He's been wrestling since he was 14, I think. So he's got experience. And that reminds me to ask ... how long has Sylvan or Sylvain or Sylvian been signed and where has he been? I read the OVW results every so often, and I've never seen him even mentioned, but he's being primed for his WWE debut. I went to Wrestlemania XIX in Seattle, and ran into Pat Patterson at Pike Place Market, a pretty famous place in Seattle. There was a guy and girl with him, holding hands. I talked to Patterson for about five minutes, but the couple just walked on. I later saw the guy and girl at the Space Needle, and commented to my friend that he looks like he would be a wrestler, and maybe he wasn't just a fan, maybe a new wrestler. Well, once Wrestlemania came around, and they showed the backstage part were Grenier went into McMahon's locker room, I knew where I had seen the guy before. Grenier has died his hair blond, which made him look a LOT different than he did at No Way Out, when he was the evil ref the first time. Grenier was the guy with Patterson, and he was holding hands with, I assume, his girlfriend both times I saw him in Seattle. That doesn't necessarily mean he is NOT gay or bisexual, but Patterson did get him into the WWE. Patterson is originally from Quebec, is he not? I think someone saw them travel together all the time and assumed because Pat is gay, that this guy was his lover. I understand that Grenier is not the most fluent of speakers in the English variety, and probably knows Patterson the best of anyone in the WWE. Guest JMTapes Report post Posted April 25, 2003 The problem with vignettes, or even just new arrivals in general, is that unless they are immediately put into the main event or made a main focus of the show, no one is going to care because after their debut, they just blend in with the rest of the midcard. Then they just become another Sean O'Haire or Nathan Jones. And a word about Jones. He may not be good in the ring, but if they had some faith in him, and tried hard enough, he could be a major star. Same with anyone, really. Ringwork is a very small part of drawing money nowadays. As much as I like Benoit, no one pays to see him. And for Choken One, I wasn't implying that they are father and son at all, and I don't believe anything about them kissing. My point was I saw the two of them together and assumed that Grenier knows Patterson better than he does the other wrestlers, because this was probably only the third show he would be on (No Way Out and SMackdown following). King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2003 Dupree looks pretty good...ok, considering the mood o this thread so far, I'll rephrase that. He looks a decent wrestler. He could be one for the future according to most on the inside. Decent enough talker, decent enough wrestler... Grenier...those vignettes, Dupree has got it perfect as the laid back French heel. I dunno what it is, but something about they way Grenier says his lines just makes me think 1) He's not a great talker, 2) He's trying too hard to be a better talker e.g putting too much emphasise in and 3) Damn he's annoying. His accent if anyone saw the post NWO Smackdown, is like Martel. And his accent annoyed me. Oh well. They could be a pretty decent tag team if they don't use it as an excuse for cheap heat/cheap USA chants, which I fear they are doing. It's a cheap stereotype gimmick, but somehow I'm waiting for them to go to a sandwich bar as part of a vignette, grab one of the sandwiches and start shouting 'You call zis a baguette?' before pasting the sandwich vendor.
