Guest j.o.b. squad Report post Posted May 6, 2003 if Mr. America uses that music, what would Pat Patterson use for his music if he were in the battle royal? perhaps "I am an even realer american"
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 6, 2003 He could use "The Stripper" and come out like he did at KOTR 2000. (yes, I brought that image back into your minds, people)
Guest notJames Report post Posted May 6, 2003 The right thing to do would be to have RVD or Jericho win it. Which means neither of the two will win it. BTW, fuck battle royals.
Guest THE MIGHTY THOR Report post Posted May 6, 2003 The right thing to do would be to have RVD or Jericho win it. Which means neither of the two will win it. BTW, fuck battle royals. Well you see that would be the smart thing to do, but this is WWE for crying out loud, they are so dumb that they would fuck up a cup of coffee.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted May 6, 2003 If they were smart they'd leave the worthless hunk of tin on the side and not bother with this retarded idea. Oh let's have a battle royal with everyone who won it (just on RAW even) and there will STILL be 10 guys in there. Doesn't this clue anyone into just how worthless the damn thing is when you'll have guys like Goldust and Morley in there? It just highlights the problem they had with the belt to begin with, that it traded hands so many times that it no londer mattered!
JasonX 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2003 Billy Boy was on Smackdown? Well most of the fans won't remember that so why bother explaining him being on Raw. I hope they don't explain it, because if they do it's a good sign of a big push which would likely result in winning the IC. Most likely people will remember Billy was on SD and will still remember his previous gimmick as part of the ambiguously gay duo. Which will mean that the WWE will go over the top in terms of trying to restore the appearance of Billy's character being straight, right down to probably reassigning Stacy to work as Billy's valet and contantly having Stacy brag about Billy's ability to sex her up in order to create the illusion in the marks eyes about Billy being heterosexual... Guest evilhomer Report post Posted May 6, 2003 If they have any intention of restoring some prestige to the IC title, Pat Patterson, Honky Tonk et all should be kept far away from the match. Honky coming out, cutting a promo and doing some guest commentating would be good, but keep him out of the ring. Billy Gunn's inclusion could be easily explained by saying that his Smackdown contract ran out while he was on the shelf, but the last thing they need is another mid-carder for life. They should keep the numbers small, toss out Test, Goldust, Morley, Storm, and Christian quickly. I like these guys, but if they want to restore the title as a cusp of main-eventer belt, the competitors should be guys at or above that level. Toss Kane next and let Jericho, Michaels and RVD tear the house down for the remainder, beating the hell out of each other because they are so desperate for the title. The match ending should be used to set up a fued that's a fight to win the belt, as opposed to a fight to kick someone's ass and you get a piece of shiny tin for doing it. King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2003 I understand why and all, but a battle royal? Rather than a tournament...which would have given some meanignful singles matches on Raw. Eh, why am I complaining. We needed and wanted the IC Title back. Now we're getting it. And with the promise of RVD, Jericho, Christian, HBK being in with a shot. And NOW people moan. Jeez. Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 6, 2003 Marty Jannety will come back and help Jericho eliminate Michaels for the title.
Guest Plushy Al Logan Report post Posted May 6, 2003 Yo forgot to mention The Mountie and Rowdy Roddy Piper!
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Report post Posted May 6, 2003 Ok, so we got about a 10 man battle royal on right now. That's not much. I'm guessing they're going to have Steph somehow say that the IC title should be on her show so we get a few SD guys in there.
Guest jester Report post Posted May 6, 2003 They shouldn't just deliver the belt in a Battle Royale. They should have a tournament that lasts weeks or maybe even months, culiminating in a final match at a PPV. In the meantime, all the wrestlers cut promos to show they REALLY want this belt, to make it seem important. That way, when someone finally does win it looks like an accomplishment. Of course, this would probably make the belt look more worthy than the cliqueweight belt, and you know whhho is sure to object to that.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 6, 2003 Who would qualify from Smackdown? Rikishi Benoit Albert any more?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 6, 2003 Eddy... Angle (why not)
Guest Fook_Hing_Ho Report post Posted May 6, 2003 Eddie's in the ladder match with team angle and Kurt's kinda injured right now in case you didn't know... Of course, they could always get Piper in there
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 6, 2003 I was just naming people who held the title...and hell A royale is the PERFECT WWE way to bring angle back...
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted May 6, 2003 Is there any possible way they could have Brock win? Because if there is, they'll go for it. I definatly like the HBK/Jericho idea, it'd be nice to see RVD get it but he's already aimless. If D'Lo came back and won I would mark out.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 6, 2003 I will bet they try to round it to 12... So expect Patterson, Mountie, HTM and one shocker like Jannetty or Jarrett.
Garth 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2003 Do you guys reckon it'll be the same title belt that they used to use or do you think they will have a totally new design for it, i'm not sure i like the design of the old one, but if they can come up with something better i'm all for it. Back on topic, they most definatly need Jericho and HBK in there last, i would want a victory from Jericho though most definatly.
Guest notJames Report post Posted May 6, 2003 I don't think SD! is invited to the Battle Royal. They've already got a secondary belt, albeit one for the midgets… I mean, vertically challenged.
Guest Polish_Rifle Report post Posted May 6, 2003 Would it be bad timing to have the Macho Man come back and win the title?
Guest The Tino Standard Report post Posted May 6, 2003 A few things... 1. If Sable coming back this year doesn't prove that there is no such thing as a permanently burned bridge, then nothing will. 2. Billy Gunn is recovering from a serious injury, past his prime (what prime?) and buddies with the Clique... He's the perfect candidate to win the I-C title. 3. They are going with the I-C strap that was last seen in Oct. 2002, not a new design (or sadly, the old school I-C design). Austin brought out the most recent belt last night on Raw. It should be noted that the I-C belt will now be the only WWE title that doesn't have a nameplate on it now.
Garth 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2003 Oh well its not a bad belt, it would of been nice with a bit of change though. I wouldn't suprise me if they kept the design but had it re-made to include a name plate. Thats what they did with the womens if i'm not mistaken.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 6, 2003 I'd say the GOLD was just fucking PERFECT... What happened to Goldy? He has been out of commision for a while now...
Guest Aecas Report post Posted May 6, 2003 Dunno but I'd like Goldust or the Hiurricane to win it.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted May 6, 2003 personally i dont like having it be open to "only" former champs cause that kills the idea of helping a guy up a level or two but oh well Hurricane would be nice as someone suggested but he wont be there unless they let the european guys in or something like that Chyna , Road Dogg, or Hall could happen (i mean everyone thought their bridge was burned for Sable right?) dont hold your breath on them though no on XPac (didnt have belt) if regal were healthy they could get him in there or Hardy if he was still there if they dont have anything for Benoit to do at the PPV have Stephanie send the Smackdown guys to try and "bring the IC belt to Smackdown" trouble is that may lead to Rikishi, Piper and Albert in there as well and of course Gunn maybe a TNA contingent of Jarrett and Dlo lol just kidding Honky could show up they bring him back every once in a while
Guest razazteca Report post Posted May 6, 2003 Goldust is working on lo lo losing the studdering ehhhhh awww. I agree either Goldust or his mini me Hurricane should be the champion.
Guest saturnmark4life Report post Posted May 6, 2003 Honky HAS to show, he'll make the ppv worthwhile. I cannot believe they are even having the battle royale however, especially after the success of the SD tag title tournament. When you are putting all your upper midcarders in battle royales on PPV you have reached a new low. Absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn't be surprised if they freak and have Bischoff overturn the battle royale with a tourney after pleading with Vince or something, because then it would be harder for Austin to win. But I'm not holding my breath. And why is everyone saying hurricane should win? Have I just erased his IC title reign from my memory? (It's sadly possible.)
