in ECW.

I just don't see why that has to be the case when there are a number of others on the huge WWE roster(both the primary and OVW rosters) fighting for a good spot on the card.

I hear people say well why didn't they fire so and so instead of this guy? Why are they being pushed? I'll bet they would be internet darlings if they came from ECW no matter how bad they are.

Now some of these guys from ECW are good(like Tajiri), but some are also overrated. People still bad mouth WWE for firing Jerry Lynn. Big deal! He has no charisma and he would've never got over. Who cares about what he does on some indies that draw a few hundred people. I'm not saying that smaller workers are bad but they still have to have the right charisma. People say Chris Benoit has no charisma but at least he has a bad a$$ aura. He's not like the Rock but he doesn't have to be. He has that tough guy charisma and he comes off as being legit. Lynn is just dull and boring. Honestly he looks a dork when he tries to act all tough.

Mike Awesome? He was always overrated to begin with. He wasn't even that over to begin with in ECW. PLus, I hear he was really stinking it up in the ring on the recent All Japan tour.

Justin Credible? He's like a bald headed version of X-pac. Thats all I have to say.

Raven? He's not getting any younger and hasn't really been good in the ring for long time. Plus, his gimmick is a stale as a lot of these current WWE characters that have been around since the peak of attitude.

People need to realize that there is not room for everybody, even if WWE had good writers and no backstage politicians. They have way too many wrestlers under contract. I'll bet there are more cuts on the way. Plus, WWE has to make cuts with every new signees. You cannot go overboard with the budget like WCW did. I think WWE could care less if these guys go to someplace like TNA. If they were really afraid of TNA they wouldn't cut talent on a regular basis. This is not a Turner owned WCW from 1997 that we're talking about here.

Whoa there Baxter. It's not internet fans in general. You'll find a lot of smarks, like myself, hate ECW and wonder the same thing you do "What is so special about these guys? Is it because I can go ECW! ECW! anytime they move!?" Somebody should go "WCW! WCW!" when Chuck Palumbo comes to the ring...that'd be funny. Yes I don't understand ECW mutants either. Most of these guys suck. Yes Tommy Dreamer is a good sympathetic face and loves the business......ah hell I'm starting to become a Dreamer fan lately. I can't hate on the guy anymore.

But guys like Raven, Credible, and the likes just suck ass. I don't get it.

Did he sleep with your mother or something? He might not be everyone's cup of tea I can understand that, but it really sounds as though you have some personal vendetta against him.

Disgusting look? What, that he's out of shape? Regal hardly personifies being in shape. Boring matches? Yeah Regal's got that one down too. Stupid long winded promos? I find them interesting. What I'm trying to point out is that he is no worse than the vast majority of the Raw roster, it simply comes down to who you know, when getting released.

He wasn't going to do anything useful in the WWE even if they let him book his own storylines. He's never had a great match without Benoit, and is pretty much liked based solely on a few promos in ECW. The character was stale, he can't work anymore, and the flock gimmick is dead.

oh lord this is the worst news I've heard since...well when they released saturn. Sure, he wasn't a fantastic worker, but he had a storyline that could have gone places. I just LIKE watching him. Fuck them.

Why is is that many of the same people who (rightly) abhor these nWo/Horseman/Corporation/DX comebacks want to see yet another version of the Flock which is basically the midcard version of the above stables.

From 1wrestling...

To follow up on yesterday's story, I heard Raven met with WWE Creative at last week's Raw and proposed a future storyline with the company.  That may have been why he debuted the new look that he had, though I don't have that confirmed.  Then, two days later, he was told he would be let go.

...let's not blame WWE too much here, we don't know the entire story as to why they let him go. Raven has in the past refused to do certain things, so, ya know.

Besides, as said before, Raven hasn't had anything to do in years, and I don't think he'd ever do anything in WWE, I never truly thought he would. He'd be much better off in TNA, look for him there soon, in a major program more than likely, one that will have him be over as hell.

Poor Raven...cut his hair and put on the Rikishi suit for nothing.

And after Justin joined the WWE he didn't even look like he was eating anymore, he just got tiny. Not even the Clique could save him.

The Kiq doesn't save their own. When one of them gets close to the edge their turn their back on them and let them take the fall.

Did Nash or HHH try to save Hall? Even after HHH was the only person supporting the NWO return in the beginning?

Did they stand up for X-Pac when his human sheild (Nash) went down with an injury and he could no longer get away with his crap?

Nope. Save yourself. Such stand up guys these Kliq members are.

Well, I'm sure Nash has used every bit of stroke he has for Hall...why else would he have gotten about fifty 2nd chances

He was given a lot of TV time at the beginning of 2001 with his hardcore title reign and during the invasion he got more TV time then a lot of alliance members did.

It sounded like Raven asked for his release as he didn't like his direction

Apparently, Raven did meet with the WWE creative team last week before RAW and proposed a storyline for himself. The storyline was written into the show and started that night and involved his new haircut and new look in general. Despite giving it the green light initially, Raven was informed two days later (Wednesday) that he was going to be released from his contract.

You like William Regal. Let that sink in for a moment and then re-read what you just said...

I already said something like that on page 1 in terms of setting myself up.

Regal does not cut long winded promos like Raven does. He normally does a nice good short toungelashings that get their point across.

I don't think Regal has a disgusting look either- he looks pretty fit to me.

I also don't find Regal's matches to be boring- I just enjoy his style of work.

Disgusting look? What, that he's out of shape? Regal hardly personifies being in shape. Boring matches? Yeah Regal's got that one down too. Stupid long winded promos? I find them interesting. Look above- that was already posted

So was this, and you've still yet to retort. Ahh, but what am I other than a delusional ECW mutant? Raven - push in the WWF? Sticking him on TV with a million losses/regains of a bullshit title certainly doesn't constitute that, although it does explain Regal & Storm's "tag team title push" as of late.

And yes, Raven is old and gasp - even boring sometimes. But guess what? So is fucking Ric Flair and everyone in the RAW main event. Give me a god damn break.

Raven will never show up in TNA, I never wanted a Flock reformation so much as I wanted to see more of the guys that would've been in a "new Flock" on TV and that the WWE isn't creative enough to think of any mode other than a rehash of old ideas that barely work on a nostalgia principle.

Well, I already miss RAW every week anyway so I can't boycott. Guess the best I can do is waste money on ECW DVDs, turn up the grunge, live ten years in the past, and slit my wrists to a gobbledygook nonsensical promo. I'm a Raven fan, so I'll be doing the world a favor, right?

Don't blame Vince, blame the barber! Raven was fired for his haircut!

If this was Raven from 96-2000, then I'd give a shit. As of now, I'm thinking about the Raven from last week's Raw... and I'm actually glad.

My that was already posted thing was not reffering to that.

That post got lost in the shuffle I guess but I will defend it-

I don't have a vendetta against Raven. It just seems like everyone loves him and I just don't see any appeal for him- so whenever there is a Raven thread I add in my two cents.

Disgusting look? What, that he's out of shape? Regal hardly personifies being in shape.

Yea but he doesn't look like a disgusting piece of goo like Raven does and he doesn't make me turn away from my tv in disgusted.

Boring matches? Yeah Regal's got that one down too.

I like Regal's styles and I was enjoying the tag team matches of the Commonwealth Connection during their winning streak.

Stupid long winded promos? I find them interesting. What I'm trying to point out is that he is no worse than the vast majority of the Raw roster, it simply comes down to who you know, when getting released.

There are people worse then Raven I will agree but he was deadwood and served no purpose on the roster. Plus- we don't know the offiical reason for his release yet.

You're absolutely right, they should get rid of Flair, Rosie, Jamal, Albert, and many other people as well! But if keeping one piece of crap employed justifies the employment of many other pieces of crap, why not just give out contract to anyone who asks, even if they suck?

It's one less person I don't want to see on TV. Hopefully Albert, Rosie and Jamal are next.

I'll admit, the Raven of last week's Raw disturbed me. But hey! It's not like they gave him a segment or anything, so all I can picture in my mind is some guy going out and jobbing to Jeff Hardy. Let me put it this way: I'm a casual fan, more or less. I hadn't seen Raven until mid 2001, and I didn't start liking him until his return in 2002. I loved his verbose promos, his poetic phrasing and whatnot. I didn't see him in The Flock. I didn't see him in ECW. All I know is the Raven I saw in WWE, and I thought he was GREAT. *Shrugs* But that's just me, and I haven't seen the Raven that other people worship for being so great in "E-C-Dub, E-C-Dub" or the leader of the Flock in WCW. Before my time, dude. Before my time.

That's what I'm trying to figure out. I just don't see the appeal in Raven. He gives boring promos that mean nothing, his ring work is terrible on the level of the hosses, and for all the fans of him...he wasn't doing anything and he wasn't going anywhere.
