Guest Dmann2000 Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Okay I've made it my mission to attend Wrestlemania XX, which will probably be at MSG. And I was thinking to get in touch with any guys on here who'd want to go so we could all meet up. Then I started thinking even more. If enough people wanted to commit we could pool together and rent out a covention hall at a hotel and have a smark wrestling convention. We could bring tapes to trade sell etc. And if we really got ambitious I'd think about trying to book a local indy fed to have a few matches and try and get some legends to come for Q & A's/autographs. I mean if Trekkies can do it why can't we.
Guest buffybeast Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I've thought about this before. It would take careful planning and upfront money. WM 20 is going to be held in NYC which is a terribly expensive city. I think I would attend if something like this were held.
Guest bob_barron Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 I dont care what I have to do- I AM going to WMXX

Nice idea, but think about it, we're all abunch of smart mouth marks, getting us together is probably not the greatest of ideas. Unless you wanted to throw a pro wrestling convention, which would be open to all wrestling fans, then maybe. But a smart room only would be very bad.

Yeah, I'd probably want it to be a more all around pro wrestling convention, just thought I'd start getting the idea out here first a year + in advance. I'd just once like to see a Pro wrestling convention like they have for Star Trek/Comic books.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 <--- Will dress up like Damien Demento.
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 <---- Will dress up like Magnum Tokyo, complete with ring music and all.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 <--will dress up like ALEX WRIGHT
EL DANDY~! Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 If Curry dresses up as Magnum TOKYO, I shall bring the yen to stuff down his tights...
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 Hope you've got lots of yen kid, 'cause they some BIG TIGHTS....... Actually, that's too homoerotic for my liking. Dandy can be one of my backup dancers.
Guest Mik at Cornell Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 This thread has already made up my mind for me. If there was a convention I would stay as far away from it as possible...reputation to protect.
Guest Big Poppa Popick Posted January 27, 2003 Report Posted January 27, 2003 notes that we already tried this with the gathering notes failure goes back home
Guest The Old Me Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 This whole idea sounds like an accident waiting to happen.
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Well, there's only one person on this board I'd trust with my money and he happens to be my best friend who lives only 2 minutes away from me. If I was in town for Mania I'd drop by if I knew where it was but I'd never go out of my way for it.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Since I'm in NY (I Dont Live In Cali...) I'd stop by, AND ANGLESLAM AS THROUGH A TABLE~~~!~~@!@`@!~! Oh, and I'm going to WM XX at MSG
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Im wondering how all of you plan to go to WMXX at MSG...Vince has a smallish amount of seats to sell (which he knows WILL sell) so Im figuring ticket prices will be 800-1250 ringside instead of the 400-500 this year. Just imagine what the "Cheap" seats will cost.. Oh, and watch when Vince announces that WMXX will be in (Insert Big Stadium/Dome here). I predict mass rioting..
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 It would be fun to have all the nerdish smarks gasp in awe when a group of Team 2000 Posers come in and start raiding the place with their hand signals and heelish tactics. And then the horsemen poser group will get all angry and then a face-to-face happens and it's a west-side story all over again in NYC! ....HORSEMEN! *Prances and flashes the 4* ....T2000! *slyly moves around and makes the gun/2 hand sign.* And then the 2-Cool-4-School Puro Smarks will look on and say the workrate was lacking and would have been better had Kawada been in it .
Guest Dmann2000 Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 I fully prepared to pay whatever price those tickets go for...and I'm pretty sure the thing will stay in MSG, Vince likes the Garden.
Guest MillenniumMan831 Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Since I look the most like Lance Storm than any other wrestler, I may as well run with it. All rise . . .
Guest imajackoff? Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 My attendance is predicated upon two words: open bar.
LaParkaYourCar Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Man did ya'll have a get together for WMX7? That would have been the only time I would have been able to go because it was in Houston. I don't have the money to go to a convention of Smarks.
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 You might as well at least wait until later this year, when an arena is officially named and we may have a very different crowd from what we have here. *shrug* Although MSG is a good bet, Vince seems to be going to stadiums with WM time after time, and perhaps he'll go back to the Silverdome if business picks up this year. If it doesn't, MSG. EDIT: LaParka, heh I was sort of thinking the same thing. A smark convention the year AFTER I go. I wish we'd decide on a event that was a little more middle-of-the-country though, so (almost) all of us would have to suffer equally. I feel like I'm all alone in California here. I know Raw threads explode during the East Coast feed, but I always figured that was due to satelite TV. Do 90% of you guys really live on the east coast or something?

And as a side note, I live on the East coast but I watch the West Coast feed of RAW at midnight. That way I don't miss anything at 9 for it. Theres never anything good on at midight anyway..
Guest Jobber of the Week Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Hmm...Is the Silverdome still up? I thought it got torn down when they built Ford Field.. Someone better update the web site then.

Even some of the wrestlers feel that way, cause they damn sure aren't doing any WRESTLING these days.
Guest Dmann2000 Posted January 28, 2003 Report Posted January 28, 2003 Political Rallies, Religious Crusades: 90,000 Policial rallies? Hmmmm. Who says there's no politics in wrestling :-)
