Yuna_Firerose Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Jeff Hardy was taken off houseshows last week and off television this week due to the WWE giving him time off to deal with personal issues. Hardy will return when those issues have been taken care of, and the WWE is supporting him fully through this time. [ Credit: Dave Scherer @ http://www.1wrestling.com ] About damn time, I say.
Guest El Satanico Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Hooray...he'll have time to make more terrible poetry. So how long until we see this headline concerning Jeffrey... "Former WWE star found dead in his home" and no I'm not joking. I fully believe that he's next.
Guest MissMattitude Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Isn't he always taking time off. I wonder what these 'personal issues' are.
Guest My Eyebrow is on fire Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Personal Issues = Losing that pesky baby fat around his bone marrow.
Guest Choken One Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 At First, I just figured these Personal Problems were just Family issues but then I noticed Matt never takes time off... I am strongly buying into the severe possibility these "Personal Problems" is Depression... I know of u like to make your unfunny, stupid Personal Problems=Drugs and Anal Sex with Bubba jokes But I think there is more to this...I think we all agree that the symptoms of Depression are Physically evident with Jeff Hardy... I still think Jeff has a lot of potential but this potential Depression is holding him back... Vince is usually good with this shit for the most part...I think he needs to suspend Jeff indefintily and check him into a Depression Rehabilitation clinic...
Guest bob_barron Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Good for both of them. I read the Hardyz book and it sounds like Jeff is really burned out and would like to concentrate on music for the time being. I'm glad they gave him some time off and hopefully when he comes back he'll be better then ever
Guest MissMattitude Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Yeah, I agree with Choken One. It does all seem to point to depression.
Guest oldschoolwrestling Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 To me he doesn't seem depressed. Burned out, maybe doped up on pain killers, but not depressed.
Guest MissMattitude Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Yeah, but how he acts in public and how he acts in private may be completely different.
Guest notJames Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 I feel bad about what Jeff might be going through, but as a fan, I'd rather see pushes go to guys who are into this business 110%. Jeff has stated in the past that his heart isn't totally with the wrestling business, yet he's been a solid fixture in the upper-middle card for a long time. Meanwhile, Matt is most assuredly a true wrestler's wrestler, semper fi, do or die, and yet has only recently tasted true midcard success. If Jeff's heart isn't in it, he should bow out for other guys to take their shot at the brass ring. He's had plenty of moments to be proud of, and has won pretty much every belt except the World Title, so there's not much left for him to accomplish. Whatever happens with him, I wish him good luck and thanks for the memories.
Yuna_Firerose Posted April 16, 2003 Author Report Posted April 16, 2003 Hopefully all the gay Jeff jokes will stop. Just because he's extremely creative doesn't mean he's gay. Whether it be depression or simply burned out, I hope he gets better. And with all the so-called "star power" on the Raw roster [Goldberg can make scary faces!! He's a star!!] they can probably give him quite a long time off.
Guest Choken One Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 We can't hardly ever tell who is really depressed... Did anyone look at The Starting Center for the Oakland Raiders and think "Man, He looks like a depressed Person" No. So, WE can't say if Jeff is or isn't suffering Depression. A lot of people don't seem to understand Depression, They get the impression that it's Lonely people feeling suicidal... It isn't...It's a Chemical imbalance of the brain...Sometimes Natural and sometime created by some sort of Truama... It was funny for a while when we made the Drug and Gay Jokes but now that it appears serious.... I think it's best we say respectful of Jeff Hardy because he might be going through something that very few of us ever have gone through... I really hope that he can get the right treatment because he means a lot to a lot people and It would be a sad ending to a man whom showed alot of promise...

Guest Polish_Rifle Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 If he loves making music so much, how come he hasn't developed/written a new theme for himself or anyone else for that matter? I think he could definitely use the break and its not like he's going to go anywhere on Raw with the HBK/HHH/Nash show.
Guest The Upright Man Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 (edited) I don't think the gay jokes come from him being creative. Edited June 27, 2003 by The Upright Man
Yuna_Firerose Posted April 16, 2003 Author Report Posted April 16, 2003 If he loves making music so much, how come he hasn't developed/written a new theme for himself or anyone else for that matter? Probably too worn out. Taking the dynamic bumps he does with his small frame is simply insane.

Music is more of an Emotional Release for him not really a Profit inducing type of deal...
Rendclaw Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 I heard an interview with both Hardyz on Between The Ropes last week, and while Matt sounds happy with the direction he is going on, Jeff *at the very least* sounds burned out. The last time I saw Jeff really into what he was doing as when he was getting that push after getting his ass kicked by Taker... after that something in him changed and he got increasingly sloppy as time went on. I know what its like do deal with depression, both internally and with others. Its a nasty, nasty thing to go through, either way. I hope he figures out what is best for him, whether its to stay in wrestling or to do with his other interests.
Guest El Satanico Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Taking the dynamic bumps he does dynamic bumps...hmm that's not a wording you see often... eh, Don't ask me why that stood out to me...or why I remarked on it. Call Jeffrey creative if you want, but I hope that you'd never confuse his being creative with having talent. The poetry of his is some awful, awful shite and I'd hate to imagine the songs he's written.
Guest Coffey Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 How can any straight man be depressed when he gets to work a program with Trish that includes acting like you're a couple and kissing?
Guest MissMattitude Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 How can any straight man be depressed when he gets to work a program with Trish that includes acting like you're a couple and kissing? That is ignorance at it's best. As someone before me has said, Depression usually happens because of a chemical inbalance. Depression doesn't just happen if something bad happens.
Bored Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Good god lighten up people. Boo hoo everyone has problems.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Thank God...maybe give Tommy Dreamer a little tv time.
Mecha Mummy Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 What, so Jeff and Trish WON'T be the "Young Hip Couple Everyone Wants To See"*? Awww, man, that's a PITY.. * - Jeff said something like that in his Between The Ropes interview.
Guest Trivia247 Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 oye Guess that hairdye slash facepaint shit has soaken into his Brain and needs time out to wash it away.
Guest AndrewTS Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Hopefully all the gay Jeff jokes will stop. Just because he's extremely creative doesn't mean he's gay. If he's so creative why is his gimmick so shitty and stale but he hasn't changed at all? Matt's more creative than Jeff, sorry. Even writing-wise what I've seen. Mind Xpanding Substance Use does not = "creativity." As for what "personal issues" are...fuck, that's a guessing game with about 20 probable answers.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 16, 2003 Report Posted April 16, 2003 Hey, Jeff has his Imagi-Nation. He and Barney and Baby Bop show kids what happens when you do drugs. Among other things, you hallucinate a big ass purple dinosaur. But that's a rant for another day.

Who the hell are you to come in here an insult me for trying to make a joke? Who gives a shit if he's depressed...maybe he'll kill his "creative" self. See if I give two shits.
