Guest Mik at Cornell Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Aside from the Team Angle shit, which I hardly pay attention to anyways, it looks like a good show. There's something they forgot to mention in the Nunzio, Chuck, and Stamboli attack: Before the match can start Johnny Stamboli and Chuck Palumbo come down and attack Rikishi. People around me could barely tell who Palumbo was but surprisingly knew Stamboli. Nunzio kissed Rikishi on the mouth and slapped him before they left. [[from wrestling observer]] Let me be the first to say......EEEWWWWW!!!! Somebody's not Italian...or at least never even saw the Godfather.
Yuna_Firerose Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 I've seen previews of the Godfather....does that count? And I know Italians sometimes kiss each other in a non-gay way, but the point was that he kissed *Rikishi*. EDIT: If they're going for an Italian stable here, which I think they're doing...why feud with Rikishi? Nothing against the guy, but he's not really someone I'd care to watch on SD....he's a pure Velocity talent, imo. And, is Chuck Italian? I honestly never noticed. And if they go for this stable, we have yet another plot-hole since he's supposedly Knoble's cousin. But, hey, this is WWE.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Palumbo & Stamboli are Nunzio's "people"? Hmmm, I wonder who called that? (OK, I was wrong on Kanyon, but I got the other 2 correct)
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Velocity spoilers from 411.com, by way of 1wrestling.com Nathan Jones beat someone. Shannon Moore beat someone. Bill DeMott pounded Funaki. Billy Kidman beat Jamie Noble, with Nidia, to keep the Cruiserweight title in a good match. Hmm, Jones in a match on Velocity? I'm betting they won't show that, as I can't imagine they're building up Jones to debut him on Velocity. Shannon Moore gets a win? Must've been against an indy guy. And Knoble keeps jobbing
Yuna_Firerose Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 I wouldn't be surprised if we see Knoble debut on NWA within a few months....which is complete and utter bullshit. The guy is talented, his character was entertaining, but we can't have entertainment in WWE, now can we?
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 I wold be *SHOCKED* to see them let Knoble go. Nidia is the one that Steph has issues with, not Knoble.
Guest Rob Edwards Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Great to see Taker putting that talent over seriously whats the point of bringing guys in for Taker to squash less than a minute after their debut (ok I know this wasn't Kanyons debut but the point is there) I wonder how the mafia would have reacted to Billy and Chuck?

Rikishi's current character can be aggravating, but Rikishi has talent, IMO. He bumps ok and sells pretty good, and I've seen him pull off some nice moves when he's motivated.
Guest Rob Edwards Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 When was the last time he was motivated though? I'm struggling to think of a decent match he's been involved in since his early 2001 injury
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Nidia is stealing Molly's "bury me" gimmick. Beautiful. And I would also be shocked if they let Knoble go. However, I would not be shocked if he loses a Velocity feud to Funaki over who gets Smackdown backstage reporter duties. As for Brock/Angle well, if you're not quite sure what's going to happen next week, allow me to refer you to the last 2 months of WWE programming. ps - NWO- Angle makes Benoit tap...again. Brock will be backstage chasing Show and Heyman, Hass and Benjamin will beat up Edge. pps - Rikishi sucks.
Guest SP-1 Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 I'm not saying he's done well recently. I'm just saying the potential is certainly there to have good matches again. He entertained me, anyway.
Guest Lord of The Curry Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 ps - NWO- Angle makes Benoit tap...again. Brock will be backstage chasing Show and Heyman, Hass and Benjamin will beat up Edge. Why would Brock do that? Him vs Show is dead and buried. It ended at the Rumble.
Guest Ace309 Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 WOOHOO!!!!!! THEY HAVE A CRUISERWEIGHT TRYING TO MAKE WEIGHT!!!!! As a guy who's done this on numerous occasions for wrestling, let me say, I think this is great.

If you haven't seen the Godfather, then go watch the episode of the Simpsons where Bart becomes a bartender for Fat Tony. B) Palumbo sounds like an Italian name to me......... C) Nunzio can still be Knoble's cousin and have Italian friends, you know. That's not really a plot-hole. A plot-hole would be Nunzio and Knoble fighting and having Cole go on about how "these two have never been in the ring together!" or something to that effect.

Guest Eagan469 Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Backstage, Stephanie enters her office to find Kurt Angle. Angle gives her a rose. Stephanie wants to talk to Angle about a match. Angle says they are the perfect match. Angle goes to kiss her but Brock Lesnar walks in. well that angle's being dragged out of mothballs, eh?
Yuna_Firerose Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 C) Nunzio can still be Knoble's cousin and have Italian friends, you know. That's not really a plot-hole. A plot-hole would be Nunzio and Knoble fighting and having Cole go on about how "these two have never been in the ring together!" or something to that effect. What I meant by plot hole was that since Nunzio's debut, he and Knoble haven't really been associated together, save for maybe a few matches.
Guest Goodear Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Hey, are they booking Sean O'Haire as a face? Because I'm not sure from the spoilers if he stopped Bill DeMott and then let him go "Because he already knew that" or not.
Guest razazteca Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 well Palumbo is back in tag teams where he belongs, but I doubt that Johnny the Bull can carry the team to good matches.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 ps - NWO- Angle makes Benoit tap...again. Brock will be backstage chasing Show and Heyman, Hass and Benjamin will beat up Edge. Why would Brock do that? Him vs Show is dead and buried. It ended at the Rumble. Because if Brock is within 50 feet of the ring, Angle won't have the hold on long enough for anyone to tap. Maybe not necessarily running around after Show, but I just think that if Angle is beating someone clean in the middle of the ring, they'll make it painfully clear that Brock was otherwise occupied and Angle can't take him face to face.
Guest wwF1587 Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 sounds like an ok smackdown.. better than raw but thats not saying alot nowadays... team angle better start kicking the shit of brock soon... probably next week... stop complaining.. leave that to RAW
Guest KingOfOldSchool Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Back from commercial, Paul Heyman is shown in the ring with the crate and a mic in hand. Undertaker rides to the ring on his motorcycle. Heyman leaves the ring and walks up the ramp. Undertaker opens the door of the crate and it's Chris Kanyon signing "Do you really wanna hurt me". Kanyon attacks Undertaker and gets the better hand but that does not last long. Undertaker sends Kanyon out of the ring and continues his attack. Undertaker hits Kanyon with a chair. Undertaker throws his Big Evil shirt on Kanyon and leaves. Well, that makes me pretty angry. Nice to see Kanyon being used as a plot device for a crappy feud between two crappy wrestlers.
Guest Nanks Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 I can't believe people are complaining about Angle v Lesnar getting some long-term buildup. Surely this is what we want. Instead of just throwing together a match for no reason this feud is getting months of buildup. Angle started off getting the better of Lesnar mentally by siding with Heyman and making it harder for Lesnar to get his belt back. It's meant to go back and forth with one person dominating then the other making a comeback. This WM match will actually have some emotion behind it and will also have awesome wrestling. What is there possibly to complain about?? And of course Taker squashed Kanyon, Kanyon's not the one out looking for revenge. He has no pent up aggression to release, he's singing in a huge box for god's sake.

The face isn't supposed to get the upper hand that many times. It kills the feud.
Guest Brian Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 The thing is, out of two times (three if this makes the air), Brocks gotten the upper hand with some seven weeks in the feud.
LaParkaYourCar Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 They did take a break without even having Lesnar and Angle interract, but everytime they have I cannot think of one time Angle has come out on top
Guest Brian Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 But Angle only got killed that one time with the knee. The rest has been him letting his boys get hurt. And I'll be surprised if Brock gets any further than them, with the occasional beat by Team Angle as a whole. Cool thing is eventually, after Angle loses, Team Angle and Heyman will turn on him because of all the crap he put the through for the title he lost.
Guest Nanks Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Angle's been injured, bit hard for a man on crutches to go over a monster like Lesnar. Angle will get the better of him either next week or at NWO. His 3 on 1 advantage should see to that. Then I reckon we'll see some real brutality coupled with good wrestling between NWO and WM. WWE has been waiting to run this feud for too long to stuff it up. They'll have planned it ages ago.
Guest Anglesault Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 You know, I was REALLY starting to get excited about this feud a couple of weeks ago. This is UTTER, and TOTAL Bullshit. "Gee, Clem, the big guy beats up the little fella and his little fella friends every week! Who do ya'll s'pose will win at that there Wrestlemania?" And they have Angle starting the pussy ass bitch shit again! The thing is, out of two times (three if this makes the air), Brocks gotten the upper hand with some seven weeks in the feud. No, The "thing" is that this man can DESTROY three men AT WILL, AT THE SAME TIME. Not only that, but one is the WWF champ and the other two are the tag champs. If they are glorifed jobbers (No, actually, jobbers get SOME offense in. Has anyone in TA landed a punch?) to Brock, what does that say about the guys that team Angle can beat, some totally clean?
Guest Nanks Posted February 13, 2003 Report Posted February 13, 2003 Angle's "pussy ass bitch shit" is his mind games. Haven't you ever seen him develop that before?? He will get angry, he always does. Team Angle will go another direction after NWO. I can see Angle getting all fired up and telling them he wants to take care of Lesnar on his own. Don't give up on the feud before it really heats up. Lesnar hasn't actually got his hands on Angle yet except for the knee, and that had to happen because of Angle's real knee surgery. Have faith, this will get good
