Guest tpww7 Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 There is expected to be a protest at tonight's WWE house show in Burlington. About 20 members of the Burlington Business and Professional Women plan a protest. They claim pro wrestling has too many disturbing images of men physically abusing women. Marie Eddy, who organized the protest, said most people haven't watched wrestling of late and don't realize how bad it's become when it comes to portrayals of violence against women. She had seen a tape of an educational program called "Wrestling with Manhood: Boys, Bullying and Battering:" at a workshop to prevent violence against women. There was five minutes of WWE footage on the tape, showed it to her group, and the reaction was anger and a desire of action. Gary Davis of WWE in a story in the Burlington Free Press said his company has never seen any convincing, scientifically proven links between their programming and increases in violence. He said the women in WWE are portrayed as independent and assertive and that in WWE storylines, usually the women end up with the upper hand. (thanks to Joel Nurre) Credit- Meltz

Guest Kotzenjunge Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 Geez, when was the last time these women got laid? That's what they need. And considering the source, this was HILARIOUS.
Yuna_Firerose Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 I...O...W... I...O...W... (I just had to) Dames Ya beat me to it, Dames. I was thinking the *exact* same thing. Great minds think alike. And considering the source, this was HILARIOUS. Buffybeast should go and show these women the greatness that is A-Train. ..........Did I just say that?!
Guest j.o.b. squad Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 they are just upset that they went to the house show and found out that the mack will be on raw. they just wanted to back the mack
LaParkaYourCar Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 Geez I haven't seen that much men on women violence lately at all. Jericho putting Stacy in the Walls was the last I can think of. Even then it's just a damn TV show. Most of the time it's heels doing it to get heel heat.
Mecha Mummy Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 I...O...W... I...O...W... (I just had to) Dames Aaaaaw, maaaaan! You beat me to it also.
Guest AndrewTS Posted April 28, 2003 Report Posted April 28, 2003 Where were they during the Jarrett-Chyna angle? Geez...really...they probably are going on 2 year old reports. Plus, Austin isn't even on Raw anymore.
Guest the r-train Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Mr. Garrison: Yes, but who's the fattest oldest skank on her period?
Guest Mole Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Mr. Garrison: Yes, but who's the fattest oldest skank on her period? I'm not sure who said this, I thought it was the Mole, but I told it wasn't him: "You know, you can't trust anything that bleeds for 5 days and doesn't die."
Guest ISportsFan Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 I don't know how to put it here, but looks at j.o.b. squad's sig pic of Sean Waltman-Laurer j.o.b. squad: That is the freakiest Conan-esque "If they Mated" pic I've ever seen. Jason
Guest Galactic Gigolo Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Mr. Garrison: Yes, but who's the fattest oldest skank on her period? I'm not sure who said this, I thought it was the Mole, but I told it wasn't him: "You know, you can't trust anything that bleeds for 5 days and doesn't die." It actually was Garrison in the South Park movie.
