King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2003 I'm an ECW mark, so I enjoyed most of the years. I haven't seen that much from 94/95 though, so I can't comment on that... Although I will comment on the ORIGINAL topic. Which was if I'm not mistaken what you actually like...Sakura take note...what you LIKE. So therefore we are not aplogetics if we actually like some stuff, jst cause we like it we don't condone the way the company has gone DOWN from 2000. We're just saying what we actually like. Does that make us apologetics...NO! The whole 'You like that? You like something in the WWE, Vince's company...DAMN YOU' stuff around here some of the time is getting pretty boring. I know it's not that blatant and all, but that's the way it feels. It's not us trying our best to defend Vince. If anything, most of the naysayers around here are constantly trying to find stuff to hate. If HHH was suddenly busted down to mid carder, would the people who say they're sick of him being in the main event be happy. Hell no, they'd complain he's putting down all the lower midcarders. Hell, he'd probably be holding down someone if he was jobbing on Heat. If someone like Benoit wont he World Title, eventually most people would try and put down Benoit. 'Oh, he uses the German Suplex too much'. 'Oh he doesn't have enough charisma.' WWE is how it is, and if Vince doesn't want to do the smart thing and listen to us, it's his choice I guess...Get over it!

I don't think anyone here would give a shit if Crips was demoted to midcard and he started burying lower midcarders, the reason people can't stand this guy is because he sucks in the ring and hasn't drawn a dime since he came back from his injury , the only reason he is being pushed against our will is b/c he is banging the bosses daughter and he is a member of the Clique. If Benoit was the World champ and he was still busting his ass night in and night out and making his opponents look like a million bucks then the fans would still love this guy. Guest Goodear Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Well this is the most negative "Something Positive" thread just about ever... Anyway, here's my list of things I enjoy. I only get to watch Smackdown by the way... I LIKE: That Team Angle is finally getting a personality beyond being Kurt's lackeys. Charlie Haas has been very good on the microphone as far as I'm concerned. Both men have been doing a better job in the ring lately as well as they have gotten away from slow and plodding matwork and gotten a bit more conventional with their tag work. I LIKE: That Brock is evolving beyond being just a monster. I also think his matches are really fun and see a great deal of potential for even further development down the road. I LIKE: That John Cena got himself over and that WWE is pushing him because of it. I LIKE: That all four of those guys are new stars and are getting the opportunity to show what they can do in lengthy contests. I LIKE (SHORT VERSION): Kendrick, Hardy, Moore, Tajiri, Rey, The Guerreros and A-Train going further away from the moveset match and tailoring their offense determined more on who they are facing than that they have to do moves A, B and C. And there you have it.

Hasn't drawn a dime sicne his return. I think the MSG event where HHH returned counts. Sure, he's nowhere near as ood as he used to be, but I find him watchable. As for Benoit, there's altready people with a problem with him over his lack of 'character', which I don't really see as he's not THAT bad at talking. Now, as for what I like...lol, I forgot that was the point of the thread. Team Angle, all three of them. Lesnar's character beginning to show through. Rey Mysterio's possible push. Brian Kendrick actually being used on Smackdown. Mattitude and his MFer. The Los Guerreros and F.B.I vignettes. O'Haire giving Piper a reason for being around. Tajiri. The whole 'how can we keep Jones out of big matches' debacle on Smackdown. Booker T and Jericho... The Women's Title situation, and the fact they're getting good storylines. Goldust's tourette's...funny. Teddy Long's over-use of the word 'playa' and invnetion of the word 'haterising'. Christian actually getting on Raw. RVD with a title belt. The Kane/RVD odd couple. Morley with soemthing to do. The way they're playing the Dudleyz/Morley/RVD and Kane storyline. It's getting a little old, but they're doing it right. Tazz and Cole on commentary. John Cena. Hopefully this is the beginning of his evolving. The Benoit-Rhyno partnership. Nowinski. Richards and Victoria. NWA TNA is doing well. Jerry Lynn. Red and Kash's high spot style The mini ECW revival around TNA. D-LO!!! Gilberti and Sanders on the mic. The past two TNA shows. XPW is gone. ROH is still around. And the fact that soon enough, Edge and Angle will be back. I'm sure I've missed some stuff, but hey it's not important.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2003 I agree with Downhome......It seems like everyone is so freakin negative about EVERYTHING nowadays. Now i'm not saying you guys dont have a right to be negative, but this thread was for POSITIVE things. Then you got guys in here saying "boo hoo nothing is positive and im so glad that i stopped watching while its funny watching you try to justify.....etc.." If you dont wanna watch the product then DON'T. If you have nothing positive to say about the product then DON'T, but then don't post anything in here whining and bitching like you usually do. Save that shit for the 1000's of HHH hate threads. With that being said i think some postives are: 1) The production 2) The Rock's asshole heelish character 3) The wrestling on Smackdown
Guest monkey Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Well I generally enjoy wrestling at the moment, maybe because I was never a big fan of the Steve Austin -Mcmahon feud that I am not so nostaligic for previous years. Anyway this thread was started for people to share what they find positive. Well Tazz an Cole are a revelation on commentary after a shaky start. Especiallys Tazz's analysis of what each wrestler is trying to do with an individual move. Matt Hardy is great, Jericho is looking good and Cena is really stepping up. I loved when he called Benoit a Dynamite ripoff in his rap as he walked to the ring. Oh and this might not be to everyones taste but if Sting really comes in June then the WWE can do no wrong. I am such a huge fan of his it is sad.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Can we drop this shit and just insult each others? That way no feelings are hurt... Learn how to practice good grammer you stupid fuck. Shouldn't that be, "learn how to practice good grammar, you stupid fuck?" Anyway, I enjoy watching the following guys perform: Raw - Booker, Jericho, Helms, Stevie, Rock, Flair Smackdown - Knoble, Benoit, Angle, Eddy & Chavo, Rey, Brock, Rhyno, Kanyon, Mattitude, Moore, Kendrick, Team Angle, all 3 members of FBI I also enjoy (for the most part) the commentary team of Tazz & Cole. I'm interested to see how O'Haire performs. I liked his WCW stuff, but his "hossification" and work on Heat has me a little concerned.

Guest Austin3164life Report post Posted April 21, 2003 I LIKE the fact that John Cena is earning his way into the upper card by hard work on his character and improvement in the ring. He is, imo, the most entertaining guy on Smackdown, and I can't wait to see what great things will come for him down the road. I will definitely watch his career with a close eye. I LIKE the fact that despite the lackluster booking of Chris Jericho at times, he still continues to entertain me with his amazing character and promos. He was involved in the MOTY last year and (so far) this year. Without a doubt he is definitely the most entertaining guy on Raw. I LIKE the fact that despite my two favorite wrestlers being gone to alleviate their neck problems (Austin and Angle), there are still at least two individuals who I can say are excellent and will be franchise players as soon as the dinosaur/clique legion leave (Cena & Jericho). Guest TonyJaymzV1 Report post Posted April 21, 2003 I like how they are letting Jericho get time on eveyr Raw. I like Sean O'haire, and now that he is on Smackdown, do not fear that he will never be Champion(cause he will damnit) (Oh and after watching his Heat matches, i think he is better than in WCW. Though with Cena taking the DVD, what will O'Haire's new finisher be?) I like how Brock has gone from genreic heel to the true main eventer, capable of putting on good matches. I dig Booker T, who should be Raw champ right now I glad I'm not alone any more in the my liking of Matt Hardy.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2003 I may be too optimistic, but I actually think with time Matt Hardy and John Cena can be main eventing PPV's with each other with Jericho, Benoit, Lesnar, Angle right there also. I think all these old stars will fade away in the near future, and the emergence of the good workers will come back and take over.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 21, 2003 1) The production Like Raw en Espanol! Or the 10 minute commercial. Production's gone to fuck as well.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Let me correct myself.....i meant the production of the vignettes, video clips, and match previews. I also think the entrance videos are great as well. (example...Matt Hardy, The Rock)

Guest notJames Report post Posted April 21, 2003 …with Cena taking the DVD, what will O'Haire's new finisher be? Actually, O'Haire used a reverse DVD called the Cruel Intentions. He's now using a falling crucifix bomb like the Razor's Edge. As for being positive, I like watching new guys get air time, even on shit shows like Heat and Velocity. Gives me an inkling of hope for the future. Other than that, the usual suspects (Booker T, Jericho, RVD, SD!'s cruisers, the SD!6/7/whatever, Cena) keep me watching, if only through the magic of videotape delay. Too bad it's hardly ever balanced against the negative elements of the shows, but I digress… [insert half-full glass here]

Guest Redhawk Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Positives for me: Matt Hardy, The Rock, Booker T, RVD, Kane (sometimes), Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, D-Von Dudley, Theodore Long, Chris Jericho, Jamal & Rosey (sue me), Rhyno and Christian, among others. I don't necessarily like how these guys are used all the time, but I like them as wrestlers/characters om general. I also like blown spots. They're funny to watch. And any event that can have such a hot crowd (wrestling, sports, Jerry Springer) is fun to watch.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Does that make us apologetics...NO! Saying "it could be worse" does. It's not us trying our best to defend Vince. You can't, really. I mean, how can you say that constant plot holes are GOOD? If anything, most of the naysayers around here are constantly trying to find stuff to hate. If "trying" means 'turning on the TV for 5 seconds and watching the show'... If HHH was suddenly busted down to mid carder, would the people who say they're sick of him being in the main event be happy. Hell no, they'd complain he's putting down all the lower midcarders. Hell, he'd probably be holding down someone if he was jobbing on Heat. Who cares? The issue still remains. The WWE treats their fans like SHIT. If someone like Benoit wont he World Title, eventually most people would try and put down Benoit. 'Oh, he uses the German Suplex too much'. 'Oh he doesn't have enough charisma.' Valid points - When the German Suplex becomes the same as a bodyslam, there's a problem. I think Benoit has fine charisma - it's just not over-the-top. Of course, Benoit will never get a title reign as evidenced by him jobbing to Cena clean as a whistle on thursday so this point is moot. WWE is how it is, and if Vince doesn't want to do the smart thing and listen to us, it's his choice I guess...Get over it! But no, not being an apologist...nope. Not at all. If you dont wanna watch the product then DON'T. If you have nothing positive to say about the product then DON'T, but then don't post anything in here whining and bitching like you usually do. Save that shit for the 1000's of HHH hate threads. What? I honestly enjoy not watching the WWE product and I honestly enjoy people trying to justify themselves watching it. That's a positive, isn't it? I've stopped watching and I want for everyone to know about it and I want to reaffirm how shitty the WWE product is. If I just sat silent and didn't do anything and let my silence speak for itself, that wouldn't really do anything now would it? If I force people to evaluate why they are doing what they are doing, then maybe they might realize how fucking pointless it is to support a product that shits on you. With that being said i think some postives are: 1) The production Shit with a ribbon. 2) The Rock's asshole heelish character That was fun for all of two weeks. Does he even have a point in being there? 3) The wrestling on Smackdown Yep, those 3 minute cruiserweight classics where they get squashed by the hosses! YUMMY! They so fun. Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Positives: 1. Brock Lesnar: He's a big man who can sell well. He executes moves with crispness and style. He's got excellent timing in the ring. Hell, even his interviews are getting better. He's over. Oh, and he's only in his second year. 2. Team Angle: Solid heel tag team. I think if they ditched the Angle gimmick, and went out there as an old-fashioned "enforcer" tag team they'd achieve more sucess. They won't get anywhere in Kurt's shadow. 3. Chris Jericho: Working his ass off to make RAW worthwhile. 4. The Rock: Still fun to watch. 5. Christian: I'd like to see a Hurricane feud. 6. The Hurricane: Funny Gimmick + In Ring Talent = Much Love from Smarks. 7. Brian Kendrick: Get that boy the CW Title, stat! 8. Chris Benoit: Certainly fun to watch, but beginning to show his age. 9. Booker T: OMG~! HELD DOWN~! 10 HBK: Shut up, I'm entertained. 11. Chris Nowinski: Rules it OLD-SCHOOL~!

Guest bob_barron Report post Posted April 21, 2003 They faced Los Chiuahahs (York-n-Matthews). The highlight of the match- When Mathews (I think) missed a spin kick, which was still sold like it hit, the Cat just went insane pointing out how it missed by a mile. Just hilarious (from observer)

Guest Cerebus Report post Posted April 21, 2003 The comedy is now pretty on target. Raw being the Hurricane & Rock show for a while was pretty fun Rock putting over talent like Hurricane, Christian, & Trish is very cool Stacey Kiebler not being a robotic diva and actually ACTING is great John Cena's raps are still hilarious (the Urn...my God) Chris Benoit being able to carry a match with A-Train is always a plus
