Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 6, 2003 "To all those who want change, and are willing to do something to force change in the WWE" That's it. That's the mission statement.

Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 6, 2003 You also praised Evolution when all they did was talk and get injured....... For the short time that they were around, the ratings actually went up a bit. What, you mean in the same time period as when they were teasing Austin every week? What a coincidence!! Of course Austin had a lot to do with it, but to deny that Evolution wasn't at least getting over, and didn't have SOMETHING to do with the ratings is something I can not say. It was a solid angle, it was something that actually started having a foundation, something that I thought fans wanted to see.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 6, 2003 I'm still waiting for someone here to outline everything you wish to change and everything you wish to reach as a goal.

Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 6, 2003 You either want change or not. You either want to do something for change or not. It's pretty simple really.
Guest JDMattitudeV1 Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Seeing as I live in Australia, me boycotting the show will do nothing, but if those of you living in the USA want to try it good luck to you. I mean what harm can it do. If it fails what has been lost? If it succeeds then it could send a message to Vince that there are enough of us to make a difference. Vince doesn't care about the fans, look at the way he treated us down under. They came down here and Australia supported them, setting an attendance record for Colonial Stadium, making Global Warning one of the most successful overseas events ever. How does Vince repay us? By demanding that Foxtel (Australia’s Pay TV provider) pay a 400% increase for the rights to Smackdown and PPV's. Needless to sat we no longer have PPV's and Smackdown. Vince needs to get the message that he just can't keep treating fans like shit and expect them to remain fans.
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Of course Austin had a lot to do with it, but to deny that Evolution wasn't at least getting over, and didn't have SOMETHING to do with the ratings is something I can not say. Then don't say it, please, unless you have some sort of proof like segment numbers and the like. It was a solid angle, it was something that actually started having a foundation, something that I thought fans wanted to see. Do you mean that fans wanted to see HHH heading a stable or an angle with a solid foundation?
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 6, 2003 You either want change or not. You either want to do something for change or not. It's pretty simple really. So you see no purpose in stating a goal to present to people? Are you going to go to pure marks and say "hey, we want change"? You need an outline, of each and every thing you want to reach. It is a must for any project like this. You can not be vague, you need to be really specific. Do you even know what you want?
Guest Sakura Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Storylines that make sense. Push new stars that are actually over, not hosses they hand pick. That's enough for me to sign up.
Guest Sakura Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Well it seems the main goal that Brian is getting at is simply a message that "hey, we're here, we watch too". Then when they realize that we matter we can start asking for stuff.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 6, 2003 DH, this is the beginning. Things will evolve. Do you get this? This is the 'beginning'. It starts with this board. It grows. There is 1 month until the May 5th show, which as mentioned in the first post, is an important date for the WWE. This is time where things get sorted out, things get organized. I don't see why you can't get this - unless you simply don't want to get it. Because it seems like 95% of your posts are to stop this from happening.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 6, 2003 But to get people to join you, you really need to be specific about what goals you wish to reach. Is it to get Benoit more time? Is it to have HHH be put in his place? Is it simply for better storylines and the such? You guys may know all of this, but if you present it to someone else, it would really be usefull to be able to say everything you wish to accomplish.

I told you, I'm all for helping, but for projects such as this it needs to be organized. For people who just wonder into this post, it would be VERY HELPFULL to have listed what the exact goal is. Some people might not want to participate unless certain things are listed. Have you never put something like this together before? My point here is something which is very basic in projects such as this.
Guest creativename Report post Posted April 6, 2003 I don't think any of us meant it was soley the economy. We were just saying that it could be a factor. The economy is bad, people are loosing jobs, they are making less money, so they have to cut back on things like PPV's and the such.It may not be the biggest factor, but to deny that it isn't is a little blind also. Who's denying it? Of course the economy is a factor. But it's so minor as to be almost trivial. WWE business is down over 50% from it's peak--do you know how much the economy is down? ...it isn't. This is a recession, not a depression. Growth is very slow, but the economy is not shrinking (it almost never does). Lots of businesses are shrinking though, especially in tech and finance (unfortunately, those happen to be my precise fields ); entertainment, other than music, isn't shrinking though. Note that sports (NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB etc.) are experiencing pretty significant slowdowns--but they're still growing in gross terms. Very, very few businesses has experienced the dramatic downturns that WWE has, Enron aside. Remember, in the end it's all about content: provide the public with a good product, and they will come. There might be a lag of a few months (it used to be years, but the world moves much faster now), but eventually, profitability will catch up with customer satisfaction. Why did the movie industry do so well last year? Because of movies like Spider-Man, Attack of the Clones, LoTR, etc. (yeah, lots of people hated AOTC, but it still did fairly well, enough if poor for a Star Wars movie). Everyone knew in like 2000 that 2002 would be an awesome year, because of the kick-ass releases that were coming out. People also know that 2003 won't do nearly as well, because the releases aren't nearly as highly anticipated (Hulk, T3 and the Matrix aside).
Guest treble charged Report post Posted April 6, 2003 I think the May 5th show has potential to be good. It's the show from Halifax, so the crowd should be hot. Plus, I'm going to a house show the day before, so I'll be in 'wrestling mode'. So, in other words, I'm watching.
Guest JDMattitudeV1 Report post Posted April 6, 2003 The economy can be used to partly explain falling attendance and PPV buy-rates, but it can't explain poor ratings.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Baby Steps DH. I, right now, just want to see how many people *on this board* are interested. Once people have put their name in the hat, we can organize these people together. We can take a look at our resources and put together a game plan. Things like this don't happen (literally) over night. The goal is pretty clear for all those *on this board*. If you want change and are willing to do something for change then c'mon in. I'm simply trying to present this in a professional manner, because if you do not do that you will not go anywhere. I really don't understand why you are so against even telling me just for the hell of it everything you wish to do here. Not only would it be best for your cause to have everything wrote out right here and right now in order for EVERYONE to see, without having to guess what the purpose is, but it would also just make for good discussion. But if you wish to keep it to yourself, feel free. Like I said, I'm really begining to think you don't know what you want.

Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 6, 2003 I already gave you a link to show you. That has nothing to do with this project. I want either you, Brian, or anyone HERE to lay it out. We need to outline everything, hell, make papers to stick up somewhere or something for others to see, catch the eyes of other fans. How about this... ...just forget it, I'm tired of asking you. Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted April 6, 2003 2002 was the greatest years for video games ever. That's an industry that's entering it's boom. This one is leaving one. and just trust me when I tell you that it is NOT the economy. Entertainment industries are not highly correlated with economic swings; this has been shown over and over again In the history of this particular company, it's been a relation. When the economy was shit and we were at war last time, they were falling downhill. They STILL had most the talent and WCW was still pretty much southern yokels and early workrate fans at that point.
