Stephanie McMahon Angers Locker Room

Recommended Posts

Guest The Grand Pubah of 1620
Stephanie McMahon recently turned some heads while addressing the WWE writing team. She informed them that their job is not to argue with Vince McMahon, but to follow what he orders them to write and that arguing is strictly prohibited.

Many thought Stephanie McMahon was out of line with her comments, as most on the writing team fear Vince McMahon because of the demotion he gave former head writer for SmackDown! Paul Heyman.

While some may have agreed with the demotion, the bottom line was that it came about due to Heyman's constant arguing with Vince McMahon over storyline ideas during writing meetings.

Well at least we know who to blame for the shitty writing now.

This is no different than any CEO telling his management staff the same thing. They own the company and can do what they want, even if running it into the ground is what they want to do.

Once again...Wrestlezone.com? Since when are they a credible source.

Dames

I have always seen them as credible. Alot of times I read stuff there that doesn't get posted here for hours. All wrestling news sites have shit. It's up to you as an individual and fan to see what's bullshit and what's not. But from my personal expieriance WZ is usually about 85-90% correct.

and how much of that correct news is stolen from Torch, 1Bob or Meltzer..

Don't know and don't care. As long as it's credible news it has to come from somewhere. Why would that matter anyway.

I do know that the two guys that own WZ have broadcasted their radio show live from backstage at a RAW event a couple of times.

A lot of sites that relay third hand information (1bob, Meltz, etc are all second hand info) rewrite the news they steal and occassionally get the message screwed up.

Why not just go directly to the Wrestling Observer or The Torch sites?

So basically as its already known, the writing team is actually nothing more than yes men and women who cater to what Vince and maybe Steph likes?

So they basically dont think creative is the problem right now or what? Man this is getting worse and worse as time goes on.

The difference is, most level-headed CEO's would be willing to listen to their management staff when business is going bad, hoping for some fresh ideas to turn business around.

I actually feel bad for the writing team. They get the brunt of a lot of criticism when most likely, most of their ideas go ignored and they have to try their best to clean up whatever cockamamie ideas Vince and Steph have been coming up with lately.

Could you imagine if you were paid to do a job...then were told to just listen to what they want and do no independent thinking of your own as a writer?

(Thanks to The Pro Wrestling Torch)

So it originated from the Torch.

Wrestlezone and other pages always report second hand

why should we be so surprised or disbarage them for reporting second or third hand..

its not like Exclusives on the news stay on the same news station, someone that is first reported on fox news, suddenly appears on CNN minutes later.

As for the item...

Steph needs to get herself knocked down a peg or two. Steph may have grown up in the business, that doesn't mean she truly paid attention to the business.

I agree that they should be allowed to do their job. With the shit that's coming out of the WWE right now you'd think Vince would realize he needs some new and fresh ideas.

It's not shit to Vince. To Vince hosses are "larger than life". To Vince Ass Cream is "Entertainment". To Vince business is down because of "the cycle" or "the economy".

Steph should have gotten demoted or pegged down A LONG TIME AGO. Nobody in WWE history has been allowed to stick around that long in a creative position with the numbers on the wall like this. She's been a part of the writing since late 2000 in the middle of that Angle-HHH-Steph angle which was hot at first but then fizzled ironically enough when she got her hands in creative. Other than a surge of creativity at small times in 2001, the writing under her has clearly suffered and it has caused a serious decline across the board. But Vince refuses to take care of the problem.

With that said, considering some of the people on the creative team, I'm not sure if it would be good to let them go balls-out of stuff, case in point Brian Gertwitz. If Vince would take Steph out of the team (which would hopefully calm the storm known as the HHH factor) and then find actual bookers who write wrestling and know how to, things would be much better me thinks. I think its obvious that the Heyman demotion was a mistake, look at Smackdowns foundation now, its just like Raws.

Is anyone actually SURPRISED by this?

Nope.

I stand by my belief that Gerwitz is a shitty writer, though.

Then, of course, there's the small problem that Vince doesn't like to pay his writers anywhere near what they're worth. (Or at least what they'd be worth if they were competent.) Having looked some of the job descriptions they've posted, I don't wonder why they have trouble finding good creative talent at all.

WWE is one huge ship on the way down, and Vince can get his answer as to why by staring long and hard in the mirror.

Yah I guess isn't RVD's job or Jericho's job or Hurricane's job to argue with Vince/writing team, but for anyone who can charm Steph enough into forming a relationship with her, for THAT GUY it is ok to nix this idea or dropping his title, or who gets to go over. Stephanie is turning out to big a bigger bimbo than I used to think she was.

What's going to happen once Vince croaks? I mean seriously, what will happen to WWE? Linda and Shane work in the front office and not too involved in the creative product.

Will we have only Steph and her husband HHH running the show?

Ugh.

Ya never know though. Maybe when Triple H retires from the ring and from being on-air, he might seriously want to do what's best for business rather than himself. *praying*

This is what I have always wondered too.

The only thing that I've ever come up with, is that people like to go somewhere that all of the news is listed in one place. Sometimes Torch, WO, 1wrestling have different stories and news bits before one another, or just exclusive or the sort, and many just like to go to one place to get it all, instead of going from site to site.

I go straight to the "big three" myself, but I could understnad why others wouldn't care to.

The only thing, as Dames said, is that SOMETIMES, they can fuck the story up. If someone gets a news bit from one of the "big three", or where ever the hell they get it from, they should give credit. Re-wording it is only risking a huge fuck up, and disrespects those who REALLY have sources and whatnot.

^ those people could try out www.wrestlingdb.com , it collects all the headlines from the big three, as well as WWE.com, and provides direct links. The only downside is sometimes it takes like ten minutes for the headlines to show up after they go up on 1w or wo or pwt, mainly because of the refresh rate. But its still where I go, the direct links are very convenient.

Also 411wrestling usually takes the newsbits from the big three and puts them on their page, slightly reworded and credit is given,

I usually go to them both but I like WDB better
