Guest spiny norman Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Mystery Science Theater 3000: Don't watch either, but I don't like Ben Stiller. Chapelle's Show: Bleh Buffy The Vampire Slayer South Park Monty Python Faulty Towers: Fawlty, not Faulty. Bit of a tough first round pairing though. Roseanne: Before Roseanne went crap at the end it was quite good. I never really got into The Young Ones. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ledgends of the Hidden Temple: Ledgends? The Shield Norm: I hate Norm, but I loathe SNL. 24: It really doesn't deserve it, because I really didn't like the way it ended. The show was quite good and stuff, but it couldn't maintain its strength for the last three episodes or so. Law And Order Married With Children A-Team Hey Dude Ali-G Family Buisness: How many typos are in this ballot!? The Osbournes Barney Miller ER: Never liked Sopranos much. Smallville Scrubs The Wonder Years: This should make it to the final. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine: Of all the Star Trek series the worst one is on this list!? Newsradio Cheers Seinfeld Three's Company Fraiser: You'd think by now he'd learn from these spelling misteaks. The Bob Newhardt Show: Nope. M*A*S*H: My anti-Simpsons rant is in the top five sitcoms thread.
Bored Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Damn I can't believe how many of these shows I've never heard of or never watched. Guess I don't watch as much t.v. as I thought. The Ben Stiller Show (I think MSTK3000 could be a bit boring) Chapelle's Show (Never seen Pen&Teller's show or heard of it before it was posted here) The Critic (Never watched Buffy) South Park (Now All in the Family is the far more significant show but before my time and I've seen one full episode of it in my entire life and that was in a Social Anthropology class) Monty Python (Anyone who votes Salute your Shorts is a moron...there ya go) Twin Peaks (never heard of the other show) Roseanne (never heard of the other show) Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (sorta tough call but Comedy Central presents is good based on who is actually performing) Angel (never seen either show but I've heard of Angel) Mr. Show with Bob and David (BEST SHOW EVER...SCREW YOU ALL!) Saturday Night Live (Didn't see enough of Norm) 24 (Single Guy? Wow the hell would anyone for that piece of shit?) Law And Order (Never watched King of Queens) Married With Children (Never watched Oz) A-Team (flip a coin here...but Hasselhoff is a douche) Ultimate Muscle (uhhhh huh? I remember Hey Dude was some lame Nickolodeon show so I just went with the other) Ali-G (Never heard of the other show) Family Buisness (Never heard of either of these shows) The Osbournes (Anoter lame Nick show so Osbournes by default) Barney Miller (Never heard of the other show) The Sopranos (God why the hell put Sopranos and ER in the 1st round together. Sopranos still wins hands down but come on.) NYPD: Blue (Never watched Smallville) Scrubs (I've seen a couple of episodes and its kinda funny but I avoid most network shows now) The Wonder Years (I love Jackass but this isn't even a contest) Rockford Files (Star Trek never stood a chance) Newsradio (Do I really have to explain?) Cheers (Still watch the old shows on Nick at Nite) Seinfeld (Loved Family Guy but Seinfeld is a better show) Three's Company (Friends is the worst show on television hands down) Fraiser (I never really liked Futurama and I used to find Frasier funny before Niles and Daffney hooked up) The Bob Newhardt Show (I at least remember watching Newhardt and one of the best final episodes to a series ever) The Simpsons (already been commented on why you would put these two in the 1st round but Simpsons is more cotemporary)

Guest MrRant Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 This list has some pretty inferior shows compared to what has come before. I mean Dallas was a better show than WIld and Crazy kids... and where the hell is Taxi or anything?
LaParkaYourCar Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Yeah there are some weird choices on there.

Guest El Satanico Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Round 1 Mystery Science Theater 3000 The Ben Stiller Show Ben Stiller Show was highly underappreciated, but it just can't touch the greatness of MST3K Chapelle's Show Penn & Teller: Bullshit! Buffy The Vampire Slayer The Critic Damn...a tough choice. The Critic is a great show, but I have to take Buffy here. South Park All In The Family I love South Park and it's one of my favorite shows ever. But I have to pick the original show that broke all the rules...All In The Family. South Park may not even exist if it wasn't for All In The Family. Monty Python Salute Your Shorts Lame kids show from Nick's cheesy era vs. a legendary comedy group...No contest. Faulty Towers Twin Peaks Faulty Towers wins because Twin Peaks was great for only one season while FT went strong for several. Roseanne Young Ones Well...one of the brit shows had to lose Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Comedy Central Presents CCP is too hit and miss to even make it past the first round. Angel Legends of the Hidden Temple Screw shows from Nick's ultra lame era The Shield Mr. Show with Bob and David No contest really as The Shield is one of the best all around shows to come around in years. Norm Saturday Night Live Norm can't defeat SNL's history 24 Single Guy Single Guy?...ahaha...NO CONTEST Law And Order King of Queens Married With Children Oz A-Team Knight Rider Hey Dude Ultimate Muscle Screw shows from Nick's ultra lame era Ali-G Maniamal Family Business BJ & The Bear It's a show about porn film makers...no contest Wild & Crazy Kids The Osbournes Screw shows from Nick's ultra lame era Dinner For Five Barney Miller The Sopranos ER Never liked eeeR NYPD: Blue Smallville Magnum P.I. Scrubs Jackass The Wonder Years Rockford Files Star Trek: Deep Space Nine Newsradio Saved By The Bell The Incredible Hulk Cheers Seinfeld Family Guy Friends Three's Company Futurama Fraiser The Bob Newhardt Show The Dick Van Dyke Show The DVD Show is one of my favorite b&w shows. The Simpsons M*A*S*H Neverliked M*A*S*H Argh...this list is a prime example of why we need a rule concerning tournaments like this. There needs to be discussions before the final selection and no more of this "I'll just take the first 64 mentioned" stuff. We must have selection discussion to ensure the best possible tournament. Salute Your Shorts? Wild and Crazy Kids? Give me a damn break!

So all I can say, is get some taste and some historical perspective To be fair, he did take nominations I know that Spiff, but I didn't see it til late and my picks didn't make it. As El Satanico said, the big problem was that the first 64 were taken and no thought was made to weed out some of the low rent shows that people just tossed out there for kicks. Also, people didn't make a lot of smart picks, as I said before get historical perspective and taste. When this is over, I'll probably draw up a second tourney of only cream of the crop shows.

Cheers Seinfeld Three's Company Futurama The Bob Newhardt Show The Simpsons Now before we get all bitchy, i.e. "You can't judge what you don't watch", I have seen enough of most of these shows to know I like what I voted for better, but in the case of the HBO shows, I would very much like to see more. And damn my computer for screwing up and not letting me get Batman: TAS in here.

Where's The Tonight Show? Where's Letterman? Why are all these so poorly put together now? Since we're going to name our favorite show of all time wouldn't it make a tad bit of sense to let more people in on it. Then discuss the picks? Seems like it could have been held off for one more day because of this. It just seems like people are in too big of a hurry to make a list. The 128 movie tourney kicked ass. WAY too many brand new shows, I mean 2003 shows that shouldn't have been on the list. Sir....I fart on you and your half asses list *fart*
Guest El Satanico Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-The FIRST SERIES. Why point that out when the new version is better?
