Guest Downhome Report post Posted March 20, 2003 Holy shit, Sheppard Smith just ripped that Saddam video to hell. Saying there were moments of disolves, giving us every reason it wasn't live or even filmed tonight, and a bunch of other stuff.
Guest Sandman9000 Report post Posted March 20, 2003 In all honestly, 2-1 Saddam wasn't even in Iraq when Bushy gave the ultimadium.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted March 20, 2003 There's a press conference with someone who sounds like a retarded James Earl Jones on translation duties (CNN.) Goddamn this is almost as funny as Saddamn's speech!
Guest iamsherm Report post Posted March 20, 2003 Do we even have confirmation that the Saddam video was live? Chris Bury on Nightline said they weren't sure if it was live, but that was a good half an hour ago.

Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted March 20, 2003 There are reports that Iraqi missiles have either landed around the Iraq/Kuwait and exploded or were shot down by Patriot missiles. U.S. troops in the area are putting on their chemical protection suits. I hope it's just missiles getting shot down and not chem warheads.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted March 20, 2003 I thought you were going to bed! I have a dentist appointment tomorrow. I'm too nervous to sleep! Actually, I just have my radio set to CNN and try to sleep.

Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted March 20, 2003 Reproters on Faux News are stopping to outfit themselves for gas attack. Finally. Oliver North can stop retelling War Stories and have his own goddamn War Story. Both reporters were freaking out. The guy who wasn't North was totally freaking. Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted March 20, 2003 MSNBC reporters are also gas masked as well. Apparently there's separate alarms for air raids and gas attack and the gas one went off.

Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted March 20, 2003 Patriots (PAC-3) have been fired, but who knows whether they're working. Even the government admitted that they have a high failure rate.

Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted March 20, 2003 Gas attack shit is starting up again. Sanjay and the marines in that encampment are putting their gas masks on once again. Also: Scuds are flying, and hey, the Patriot actually worked! EDIT: AP is confirming the Patriots are successfully working against the scuds, but why are we sitting here and getting fired on? Is someone going to wake up Boy George and get the go ahead to move forward? EDIT 2: That Sanjay guy is back. The Marines are saying an unidentified missile landed. Nobody killed, bio/chem/nuke teams are dispatched. EDIT 3: French PM Chirac is making a statement at a quarter past the hour. That might be entertaining assuming the media doesn't no-sell him. Guest Mad Dog Report post Posted March 20, 2003 Nice to know the Iraqis don't have scud..... oh wait guess the inspectors didn't do their jobs.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted March 20, 2003 I would be very surprised if the Patriots actually worked (we've heard that from the government before ), but I am very pessimistic when it comes to missile defense. CNN says there is no information about whether the PAC-3 actually intercepted their target. Edit: CNN says only one Patriot has been fired and it might have been a false alarm. Nice to know the Iraqis don't have scud..... oh wait guess the inspectors didn't do their jobs. These scuds are conventional and do not qualify for WMD unless they start exploding into gas clouds or something.

Guest DrTom Report post Posted March 20, 2003 A few things, since I was glued to the TV last night and am just coming into this thread now: The missiles launched at North Kuwait were reported to be Al-Samouds, not Scuds. Patriot missile shot down two of the four that were launched. No causalties were reported, but a Medivac helicopter was seen flying toward the Iraq/Kuwait border after one of the strikes. When Saddam's speech started, Iraqi TV cut out after his first two sentences. My roommate and I laughed like hyenas at that, thinking it'd be great if we just bombed his TV transmitters. The speech came back on, though, and then we started talking about how great it would be to see Saddam get filled full of hot lead on "live" TV. Before the speech was cover, we doubted that was Saddam making the speech, and we doubted it was live. Fox's translator didn't seem to be the sharpest knife in the drawer, either. I tend to doubt Saddam is already dead, but that would be a fucking great victory if he were. I doubt anyone would be angry about it, even those who have been vocal critics of the war. The chance to minimize casualties is always a good thing.
