Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted April 28, 2003 I'm curious if you guys just like all little to regular sized guys, or if it's just a talent thing. I mean, do you just hate the giant types automatically or what? Most people here are 5'6 or rather 4'11 like Barron and have a Complex when it comes to 6'10 Giants. I'm 6'5", which puts me at the "hossoid" or "stud" level if I were bulked up--a la Rock, HHH, Gunn, and Lesnar.
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted April 28, 2003 Speaking of Gunn, it's my theory that Test is Billy Gunn's Canadian Twin. They're fucking identical, down to the stupid haircut.

Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted April 28, 2003 Speaking of Gunn, it's my theory that Test is Billy Gunn's Canadian Twin. They're fucking identical, down to the stupid haircut. Well, Test is a lot taller than him--although only by a few inches. He had the long hair forever, but few people other than HHH are allowed to have long hair. The reason they made Test look like Gunn is that Gunn is the idealized tall, muscular, whitebread guy that Vince likes to push. It's "the look" which is more important to Vince than "talent," "charisma," or "ability to connect with the crowd." I'm about 6' myself, which means.. ..ah crap, I'm Jericho. I think the minimal height you need for a serious push is 6'2". Angle and Austin are both that height, and so is Matt Hardy (which gives me hope for him to be pushed big once his character really blossoms and his ring work is smoother). 6' or below--you're midcard for life. Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted April 28, 2003 That would be the Nazi in Vince coming out...Which explains his use of Goldberg. Okay, none of that, now. I did forget to mention "blond" though, which HHH, Gunn, Lesnar, and Test all are. Although Big Show is Jewish which cancels that theory entirely. Although the possibility of Goldberg vs. Vince's favorite Aryan Ubermench Brock Lesnar is interesting, even if the match would blow. Especially since Brock is genuinely better than Goldberg (except for promos, which they are dead-even on I'd say).

Guest neodragonsan Report post Posted April 28, 2003 It is how it's supposed to happen...It's just in the case of the WWE, it rarely is how it happens. Either people are over with the fans (RVD, Rey Jr., etc) or over with Vince or the family (Big Show, Albert, HHH, etc), but rarely both...
Guest Downhome Report post Posted April 28, 2003 by Dave Meltzer [email protected] Rey Mysterio was legitmately shaken up when doing the injury angle last night. The spot where Big Show threw him into the post saw him knocked silly. He had a battery of tests taken at the hospital. He did not suffer a concussion, and the only known injury is a wrist injury. Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted April 28, 2003 Pussy. Poor widdle kwoozuhwait couldn't handle the big bad giant... I mean, if I took on a guy 3 times by size, I'd kick his ass. I guess I am just more of a man...

Guest geniusMoment Report post Posted April 28, 2003 I don't see why anyone would want to be that much taller than 6'. I am just a little over 6' and am perfectly happy, I think it is the perfect height. If you are too tall you just look out of proportion. Most girls that I know like guys right around 6', if you are like 6'5" that is a turnoff for a lot of girls. And yes everything in this world is based on pussy. Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2003 Well as someone who almost gets to Good Ol' JR's beloved hosstastic level (a little short though, only about 6'1.5" 270) I must say that on a personal level I'd much rather see the guys that weigh less than 240 run around, no sell Burning Hammers, bounce off ropes like monkeys on crack, and basically look like they're busting their ass and doing everything in their power to be entertaining than be force fed Big Suck and Prince Albert (in a can) squashes that go 4 minutes and never deviate from the same 5 moves. I will credit Albert for trying new things (the Muscle Bustah on Benoit a few weeks ago was a good effort), and some hosses (Brock, sometimes Kane when he's motivated) look like they try to get the job done, but most of the time they seem trapped into portraying invincible mammoths. It just seems like Vince and Co. want to portray a larger than life image, and in their minds that means huge guys who look intimidating, talent optional. I'm glad to know the injuries are minimal. That was some wicked velocity and impact though with the "Jason Voorhees and the Sleeping Bag of Death" spot, so it's a no brainer that Mysterio was shaken up by it. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2003 Fuck Big Show...fuck him for doing what he was told to do...how fucking dare he! He should have DELIBERATLY gone against the script, cause god knows we all love Goldberg for chaning his storyline around. That was one of the sickest thing I have ever seen on a wrestling show...it just didn't look real. Scary shit. A good way to put TBS over. I don't like Big Show as number one contender either, I'm not saying I do. But what choice did he have. Fuck Vince/Steph for thinking this up sure. But Big Show was doing his job. What was he supposed to do, swing him slowly. Jeez...get well soon Rey.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted April 28, 2003 Honestly, Albert is better than most hosses and actually surprises me once in a while, but he doesn't consistantly have watchable matches and is repulsive to look at (except to Buffy). However, in general smaller wrestlers are quicker, more agile, have more diverse movesets, can be thrown around and bump easier than the biggies, and don't plod all around the ring. They also tend to be less injury prone since they are more flexible and keep in better shape. Dude, I told you so! Anyway, I can get into a good power wrestler just as easily as a little guy. I just don't care about certain things as much as others (look, which is Albert's main problem) and more about other things (like, say effort). And honestly, I've always got the impression that Albert tries really freaking hard, but just isn't really all that naturally fluid. At least with A-Train matches, the moves usually gets juggled around quite alot as he tries new things all the time... like what the hell was that wheelbarrow chinlock slam thing? Plus, old Train can get dumped on his head and be fine the next day and can get thrown around by someone as small as Benoit who sure isn't on the larger side of things. Guest notJames Report post Posted April 28, 2003 This may get my Smark License revoked, but Kane actually looked pretty good for the first couple of minutes he was in there. Working an arm wringer into a leg drop and such. He looked pretty motivated. Too bad he reverted to his usual stale Diesel-esque offense of sidewalk slams and clotheslines soon after. And just to reiterate, that Rey slam to the post was just god-awfully brutal. At first I was looking for an obvious edit showing Show slamming a dummy, but damn, it was him the whole time. And yes, I think the injury angle is all a work to build Show up as a "credible" contender.

Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 28, 2003 Damn it why must they always do the Giant Killer angle? Don't they know that its SPIKE DUDLEY's gimmick to take bumps like that or maybe RVD hell he can take a Piledriver and bounce to the F'N rafters on a killer bump. If by some sick twisted way this is a publicity stunt to sell the NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU Rey Mysterio 619 DVD coming out soon I will go crazy..........like a Chicago Baseball Fan. Guest razazteca Report post Posted April 28, 2003 By "Giant Killer" you mean the "Giant who kills Cruiserweights" right? Vince is stupid. Yes I do and I also FEAR the revenge of the Oompa Loompas angle that will come from this. All of the CW characters will want revenge for their fallen kin...........this can only lead to an cross over angle at Summer Slam when Hurricane gets revenge for his fellow masked wrestler kin. Too bad TBS has to squash the Hardys, Nunzio, Shannon Moore, Funaki, Spike Dudley in the process.
