Guest Flyboy Report post Posted March 19, 2003 The thread/topic is quite simple. My vote goes to Richard Dawson. He was the man.

Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted March 20, 2003 Richard Dawson was clearly the best. Even in Running Man.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted March 20, 2003 I would say the guy that has had the most charisma and has hosted the most different types of shows is Wink Martindale. A lot of guys, like Richard Dawson and Monty Hall, were fantastic on their most notable show, but weren't too great when they hosted other programs. Their talents fit one specific program. I'd also mention in the conversation Bob Barker, Tom Kennedy, Gary Marshall, Gene Rayburn, Bill Cullen and Chuck Woolery.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted March 20, 2003 Bob Barker from the Price Is Right because he got to bang most of the girls on that show.
Guest RepoMan Report post Posted March 20, 2003 Got to go with Bob Barker. I would have gone with Alex Tribek if he didn't start to try to be funny.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted March 20, 2003 Barker's the mack, but I'm going with Bob Eubanks on this one...

Guest Flyboy Report post Posted March 20, 2003 I hated Gene Rayburn.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted March 20, 2003 I can't believe all the Marc Summers love here. He's smarmy and he hates being a game show host. Now, he hated being on Double Dare because he has OCD and can't stand to be dirty, but outside of that and coupled with it, he's not a people person and he has said he generally doesn't like the game show format. To go off of what flyboy just said, I do like Gene Rayburn. He was the perfect host for Match Game as he came off a little perverted and goofy and that was just what the show was going for. He also had great chemistry with the holy trio of Brett Sommers, Charles Nelsen Reilly and Richard Dawson. He's one of those guys I mentioned in my earlier post that doesn't really work on other shows, but he's perfect for his signature gig.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted March 20, 2003 I guess he wanted more money because he's doing WinTuition, now.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted March 20, 2003 Oh, yeah, I've heard him say that the only reason he does game shows in an interview was because it's one of the few gigs he can get. He hosts Unwrapped on Food Network too and that's more to his liking I would guess.
Guest Cavi Report post Posted March 20, 2003 Bob Barker, if simply for the pimp thin mic.

He got to bang a ton of models, the slick mic and his mad putting skills in "Hole in One... or Two" make him the consumate pro.

Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Let me also nominate the hosts of Wild & Crazy Kids (Omar Gooding, Annette Chavez, and Donnie Jeffcoat). Now that was a quality show.
