Guest The Electrifyer Report post Posted March 29, 2003 Wow... I checked out NBA.com for a second and Kobe Bryant has 42 points at halftime in the Wizards @ Lakers game? Anyone watching the game right now? Whats it like so far?
Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted March 29, 2003 I saw last night's game on NBA League Pass and it was insane. Kobe scored 23 points in a row in the second quarter. After his first half 42 he only made one shot in the second half out of I think 10, but still had 13 points because he made 10 free throws. It was one of the best performances of the last several years.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 29, 2003 So is Kobe back in the MVP race with that breakout performance, he had NINE 3-pointers!
Guest Spicy McHaggis Report post Posted March 29, 2003 Unbelievable!
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted March 31, 2003 Kobe's not an MVP caliber player. He's 4th or 5th on the candidate list at best! The man is highly overrated! Nice performance against the lowly Sonics last night. An MVP not only has the stats but he is also able to elevate his team and the players around him. He ain't even better than T-Mac who has half his eyes closed when he plays.
Bored 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2003 Kobe is great and is not overrated, although I think he is over hyped when he doesn't need to be, but when your team is in SEVENTH PLACE you don't deserver to win MVP.

Guest Lethargic Report post Posted April 1, 2003 when your team is in SEVENTH PLACE you don't deserver to win MVP Well said. End of Kobe being MVP discussion. Magic is in 7th place as well. Guess that eliminates him too then?
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted April 1, 2003 Magic is in 7th place as well. Guess that eliminates him too then? Well, YEAH. The only true candidates are KC and Duncan. T-Mac would still be in front of Kobe in terms of candidates because he has done more for his team and he has had less to work with than Kobe.
Guest GameCop Report post Posted April 5, 2003 The Lakers are AMAZING. First they beat the Dallas Mavericks, and today they beat the Grizzlies after being down 23 points in the fourth quarter. Kobe made the game winning shot, if you're wondering. The Lakers WILL WIN their 4th championship in a row, because they own the NBA. HIP HOOP HOORAY!!! And I wouldn't brag about that Grizzley victory. Sure the comeback was a nice one, but it was the Grizzlies, not exactly the creame of the NBa by no means. I am eager to see the game against the Kings this week, should be a great game.

It doesn't matter what place you're at in the conference. MVP is the most valuable player to his team. It should be for the one player that if you remove him from his team, the team would be destroyed. You take Kobe off the Lakers and the Lakers are still a 6, 7, 8 seed in the playoffs just like they were before he got there. Take McGrady off the Magic and you've got the worst team in the entire league.
Agent_Bond34 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2003 Take McGrady off the Magic and you've got the worst team in the entire league. I wish that would happen, just so McGrady could end up playing for a better franchise and so that the Magic would become one of the worst teams in the league. Guest Lethargic Report post Posted April 7, 2003 If you hate the Magic I don't think it could get any worse for them. To me, it's a LOT worse to be mediocre than to be the worst team in the league. At least coming in last you can have hopes of hitting the jackpot in the lottery. But year after year of being the 7th or 8th seed and getting knocked out of the playoffs in the first round never gets you anywhere.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 7, 2003 The Magic need to get rid of Grant Hill to get any where in the playoffs.
Guest Spicy McHaggis Report post Posted April 11, 2003 I think it's safe to say that the Lakeshow is on a roll. Handily beating the Mavs and Kings. 1/2 game behind Portland for 1st round homecourt... Looks like another strong playoff run is coming. They're already in Sac's head.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 11, 2003 Good news is that the Spurs are in 1st and do not have to worry about playing Lakers in the 1st round.
Guest Space_Cowboy Report post Posted April 12, 2003 Damn Lakers, they just have to start winning so there's a good chance they'll end up facing Portland in the first round of the playoffs again. The sight of the Blazers shitting their pants at the sight of the purple and yellow jerseys opposing them every postseason gets tired after a while, i want to support the Trailblazers as they choke against someone else for a change.
