Guest bob_barron Report post Posted February 23, 2003 SNL Review- Christopher Walken/Foo Fighters Sports Report- Devils- They’ve been in a slump recently after their awesome streak of winning. Hopefully they’ll wise up and give Brodeuer some rest so the Devils winning ways can continue. I’m seeing them on Tuesday in what should be a very hot game against the Rangers. It’ll be my first ever Devils game so hopefully they can kick some overpaid New York Ranger ass. Maple Leafs- GO LEAFS GO! It seems like the shit they played in October and November has faded into obscurity. I now look forward to Hockey Night in Canada as it’s a great joy seeing them beat some Montreal Canadian ass each week. They’re now in fourth place in the conference and I really hope they can catch up to Team Bankruptcy and take over in the Eastern Conference. Canucks- The boys by the bay are also still winning. The unbeaten streak is up to twelve games with their last loss coming January 24th. I mean January was so long ago that back then- people thought it was safe to go to a nightclub. They’re only two points behind Dallas for first place in the Western Conference. While benching Bertuzzi did seem like it could cause some controversy- apparently the whole situation has blown over with little to no problems. And that is why Marc Crawford is a terrific coach. And on that note- I’d like to congratulate Crawford on becoming the winningest coach in Vancouver Canucks history. Now just bring us a Cup and you’ll be a God among men. Nets- They’re still in a bit of a slump but K-Mart is still bringing the goodness and as long as he keeps bringing the said goodness the Nets will be alright. They need to make sure they can stay in first in the Eastern Conference and not let 40 year old senior citizens torch them for 43 points. I’m getting really concerned about Jason Kidd probably leaving us and in my next review I may go in depth on Jason Kidd and his role with the Nets. Mailbag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Phillip Dickey writes- What's with your deal for Norm McDonald? He's the biggest jackass/ douche bag that ever was on SNL and ever will be. He's untalented and well... you saw how long "Norm" was on the air... on ABC! You must be kidding me. He was not only the worst update anchor, he was an awful cast member. Signed. Dick Jackey I don’t know who this Norm McDonald character is that you refer to but I am a fan of Norm Macdonald. I could see why you made the mistake since Norm haters tend to be really, really dumb. Norm was a jackass- that’s what made him so funny. He wasn’t afraid to target anyone and everyone. I love Tina and all but she’s too cautious. Norm would go out there and make fun of the bombing of an abortion clinic and not think anything of it. Watching Norm on Update- you never know what he was going to do next. The guy also seemed to be one of those people who tried his hardest when the crowd wasn’t into him. And when Norm was on- He was ON. Also- it’s funny how you mock how long ‘Norm’ lasted on the air. The show lasted three seasons- including two seasons where it was very successful on the air. The show was a proven ratings draw when it aired at 9:30 after Drew Carey on Wednesdays. Sadly- ABC abandoned its TGIF lineup and thought Norm and Two Guys, a Girl, and a DVD were successful enough to carry its own night which everyone with a brain knew it wasn’t. I think if ABC had kept Norm in the 9:30 pm timeslot after Drew it would’ve been successful enough to survive when Drew Carey started losing its lustre. Also- the fact that you pointed out that it was on ABC adds absolutely nothing to your argument. In fact ABC was doing pretty well while Norm was on the air. I’d also thought you’d like to know that ABC’s worst year ever was the year after they cancelled Norm. Norm is the greatest Weekend Update anchor of all time and the greatest cast member of all time. Chad Ruffner writes- Hi Bob, Have you ever heard, or been a witness to, any drunk/and or unruly fans ever disrupting a live episode of SNL? I know SNL broadcasts on a delay, which Is probably why If It ever happened, we the people at home never saw It. I just thought In the 28 years the show has been on the air, someone possibly tried to take advantage of the live factor by making a "name" for them self. Just wondering. Later, Chad First I have to clear things up- SNL does NOT broadcast on a seven second delay. It has for two episodes- the Richard Pryor episode from 1975 and the Andrew Dice Clay episode from 1991 but for every other episode it’s perfectly live. I have never seen anyone disrupt the show in the audience to make a name for themselves. I asked Louis Klein, who is like Mr. SNL and has seen most of the shows live and he informed that there was misbehaving members of the audience during the Tim Robbins/Sinead O’Connor episode. (The episode where she ripped up a picture of the Pope) I guess I’ll give one story that kind of (well it doesn’t) meet your criteria- At the Hugh Jackman show as he began his monologue- a women yelled: AUSSI! AUSSI! AUSSI! Hugh then made a crack about Australians being drunk. I remember hearing that the women yelling it didn’t make it on the air so a lot of people didn’t understand Jackman’s line. So at least I cleared up some confusion. Wanna be in the mailbag????? Email me at [email protected] Hardball Cast- Christopher Walken, Darrell Hammond, Chris Parnell Thoughts- Okay SNL- you’re officially forgiven for the last two shows. I think this skit officially places Hardball in the upper echelon on SNL skits. I also like how they’ve been able to do Hardball without Paul Begalia and Al Sharpton- it shows skit diversity and makes me appreciate it that much more. This skit was absolutely perfect- I mean- it involved French mockery which is always a plus in my eyes. Walken was terrific here as I enjoyed his French accent, Parnell played his part very well and Darrell did what he does best. Sit back, make some smart ass remarks and let the skit go. I would again like to applaud Darrell Hammond for ‘finding his smile’ and once again becoming a terrific part of the show. Last year I thought he was a lost cause- what with his whining on Howard Stern and the Drew Barrymore show but I think his stint in rehab helped pull him together and I have nothing but good things to say about how he has elevated Hardball to perfection. This rating is for you Darrell. I still want you to leave the show but I’m glad unlike Ferrell did- you’re making your last year count. Just don’t fall back on the wagon. ***** Monologue Cast- Walken Thoughts- Wow- Christopher Walken singing. I’ve never seen that before. This is why they shouldn’t have wasted it on Garner last week because the appeal was lost here. Walken had a few funny lines there but on a whole this wasn’t up to his previous monologues. Still- good to hear him say crazy make em ups one more time. ** Pranksters Cast- Walken, Parnell, Chris Kattan, Maya Rudolph, Seth Meyers Thoughts- When this skit first started I was thinking: Can Seth drag a good skit out of Kattan? Thankfully Walken came on and totally MADE THIS SKIT. I love Seth and all but all he did here was just let Walken do his thing. I was laughing my ass off when Parnell got tire ironed. The sound effects just made the skit that much more awesome. Walken as a crazy psycho=laughs galore. Seth playing scared out of his mind straight man=laughs galore. This skit=star ratings galore. Great stuff here and I see some recurring character potential in this skit. ****1/2 The Continental Cast- Walken Thoughts- it’s always good to hear Phil Hartman’s voice on Saturday Night Live. The Continental as usual was pretty funny even though it wasn’t as good as the best Continental which was in the Walken/Agulera epiode. The skit dragged a little bit but other then that it was very funny. These skits have a basic formula that will net it in the ***-**** range and you know what I say- Aside from not messing with Texas you should not mess with success. *** Captain Cast- Walken, Meyers, Fred Armisen, Will Forte Thoughts- I must applaud SNL for once again giving the featured players some much needed exposure by putting most of them in a skit together. This skit had a couple laughs from Walken but nothing that big. You know what I mean? It was kind of funny but nothing that made me laugh really hard. Overall- Walken had some good stuff and it was cool seeing the featured players get some exposure. **1/2 African American Archives Cast- Tracy Morgan, Dean Edwards Thoughts- Damn- go Dean. After getting the shaft two weeks straight with his Michael Jackson impression- they gave him his Don Cheadle impression which was my favourite part of the Super Bowl Halftime Spectacular. I like how they didn’t try to drag this out- they gave you the punchline, let it sink in and then ended the skit before it got dragged down. Great stuff from Dean and Tracy and good to see Dean get some badly needed screen time. **** Colonel Angus Cast- Walken, Dratch, Parnell. Rudolph, Poehler, Richards Thoughts- Okay- I’ll admit it. I didn’t know what a cunnilingus was. Then I figured- hey- why not ask the one person who is guaranteed to know- the owner of fallonfey.com. So if the one thing keeping you from fallonfey.com was whether the owner knew what cunnilingus was- well you’re in luck- cause she does. Anywho- once I learned what a cunnilingus was I started to enjoy this skit. I guess the censor was on vacation or something. So yea- give credit to SNL for making good use of the great word known as ‘cunnilingus’. Son of a bitch- There goes my goal of making these reviews family motherfucking friendly. ***3/4 Weekend Update Cast- Steve Martin, Will Ferrell, Britney Spears, Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, Rudolph Thoughts- Whoa. Wow. This was one of the most surreal Weekend Updates I’ve ever seen. I mean- seriously- this was like Bizzarro Weekend Update. Normally it seems like the jokes have been great while the guests not named Seth Meyers would bring the skit down. Here- the jokes absolutely sucked for the most part but they sure did know how to salvage it. I’m also starting to get worried that Jimmy has given Tina some disease that has caused her to professionalism to dip. I mean- screwing up a joke is all right when you play it off and make it funny (see Macdonald, Norm) but once again she was laughing at the jokes and it is really starting to bother me and get under my skin. So when Jimmy tells a joke- bite the tongue. Bite the tongue. Maya Rudolph was really funny as Christina Agulera and had me laughing really hard. And then- Oh. My. God. STEVE MARTIN!!!!!!! I went crazy for Steve’s appearance as I thought he was extremely funny doing the ‘pointless’ cameo. And then- THEY BROUGHT BACK WILL FERRELL??????? That pissed me off big time as I was under the belief that they shouldn’t have brought Will back until the cast had established themselves without him. But then- BRITNEY SPEARS ON WEEKEND UPDATE??? What the hell is this??? While I was upset that they brought Will back- I thought they handled his return the best way possible. He didn’t overshadow the skit and wasn’t the centrepiece. Britney Spears was very funny and her interaction with Tina was great. So bottom line- Jokes-meh, the rest- HELL YEA! ****1/4 Foo Fighters Thoughts- I always enjoyed listening to these guys and their videos were pretty hilarious. SNL may’ve been a recent slump creatively but they have had some very good music in the past month. ***1/4 Lovers Cast- Ferrell, Walken, Dratch, Rudolph Thoughts- Why did this skit have to start the minute the Canucks game ended? THIS is why I didn’t want Will Ferrell back. A pointless cameo is okay I guess but he has no right taking away airtime from current cast members trying to make a name for themselves if he’s just going to do a horrible recurring character that has the exact same ending each time and is a complete waste of NBC airtime. If they were going to bring him back- why not do something ya’ know funny? Don’t waste his return on this crap. As funny as the bit with Britney Spears was- I really wish they hadn’t brought him back if all he was going to do was this garbage. Oh and ummm what happened to Ana Gasteyer? Did she go to a nightclub or become an astronaut or something? Because I haven’t heard anything from her. DUD Foo Fighters Thoughts- Darn- I have to start paying attention to the musical act because I missed JIM CARREY!!!!! I mean- they better rerun this puppy soon so I can get to see Jim Carrey cameo on SNL. I was going to give them **** but JIM CARREY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! playing with them gives them an extra star. This reminds me of when Will Ferrell played ‘Island in the Sun’ with Weezer but Jim Carrey cameoing on SNL is too cool for words. You know- considering they had Ferrell and Carrey back- what they should’ve done is do another Roxbury Guys like they did in the season finale of the 95-96 episode. I mean why waste Will’s return on a crappy recurring character when they could’ve done one of the greatest characters of all the time and brought down the house? It truly would’ve made this episode right there in the all time greats. **** Assclown AGAIN? Cast- Fallon, Walken, Fey, Rudolph, Poehler, Dratch, Armisen Thoughts- Fred Armisen is fast becoming one of my favourites on this show as his character here is absolutely gold and makes this skit worth watching. What doesn’t make this skit worth watching is the presence of a certain Mr. Assclown. But man- Armisen truly was great here and the only reason I wouldn’t mind this skit becoming a recurring character is because of Fred’s hilarious antics. But no more assclown please. *1/2 Bottom Line- Average skit was ***.1 making this the best episode of the season. There was really only one low-point as the show kept pumping out good skit after good skit and had some Holy Lord moments to go along with it- that just adds to the coolness of the show. Shows like this are why I have faith in SNL. They pumped out two bad shows but completely redeemed themselves here and hopefully they can use this show as a momentum booster and finish out the season on a very high note. Thumbs Up Note for Choken One: I should have my Classic SNL review up in a couple days.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted February 23, 2003 I was wondering if Will Ferrell would make an appearance on SNL, after he was on Conan last night. I wish he would of waited a few years and than come back to be the guest host.

Wow, that's my most hated SNL skit ever not named "Spartan Cheerleaders." Talk about a sketch that always ends up being the same stupid ghey shit every time. I fucking HATE the roxbury guys. I mean, it shouldn't be possible, yet I couldn't help but laugh. Norm's appeal was definitely the ability to go "that joke sucked". I wish Tina would be able to say that, espicially with that joke with the disturbing image of her with a penis. I'm not sure where you saw the Britney-Tina interaction. All I saw was Britney staring holes through the cue cards...
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted February 23, 2003 EDIT: Sorry, but I had to edit my Weekend Update score, for some reason the painfully untalented Maya Rudolph slipped my mind and I just remembered her very unfunny bit, had to knock it down 1/2* I was doing something else durring SNL...so I actually taped the damn thing so I could reply here. I missed the opening though. Pranksters Cast- Walken, Parnell, Chris Kattan, Maya Rudolph, Seth Meyers -Walken was great, but Seth Meyers is still not funny....Walken carried the rating, I laughed my ass off at his stuff, Seth kept it from being perfect, ya bastard!...**** The Continental Cast- Walken -Can't go wrong with the Continental, the idea of him having the Girls Gone Wild Doggystyle tape was good for a laugh, everything seemed funny, which hasn't happened on SNL in a long time...**** Captain Cast- Walken, Meyers, Fred Armisen, Will Forte -AGAIN Walken was the only funny one among the bunch. I know I'm childish, but jokes about gay stuff and cocaine use and canabolism always get a laugh out of me...*** African American Archives Cast- Tracy Morgan, Dean Edwards -Nothing special, funny enough, but it was short and only had one joke in it, nothing I'll remember tomorrow...*1/2 Colonel Angus Cast- Walken, Dratch, Parnell. Rudolph, Poehler, Richards -Just not a funny skit, common case of SNL taking one joke and running it to death, and Maya Rudolph trying to do a voice? Need I say more...1/2* Weekend Update Cast- Steve Martin, Will Ferrell, Britney Spears, Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, Rudolph -Sad when the funniest part is Steve Martin doing a run in and not saying anything. Ferrell could've been funnier, but it had a nice twist. The Fallon and Fey jokes were just average at best. Maya Rudolph? Still unfunny. Cameos get it the score ...**1/2 Foo Fighters -Can't go wrong with the Foo...*** Lovers Cast- Ferrell, Walken, Dratch, Rudolph -These skits have never once been funny...DUD Foo Fighters -Great performance of a great song...and when Jim stepped on stage I thought "who's this jackass?" He only made it cooler...****1/2 Assclown AGAIN? Cast- Fallon, Walken, Fey, Rudolph, Poehler, Dratch, Armisen -Were the girls walking in front of the stage suppose to be a joke? This was just unfunny. It's bad when the skit relys on how bad the jokes are...DUD Started out great...then took a shitdive. At least there wasn't any Sanz/Fallon skits. THERE IS NO JUSTICE IN THE WORLD when Morgan and Hammond don't get dick for tv time...yet Maya Rudolph seems to be all over the damn show.
Guest Mattdotcom Report post Posted February 23, 2003 All week, I was dreading/looking forward to this. I knew two things going in: SNL sucks as of late, and Christopher Walken is one of the greatest hosts, IMO. I actually watched SNL this week. I have only been checking in on it and relying on Barron's review. But no tonight. And, oh, how happy I was. Hardball is one of my favorite sketches. I mean, just one guy yelling and being mean is funny to me. Walken singing is always a favorite, just because he's so damned creepy and cool. Pranksters was perfect, and The Continental is one of my all-time favorites. I could go on and on, like the cameo by the Ric Flair of SNL, Steve Martin, making themost assanine appearance possible and becoming a highlight and then Will showing up (and NOT hyping his movie?), but I stopped watching after Update. Steve Martin=Ric Flaire because they both have white hair and he has hosted the show alot. I made that up.
Guest GeneMean Report post Posted February 23, 2003 I think he means when Britney tries to sympathize with Tina about always being hounded by the tabloids. So was everyone snowed into NYC last night or something with all the cameos? Steve Martin rules, I swear only he could get away with a cameo like that. Good stuff, Pranksters had me cracking up big time.
Guest Star Ocean 3 Report post Posted February 23, 2003 SNL is so sad.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted February 23, 2003 Damnit people- Don't all reply while I'm asleep. But here we go. AoO- While the premise of each Roxbury Guys was technically the same (guys+male host go clubbing) the fact is that they made each one different each time. The Pamela Lee one had them being forced to talk to each other. The Jim Carrey one showed them trying to have a good time and find a girl. The Helen Hunt one showed them going to therapy. The fact that each one was kinda different made them all work even though I will concede that the last one was not as good as others. Starvenger- I completely agree with you on Norm and Steve Martin. Tina once made a 'that joke sucked face'. It was during the Ellen DeGeneres/No Doubt episode. (I'll respond to you more indepth YNA) Mattdotcom- Thanks Mattdotcom- You're right about SNL sucking- I mean the last thumbs up episode was back in December with Al friggin Gore. I just didnt find Walken singing all that funny since they just did singing. But I do agree with you on your other SNL points. You didn't miss too much after WU except for Jim Carrey so I don't blame you for changing the channel. Steve Martin hasn't hosted the show 16 times so he's a bit behind Ric Flair but I think he is 'The Nature Boy' of SNL. GeneMean- Yep- that's what I meant. The cameos were probably for sweeps month or something- I have no idea. Plus Steve and Will both have movies coming out. Prankers did kick ass. StarOcean3- Care to elaborate. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted February 23, 2003 Pranksters Cast- Walken, Parnell, Chris Kattan, Maya Rudolph, Seth Meyers -Walken was great, but Seth Meyers is still not funny....Walken carried the rating, I laughed my ass off at his stuff, Seth kept it from being perfect, ya bastard!...**** Agreed on all counts on Walken- but what did Seth do wrong? He was very funny at the beginning and played the straight man very well. The Continental Cast- Walken -Can't go wrong with the Continental, the idea of him having the Girls Gone Wild Doggystyle tape was good for a laugh, everything seemed funny, which hasn't happened on SNL in a long time...**** I'm a Continental fan as well but I thought the skit dragged a little bit- but overall it was very funny. African American Archives Cast- Tracy Morgan, Dean Edwards -Nothing special, funny enough, but it was short and only had one joke in it, nothing I'll remember tomorrow...*1/2 It may've been short and only had a couple jokes but they were all very funny. It's one of this skits where you don't know what they're gonna do next and then it's revealed and it's really funny. Colonel Angus Cast- Walken, Dratch, Parnell. Rudolph, Poehler, Richards -Just not a funny skit, common case of SNL taking one joke and running it to death, and Maya Rudolph trying to do a voice? Need I say more...1/2* Once I got the joke I started laughing my ass off at some of the lines. I'm always a fan of those SNL skits where you keep thinking that someone is about to cut to a commercial in a second. Maya sucked as usual but all the jokes around Col. Angus worked here. On Weekend Update since you changed your rating- I don't like Maya Rudolph either but she did a good Christina Agulera impression and Jimmy translating her belting was pretty funny. I admit the jokes weren't that funny this week but they sure did know how to compensate for it. Steve's cameo was great- I nearly fell off my chair when I saw him. I thought with Will they were going to do what they did with Tim Meadows when he came back (come back and subtly plug a movie) but the Britney Spears thing was a great twist and it made sure Will's return didnt overshadow everything. The cameos carried Update so Tina sure knows how to have an off week. Lovers Cast- Ferrell, Walken, Dratch, Rudolph -These skits have never once been funny...DUD No disagreement here. Foo Fighters -Great performance of a great song...and when Jim stepped on stage I thought "who's this jackass?" He only made it cooler...****1/2 I can't believe I didn't pay attention and missed Jim Carrey. They better rerun this episode like tomorrow. Assclown AGAIN? Cast- Fallon, Walken, Fey, Rudolph, Poehler, Dratch, Armisen -Were the girls walking in front of the stage suppose to be a joke? This was just unfunny. It's bad when the skit relys on how bad the jokes are...DUD I don't really get the thing with the waitresses here but I think Fred is hilarious here as the drummer. I almost died when Walken was talking about how lonely he was and Fred did the 'ba-dum-dum' thing. To be fair- Darrell was in the cold opening and got to oversee a ***** skit IMO and Tracy was funny in his one skit. I know you like them YNA but they have to scale back their airtime and give it to the new guys. Tracy and Darrell are most likely leaving soon and it's best that the viewer get used to not seeing them on TV and starts getting used to the new guys like Seth and Fred. Now that he's motivated I do wish they would give Darrell a little bit more airtime but it's better to put Will and Fred out there in meaningless roles then use Darrell. TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2003 I didn't see all of it last night I must sya that Christopher Walked is one of the best guests ever. Only competition he gets is John Goodman and Steve Martin. This is only the third SNL i've liked this year along with the Gore one and the De Niro one. BTW anyone remember a skit in 1997 where two guys were imitating De Niro and Pesci and were beating ppl up with bats but then out ofn owhere the real De Niro & Pesci showed and beat down the imposters?
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted February 23, 2003 Only competition he gets is John Goodman and Steve Martin. I agree with you on Walken but I always found the John Goodman episodes to usually suck even though his last appearance was really funny. Him showing up 9000 times in the 98-99 season kinda killed him for me. anyone remember a skit in 1997 where two guys were imitating De Niro and Pesci and were beating ppl up with bats but then out ofn owhere the real De Niro & Pesci showed and beat down the imposters? You're thinking of the April 12th Rob Lowe/Spice Girls show. The two guys imitating them were Jim Breuer as Joe Pesci and Colin Quinn as Robert DeNiro. Rob Lowe did an impression of Eric Roberts. Alec Baldwin was supposed to play DeNiro but didn't for whatever reason. DeNiro and Pesci doing the beatdown was hilarious. They did 'The Joe Pesci' show one more time after that- in the Rudy Guliani/Sara Maclachlan episode. (Although Joe did show up in the Sylvester Stallone/Jamiraquai episode but it wasn't the Joe Pesci Show) That skit is one of my all time favourites and I would give it ***** without hesitation
Guest razazteca Report post Posted February 23, 2003 On the Colonel Angus skit was his first name Amil or Abel? If you had no idea what cunnilingus or analilingus is than all you had to do was ask Dames as I am sure he has done both! The weeks show was ok but not as great as everyone declares as the best of the season, as I think this one and the Matt "I'm Dazed and Confused" McConnaney show are about the same as both guest host were stuck doing the same character in every skit. Matt = stoner and Walken = crazy. What saved the show to me was the cameo apperance by Steve Martin, Brittney Spears, Will Ferrel and Jim Carrey. And the band was one that I actually enjoyed in the Foo Fighters, as I usually change the channel during the music segments.
Guest Ram Report post Posted February 23, 2003 Tina really sucked last night. Jimmy surprisingly held his cool even when Tina was trying to make him laugh. I guess he's feeling the reprecussions of doing it almost every other episode. I thought the show was great last night overall. Foo Fighter's kick ass, and everything but Lovers had something hilarious. The Pranksters just rules it all though.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted February 23, 2003 I completely agree with you on Tina- she had an extremely off night. I'm glad Jimmy is starting to keep his cool on the air. Plus whenver someone spoofs eric roberts it's gold. I don't why but I've aslways found Goodman hilarious especially in the mid-90's. But Goodman is right up there with Baldwin(I think) for mot times a host. I forget who holds the record.
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted February 23, 2003 I still quote Rob Lowe saying 'Robert FREAKING DeNiro'. I actually knew DeNiro and Pesci were going to show up but it was still an incredible 'holy shit' moment. Steve Martin holds the record for most times hosting at 13. cawthon777 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2003 The Continental Cast- Walken -Can't go wrong with the Continental, the idea of him having the Girls Gone Wild Doggystyle tape was good for a laugh, everything seemed funny, which hasn't happened on SNL in a long time...**** AHHHHHHHH! I missed that????? DAMN IT!!!! Was watching Confidential and the Perfect tribute.

TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2003 Yah I knew Goodman was up there and I suspected Martin was first. I did not however fathom that Tom Hanks has had 7 times. I must have missed 3 or 4 of those.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2003 I did not however fathom that Tom Hanks has had 7 times. I must have missed 3 or 4 of those. He hosted for the 5th time back in 89, I believe (probably promoting 'Big'). I remember they had a skit inducting Hanks into the 5-timers club and all the other 5-timers were there as well (Paul Simon, ...the guy from the M.A.S.H movie and Ross & Monica's dad on Friends ... forgot his name, a few others). It's notable because Conan O'Brien played the butler and Ralph Nader tried to get in but wasn't allowed.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted February 23, 2003 The man you are forgetting Cawthon is Elliot Gould, who I believe hosted about once year during the orginal cast days. He was great in the Ocean's 11 remake.
