Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 18, 2003 I thought they made V6 Eclipses?
Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted May 18, 2003 I don't think they do. (Wuken's the import expert, so he'll chime in once he gets his ass online). It's the same base engine as the Evo, but not nearly as powerful.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 18, 2003 I've seen Eclipses with V6 emblems on the sides, but they've been mostly the newer ones. Unless... OMG! AN IMPORT OWNER LIE ABOUT HIS CAR'S CAPABILITIES? SWERVE~! Sorry, I always have to say or do one anti-rice thing every day.
Guest WukenBloodstar Report post Posted May 18, 2003 from 1989(First year of the Eclipse) it ran with two engines, the normal 4cyl and the Turbo charged 4G63 (Lancer Evo engine..just detuned), the model changed in 1995(the year of my eclipse) with a few new models, the Spyder and the GST I believe, again, the GSX and GST used the 4cyl 4G63(again..Lancer Evo engine, running 210-220 HP, great performance if you hopped it up..more if you have the AWD GSX model) now when the model changed in 2000, the turbo model and AWD turbo were dropped in favor in the current running V6 you see in the newer Eclipse..but they also changed the 4cyl engine, thus ending the love that was spread on the 2g Eclipse, which I think was the best DSM(Diamond Star Motor) produced by Mitsu and Dodge(Which also made the Dodge Sealth, Dodge Neon, Mitsu 3000gt, Mitsu Eclipse/Eagle Talon) Needc me to explain anymore? Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 19, 2003 Nah, I'm ill enough. After the PPV at the sports bar tonight, I went to look at the future Corvette (since it was right down the street from the bar), and it started raining hard as a motherfucker. I couldn't even see to drive, so I parked at the dealership right next to the thing and lovingly stared until the hard rain stopped. What a wonderful 30 minutes that was. Guest WukenBloodstar Report post Posted May 19, 2003 Dude, ya know there is help for that sort of thing Anyway, I don't like the new 'Vette so much, think it looks kinda silly
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 19, 2003 You mean the rumored concept pictures that have been floating around, or the current C5's? Over at The Corvette Action Center, which has, for the first time, a board that I browse and post on as much as this one, the people love the styling and the extreme power of the C5, but despise how it has a big ass. Also, ZR-1 versus Z06 debates rage sometimes. Check out the Road-Kill Cafe for stories of these Corvette owners racing on the street. I really don't like how a lot of them are anti-Mustang, but when you've got a ZR-1 or a new Z06 or even a CALLAWAY~, you've got a right to be elitist. Guest WukenBloodstar Report post Posted May 19, 2003 The current 'Vette, Jury is still out on the rumored concept pictures floating around. I can't stand to say anything to most Vette owners online, it's the pure "Amercian Muscle is better than everything" BS I hate.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 19, 2003 Actually, the majority of the CAC people are very nice. Anyways, yeah, I love the C4s the most, that ass on the C5 is just too damn big, and I'm not a big fan of exhausts being in the middle of the rear end. Looks funky. The C4s, specifically post-1992 ones with the rectangular exhausts and the better wheels, are just so much more stylized.

Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 20, 2003 That's a great-looking V6, yo. Kudos. What year is it? I can't see the taillights.

Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 20, 2003 UPDATE: In a couple of hours I have to call and find out if I got the job that will result in me getting the C4~! (is nervous, because he's been building this up in his head a lot)
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 21, 2003 UPDATE(for those who care)~!: I got the job, and the Corvette is mine by the end of the week or early next week. I wonder how many other people on the board drive one. Surely I won't be the only one out of a couple of thousand people.

(I'd like one, but I'd have to have one of the earliest models, because that particular style is my favorite.)
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted May 21, 2003 Thats cool that you are getting a Vette Kotz. Thats a fun car. My bro is getting a 1989 Mustang. I think its the 5.0 liter engine.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted May 21, 2003 Hey Kotz, the red Vette on the top left corner. Do you have any idea what year that is? Im thinking its a 60's but I want an exact year.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 21, 2003 That would be a 1964 or 1965 most likely, the second year of the Sting Ray-named models. Yeah, they were pretty nice, what with the removable hardtops and 327/250 engines and such. And HBK16, I'm one of the few people I know who actually likes the new Celica design. The one in your sig is hideous, but one that just drove off the lot is beautiful. EPD, you mean a C1 like the one in my sig, or one of the REALLY early ones like this: There's a 1953 right there, first year. Amazing how, out of 200 produced, there are still 184 that exist. Guest El Psycho Diablo Report post Posted May 21, 2003 '56. I guess people kept them because they felt they were really catching onto something.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 21, 2003 At a huge car show in Myrtle Beach a few years back, I saw what I called then, and still do, "God's Car." It was a 1960 coupe, white, with white interior and gold accents. Looked like it had just been built and no one had even breathed on it yet.
Guest HBK16 Report post Posted May 21, 2003 I love the new Celica. The only reason I put that Celica is cuz i saw it in life and it looked really nice.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 22, 2003 I'm sorry, were you high at the time? PURPLE rims? Come ON!
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 22, 2003 The rims are fine, but the decals are shite I never liked the 50's Vettes, espiecally the '53. The ones with four headlights looked alot better, but I still don't care for them. They were mainly show with little go. I like the Sting Ray models the best. Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 22, 2003 As much as I love older cars, I'd take a new Z06 over an old 454 Sting Ray any day. I don't think of old Corvettes in the same way as what are classified as muscle cars. I'm thinking about taking that Corvette I'm getting, cleaning it up a lot, and then selling it to buy that GTO I mentioned in the beginnings of this thread. Guest Lil Naitch Report post Posted May 22, 2003 you could probably make a down payment on a Dodge Viper.... Of course, it would be teh ENTIRE 15 grand for the first payment (Viper's run around 80 grand)
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 23, 2003 (edited) Fuck Vipers. They don't appeal to me in the least. Seriously. I'd rather spend an equal amount of money for a brand new Z06 and a trip to the Lingenfelter works to make it into an 800+hp monster while still being completely street legal and stock looking. Edited May 23, 2003 by Kotzenjunge
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted May 23, 2003 I like Vipers more than Vettes, but I prefer Chrysler products to GM or Ford to begin with. Vettes are better all around cars compared to Vipers. I just love the raw power of Vipers more than the refined power of Vettes.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 23, 2003 Oh, Mopar is almost synonymous with muscle and endurance in my mind, but you hit the nail on the head. The Corvette is stylized power, and feels like a luxury car when you're in it. The Viper is a fucking race car that happens to be street legal.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted May 23, 2003 UPDATE~!: The Corvette thing fell through, but I found a 2000 Mustang GT for $12,000 around here, so that's the next thing up, I guess.
Guest WukenBloodstar Report post Posted May 24, 2003 bummer dude, that sucks, but ya know my Eclipse will kick that 'stangs ass with the Star Performance Stage II Turbo kit, from 140 hp to 280 hp with 8-10 PSI of boost(If I remember right)
