Also in the news post, WrestleMania XX is apparently on March 14th, which Scherer mentions is rather early even though a year ago no one cared that the show was on the 17th.

Not a bad idea with the NIT, but I don't think that plays on Sundays at all. Still, trying to balance the NIT, the Knicks and the Rangers, while still fitting in WM XX could definitely have been the reason for the early date.

 

Also, IIRC, with X8 on St. Patrick's Day, that was the earliest WM had ever been in a calendar year. This would obviously trump that.

I don't think they've made the schedules for next year yet. But I'm sure fitting in both teams and WM was a major hassle
