I think we're all missing the most offensive part.

3 Minute Warning wrestled. For 25 minutes.

They tried to do incest with Ken Shamrock and his "sister" Ryan.

He vetoed it.

Funny how ironic that is, considering we've heard that he did start banging her in real life later on.

Isn't that against the Geneva Convention or something?

At least that left people plenty of time to piss or get snacks.

I'd suppose that was mostly restholds.

OK, regarding the Stephanie dating a wrestler thing:

Landsberg: Vince loves to take the angles from real life, he likes to take reality and put it on TV. (Clip from Raw of Stephanie attending to Test in the ring) Can we draw conclusions about your lives and who you are from what we see on the screen? Mainly you, Stephanie McMahon. Is there something here that Vince just doesn't want you to date a wrestler, for instance.

Stephanie: Well, if you're asking if I would ever date a wrestler, certainly I would, however, it wouldn't be good business for me to get romantically involved with anyone in any aspect of our business.

As far as Shane being adopted:

Landsberg: Shane McMahon, Stephanie McMahon. Children of Vince and Linda McMahon of the World Wrestling Federation. You now, both, have an on camera persona-

Shane: (Interrupting) I'm adopted.

Landsberg: You're adopted?

Shane: So it's really... (motions towards Stephanie, who is sitting to his right) So it's really... biological.

Stephanie: (almost whispering) Shane, you don't need to go there.

Shane: I figure, why not, this is off the record, I might as well let it out.

Stephanie: OK, it's your perogative.

So, yeah, they don't talk about Shane being adopted for the rest of the show, and Stephanie seems to have this smile on her face when Shane brings it up at first, so it may just be Shane BSing, I'm not sure.

WWE did incest before. Anyone remember Beaver Cleavage?

Yeah, but that was just hinted at and was killed shortly when he became Chaz and his "mom" was revealed to be played by his girlfriend.

Since kayfabe in that case was broken so much, it kinda negates that.

That's one thing that pisses me off about the business today... everyone always talks about how everyone knows it's a work and how belts are just props.

Jim Cornette put it best when he said that the wrestlers know it's a work and the crowd knows its a work but they pretend like it's a shoot until they're given evidence to the contrary. That being said, it becomes hard to keep a suspension of disbelief when companies do stupid shit like have David Arquette win the world title or one of the head writers beat a woman for the Cruiser belt.

While they don't need to go back to the days of total kayfabe, they DO need to write as if kayfabe were in effect because today's style makes them lazy enough to say "Well, we can just do whatever we want with no rhyme and reason and people will still buy into it."

Eh, I liked the Chaz character a lot more than Beaver Cleavage. I thought the angle was well done. That is, before the whole Marianna/black-eye thing.

After the necrophilia bullshit I thought that there was no way that the WWE could do anything as offensive and tasteless ever again. Once again Vince and Co have proven me wrong. Way to go guys.

I really doubt "Vince and Co." (I am questioning your labeling acumen!) script Earl Hebner house show lines. He probably did that because he assumed the point of Long and Mack is to show us black people suck ass. Wrong call, moron Earl.

They've yet to do pedophilia, incest, an on-air WWE character...well, human...getting murdered, and I think there are a few fetishes that they haven't touched yet.  They'll try to top this.

They did incest with Mark Henry in one of his therapist segments, but they never went anywhere with it.

AS, remember when you mocked Randy Orton when it was revealed he would have lifelong foot problems?

"Instant karma's gonna get ya."

Only a cocksucker would say that. But they would've had to be serious and Randy couldn't have, like, backhanded their mother in the face and then backhanded them in the ouijas.

And if it was instant karma, he should have foot problems. But I don't know.

Shane could have been adopted, even though he looks like Vince. Muhammed Ali has an adopted son (he's probably about 13 or 14 now) and he looks EXACTLY like Ali. It's weird.

And they DID do an on-air murder: Dawn Marie killed Al Wilson. They've also done several attempted murders: Stone Cold and HHH, Rikishi and Stone Cold, Undertaker and Stone Cold, Pillman and ... why the hell do they all involve Stone Cold?

Finally, the do have pedophilia: Jerry Lawler. I still remember when he first came back after the Invasion, Stacy Keibler came out and JR said something about her being 22 or 23 years old. To which Lawler replied, "Too old for me."

I know it's not WWE, but didn't Goldust (Dustin Runnels) have a character in WCW that was a pedophile?

It's just not Earl at a house show, racism is becoming a prominent part of Raw and who knows how offensive it will get by the end of the angle. And sorry about the "labelling acumen".

The most worrying part of this angle is how far they will actually go with it. My point is if they can do necrophilia they are capable of doing anything, and I have a bad feeling that this whole racism angle is going to get a lot more tasteless, offensive and just downright shit.

I know it's not WWE, but didn't Goldust (Dustin Runnels) have a character in WCW that was a pedophile?

The character you're referring to was Seven, which was portrayed by Dustin upon his arrival in WCW after leaving the WWF. But as soon as Seven "flew" into the ring for his first full promo, it was dropped right then and there, with the reasoning that the character was crap which Russo shoved onto Dustin (actually though, I read that this was Dusty's creation, if you weeel).

Some of this (or all... I don't remember) was recounted by weirdworldofwrestling.com when it was still around. I tried searching for the page in question, but couldn't find it. So here goes...

While Seven WAS portrayed as looking through children's windows in a few creepy vignettes, this seemed to be more of Sandman type of spin, rather than a sexual thing. But the story goes deeper than that.

Seven basically looked an awful lot like the main character in the 1995 movie Powder. Anyway, the director of this movie had, in fact, molested a boy and served time for it a few years back, before ever working on the movie; and it's been said that the movie and main character in question was an allegory for homosexuality and the director himself. Disney recieved a huge black eye over this, the movie bombed, and years later it lead to people thinking that Seven was intended to be a pedophile and homosexual.

Well the WWF (E)..has proven lots of people right again on how tacky & tasteless it can be..no wonder it's considered a joke in the mainstream press....

Those dumb ass writers have nothing else better 2 do..but promote this racial mess.. & they r suffering from brain rot.. Earl Hebner needs to go back to his day job..& go back 2 being mute

I really think they have always failed to see people like Booker..D-lo..and even K-kwick..etc.. as performers..like the rest...and write 4 them based on that..the writers just cannot get past their skin color..& always wind up writing "Black"..4 them..sad..

K-kwick got a 2nd chance in TNA..& I hope D-lo gets used more there 2.....

Considering how over the top the WW(F) E..has gone with tasteless angles..necrophilia..Nichole Bass..they will probably go all out with this one...

I won't b surprised if i see HHH & Flair try to do a mock hanging on Booker T..i really think they would go that far..this is the WWF (e) after all....where almost anything goes..

Speaking of Dustin Runnels, what's up with him only 'fitting' when he's in control of a match. Coincidence or what! Lol, I thought these 'fits' were random.

Oh, and Seven will probably make a return if this new Goldust doesn't get over enough...they won't say it's Dustin as Seven of course...that'd just be stupid.

After the match, Earl Hebner comes to the ring to "You Screwed Bret" chants. Yes, even Lincoln, Nebraska still remembers Montreal. Long gets on the mic and feeds off the chant by saying Hebner shouldn't be there because he was the man who screwed Bret Hart. Hebner gets on the mic and says "If you ain't white, you ain't right." to Long, which actually kind of shocked the whole crowd. Didn't know Hebner was racist.

Maybe it was Dave... which Hebner's the evil one?

It's funny that you include D'Lo on the list of wrestlers written off as "black", since he's whiter than the Rock, Maven and others who aren't used that way.

That's it, the line of the day.

INTERESTING NOTE, RE: HHH RACISM ANGLE:

In early 1998, I was finishing up the sixth grade. South Park was huge, wrestling was gaining more and more steam, and drawing real wrestlers as South Park characters was common. I drew a picture of Cartman in the KKK outfit, put "DX" on the front of the hood, and called it "Triple K."

Behold, I am Nostradamus...

It's not only black wrestlers being portrayed as a stereotype though. Just ask Latino Heat. If you've ever heard eddie speak in his normal voice you'll know what i mean.

Thr sad fact i that the vast majority of wrestlers vince pushes are WASPs, regardless of ability, while the lower and mid-cards have a higher proportion of minorities.

Feel free to correct me :P

The Rock...

Big Show and Albert are both Jewish.

He gave Mark Henry a big push at first.

D'Lo was a Euro-continental champion and very over--but the Droz incident killed his career.

I believe both Steiner and Lesnar have Teuten roots, although, yes, they are very much white.

You know they'll do a Steph and Shane incest gimmick eventually. But I don't see how they could pull off pedophillia.

Let HHH and Flair join NAMBLA .Wooooooooo.

Death Angel..It remains to b seen if Maven will b used that way..but maybe u meant d'lo being whiter than the rest because of the way he talks or his color..

Rock was used like that briefly with the Nation..but he was able to escape it in a way..because he is of mixed heritage, and can seen as other than just black..which is what happened..but most of us know he is part black..

But the MO has never been proven wrong..and it applys to mostly every Black wrestler that has been through that company during the last 15 years...

When they 1st arrive..& when all else fails write "black"..Virgil...as the house boy/slave..K-kwick as the rapper..D-lo..complaning about "the man"..etc..No matter how talented they r..the writers must have always seen them through rose colored glasses..with their being black..

And the WWF (e)..does that with other minoritys 2..as a gimmick..which i wish they stop doing 2..Tajari as Regals houseboy..and Eddie as latino heat..which i found offensive..

Because fans started to actually bring signs..saying.."Eddie stole my hub caps"..Eddie is my gardner..tacky..tacky..that is a shame because Eddie can wrestle his ass off..

They r probably thinking..it's Eddie lets do something where he has a low rider..and Tajari..lets make him a houseboy..WTF....No wonder i don't admit i am a WWF (e)..fan in the real world..

Lots of wrestlers have been portrayed through sterotype..but i think the black sterotypes get more attention..

Because of their history with whites..in the U.S..which goes back a long way.. of being mistreated and having been refered to in not so nice terms..which still happens today..
