Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Piper released this: "This is Roddy Piper. Well who'd of thought they'd ever see Rowdy Roddy Piper on WWF television again? Not many people that for sure, but thanks to Tom Pritchard, I'm back. The Internet is up in arms over me returning to the WWF. Certain others wrestlers who NEVER drew any money, plus punks who live vicariously through the wrestlers are calling me a hypocrite. I'm writing this editorial to address this. In fact, I can answer this question in one word, HELL NO. In my book In The Pit With Piper I said I was sick of sports entertainment, where promoters make all of their money by prostituting wrestlers and how disappointed I am wrestling is so focused on T&A. Yet, I turn up at WrestleMania, the show I created, the show I put on the map, and appeared alongside woman with huge t**s (Trish Stratus) and woman showing ass (Victoria). Did I let my fans down? No I didn't. Here is why: I can now have a say on the creative direction of the Smackdown product. I've already been invited to production meetings which will mean I'll get to hear the show before it is filmed, and remember, I'm fluent in bulls***, if I hear bulls*** I'll call it. I'm not like these 20 year old college boys who are scared of going against Vince, me and Jr. have gone at it in the past and I'm sure we'll go at it again. The kids in the company will have someone to come to for help and won't be able to be abused. Let's say that they want Josh Mathews to have a 350 pound Samoans ass in his face, well guess what? It isn't happening, at least whilst I'm there. You see, to be able to change the industry you have to be in the inside, be where the decisions are made, now Roddy Piper might be the original Outsider (before it was the cool thing to have on a T-shirt) now I'm working for Jr. again I get to help change the product. Piper's back and in a big way, I'll be wrestling alongside Hulk Hogan, Vince McMahon and Jimmy Hart in a tag team match on the next PPV. I've heard some people write that I haven't got another match in me after my car accident. Well let me tell you all something, I've always got another ass kicking in me for Hulk Hogan. I'm not a hypocrite, I'm actually doing something for this industry I love and that needs fixing. If you want to support my cause than get to one of the following shows I'm booked at to see Piper live. April 15 - Norfolk, Virginia - Smackdown Taping April 22 - Nashville, Tennessee - Smackdown Taping April 27 - Worcester, Massachusetts - Backlash PPV April 29 - Manchester, New Hampshire - Smackdown Taping May 6 - Halifax, Nova Scotia - Smackdown Taping May 13 - Baltimore, Maryland - Smackdown Taping May 20 - Greensboro, North Carolina - Smackdown Taping May 27 - Pensacola, Florida - Smackdown Taping - "Rowdy" Roddy Piper www.RowdyRoddyPiper.com - Home Of Piper Vision" A few things here: 1) I see Piper lasting no longer than 2 months if he refuses to be a yes man 2) That Backlash match will suck
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Well Piper WON'T be a yes man, i'm 99% sure of that so let's see how long his ideas keep him employed.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted April 6, 2003 1) I see Piper lasting no longer than 2 months if he refuses to be a yes man Not without some fan support. This reminds me of our May 5th thread last night about what can be done to make a difference. Piper's kinda crazy at times, but if he means what he says, it doesn't hurt. TheOriginalOrangeGoblin 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2003 The thing with Piper is he's pretty stubborn when it coems to his ideas to him and Vince(and Steph I guess) will clash. Although his ideas can't be much worse than bringing Sable back. Plus if it wash is idea to bring back Piper's Pit then it's all good. *Pictures a Piper's Pit with Matt V.1 and Piper ragging on Brock who can't think of a comeback*
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Hogan and Jimmy Hart vs Vince and Piper!?!? Who are the ad wizards who came up with that one?
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted April 6, 2003 I refuse to pay money for any show where Jimmy Hart is part of a sanctioned match. Even if HHH lied in the middle of the ring and let everyone on the Raw brand pin him clean, as well as a few people from the audience, I still wouldn't order it. Some things just should never happen. I know the WWE probably gets a lot of mail from fans that says "I want Hart back in the WWE" but I think they misinterpreted it.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Oh Lord Jesus. Why can't a sellout admit to being a sellout?
Guest Gary Busey Report post Posted April 6, 2003 He's not changing anything and he's just a hypocrite. I'm guessing he's pulling the "I'm part of creative now!" out of his ass to make himself seem less like the liar he is.
Guest The Tino Standard Report post Posted April 6, 2003 No way he lasts til June. No f'n way. "I can answer this question with one word, HELL NO." That just writes itself. And what exactly was the question in the first place, anyway? I DID find it funny that he kept referring to Vince as "Jr." That's an old school worker, right there. Guest JHawk Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Give it a chance before just dismissing it, everybody. We're getting the return of Piper's Pit out of the deal, and quite frankly, we know damn well Piper won't be a yes man. Vince still has final say, though, so I'll admit change isn't likely (and unless Piper's in on the Raw creative team, do we want that change?), but give it a chance before jumping to conclusions. Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 6, 2003 I love Rowdy Roddy Piper. He's now instantly, once again, one of my favorite current workers.
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted April 6, 2003 The jury is out on this. Piper listed SD events until the end of May? OK. I'll give him until then to see if SD has changed for the better. If it has, then great, I'll give him his props. If not, then, I join those that say that he's mostly full of hot air. Anyone else notice how Piper uses "WWF"? Not surprising - I remember him saying a few months ago how he hates the WWE name and will never use it.
MooreMark 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2003 I don't like the comments on the women. Even though they showed skin they did put on a great match. Opposed to the Miller Lite Girls nd Torrie who he didn't say shit about.
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Is it me, or does he have a real vendetta against Rikishi? If that Hosspush he has goes down the tubes, it may mean he's actually succeeding backstage.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 6, 2003 I Like It. He'll be gone by Badd Blood though...GET HIM ON RAW. I need Piper/Jericho!
Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted April 6, 2003 I bet Josh Matthews is really happy Yup. No more Josh Matthews, Jamie Noble, or Rey Mysterio being squashed by HOSSES. They'll be squashed by men north of 5 and 0 instead if you get my drift.

Guest Memoirs of an Invisible Chevy Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Vince should hire Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior. And pit Hogan, Savage, Warrior, and Piper in a shoot electric cage death match at WM 20. I'd pay to see that. They are all crazy.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Expect to see Josh Matthews vs Rikishi next week then... Seriously though, if it is Piper/Vince vs Hogan/Hart, I can see Vince making it Piper/Vince/Shane vs Hart/Hogan/Hogan's kid. It gets more like WCW everyday seemingly... Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Vince should hire Randy Savage and the Ultimate Warrior. Putting hire and Warrior in the same sentence ought to get you banned from these forums. Oh well. Still not as bad as bringing back Luger.

It looks exactly like something Piper would write. Whoever wrote this knows Piper DAMN well. Though what makes them think that it's not the second e-mail that's fake? Maybe it's a SWERVE~! (You know, I'm envisioning a back-and-forth battle between the two e-mail senders, each claiming the other is fake, as Scherer's head spins...that would rule)

Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Report post Posted April 6, 2003 JHawk, how does a Piper's Pit segment help the WWF? They're wasting money on someone who's time has come and gone. That's one of their problems right now, lack of NEW stars.
Guest Gary Busey Report post Posted April 6, 2003 JHawk, how does a Piper's Pit segment help the WWF? They're wasting money on someone who's time has come and gone. That's one of their problems right now, lack of NEW stars. Exactly! And I thought Piper hated Sports Entertainment-- that's all Piper's Pit is. Just because it was around a long time ago doesn't change the fact that it's taking time away from the ring and up-and-coming stars (and what a hypocrite Piper is). It's a shame Vince decided to steal the "weekly surprise worthless old star" instead of the X-Division from TNA.
